Welcome to the Huestis House in Sandpiper Village, just North of the quaint town of Waldport, Oregon.
Waldport, Oregon is located on the Central Oregon Coast, just 10 minutes from Yachats and 12 miles from Newport. This stretch of the coast offers such a wonderful array of cultural and recreational activities, you will want to stay a week and explore: Cape Perpetua, The Newport Coast Aquarium, lighthouses, beach combing, gourmet restaurants, Sea Lion Caves, crabbing, deep sea fishing, golf, surfing, antiquing, whale watching and much more await you.
And, at the end of the day... relax and watch a beautiful sunset from our 180 degree wraparound deck and keep your eyes peeled for migrating whales. There are binoculars in the living room for you to use in case you forgot yours. After the sun goes down, enjoy the evening in front of a fire in our expansive living room. It's a must on those cool coastal evenings so start a fire and just relax. We have stocked a large supply of wood for your enjoyment and warmth.
The house is a large 2 level home with 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. As well, there are 2 sofa beds in the living room and dens respectively for additional sleeping needs. The lower level contains a master bedroom, a private bathroom and its own deck with a stunning ocean view. Wake up and enjoy a cup of java on the deck and plan out your day. Don't procrastinate too much...the Oregon Coast awaits you. The main level has another bedroom with a Queen and a full bathroom adjacent to the kitchen.
Speaking of the kitchen, it is fully stocked. The cupboards are full of herbs and spices you may have forgotten in your haste to get out of town. As well, we have a fridge full of those condiments that we are happy to share with our guests so they don't have to run into town and buy them. The kitchen also has a blender, toaster, coffee maker, coffee grinder, juicer, Cuisinart, microwave, and is fully stocked with all your serving and cooking needs. We also have both a gas and charcoal grill for your grilling preferences. As well, we have a bountiful supply of herbal and delightful teas for your enjoyment while staying at our home. The dining table is very large and there is a leaf is in the closet in case you need it.
The beach is just a short walk away and offers miles of beach combing, walking, or having a picnic. It is a stretch of coast that has wonderful surfing and boogie boarding opportunities if one is an expert in these arenas. Don't forget the wet-suit as the water is rather cool. Also, the area provides great crabbing and clamming.
We have a wonderful library with many classic and easy reading books for your enjoyment. The house has a wonderful sound system that incorporates the stereo, a DVD player, a VHS player, and we stock a large supply of movies and CD's. The system allows you to use your Ipod and MP3 players too.
