With a cup of French-pressed Chiapas coffee in your hand, walk down one of the best beaches on the Caribbean. Pick up a few “sea-beans” and then meander back for Guadalupe’s famous breakfasts. With a book from the library, settle down into your hammock and enjoy the solitude and quiet your soul requires. After a Yucatecan lunch, Marcia takes you to Punta Placer and guides you through the coral garden maze where you might see a turtle or eagle-ray. Dinner is served family style of yet another Mexican or Yucatecan delicacy, complete with dessert and salad or soup.

Why the Owner Chose Mahahual
The minute we vacationed in the Yucatan we were hooked. We immediately knew we had to find a way to live here all the time. We listed our criteria, Beach, Ruins, snorkeling, Jungle and narrowed our search to the south eastern most corner of Mexico. The minute we saw this beach, we put down the money and before we knew it we were here in this beautiful remote spot running a little Inn.
The Unique Benefits at this
Living here affords me the opportunity to snorkel every day and also to work on her passion - Mosaics. The stairway to the roof-top patio is covered in brightly colored Talavera tile mosaics. I also love to cook, so the restaurant and learning how to cook Mexican food is also fun for me. We now have a great reputation and are now teaching cooking classes with Lupe - my mamacita cook! My husband loves the ruins, loves interacting with the guests and making sure everyone has a great time.
