Year Purchased: 2007
Our retirement home became a realization a little earlier than planned when we acquired our permit to build in 2007. We hope to retire in this home in about ten years but in the meantime we welcome guests to enjoy the beautiful Lower Florida Keys. We currently reside in Miami and have three children ages 20, 12 and 10. Both of our parents are keys residents and we look forward to being future "conchs" ourselves. Patti and Brian Boylan
Why the Owner Chose Big Torch Key
We both grew up going to the Keys almost every weekend with our parents. Patti's grandparents have been on Middle Torch Key since the late 1960's and amazingly we have not seen much change on the island since that time. We bought a lot on Big Torch Key soon after we were married and had the opportunity to build in 2007. We look forward to retiring here some day.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We enjoy the quiet and peaceful island. Most of the island is a wildlife sanctuary and we see various types of birds throughout the year. Key deer also roam the island, not to mention a gator or two. We enjoy biking the sparsely traveled 8 mile stripe to the end of the island. Besides fishing and diving, it is also a perfect place to launch my paddleboard and venture off into the quiet backcountry.

If your looking for a great place to get away from it all, this is the perfect spot. Quiet and peaceful, we found Big Torch the ideal location to easily reach all that the Keys have to offer and be able to retreat to a beautiful seluded home. The house is brand new and full of top of the line appliances. It is fully equiped with everything that you will need and was spotless. We were two couples and two toddlers and I can't recommend this house enough. Also checkout Bahia Honda State Park which is only 10-15mins away. Most Beatiful beaches and a great spot if you have kids with you.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.
