  You can't beat the location right across from the pier with a perfect view of the ocean. We (2 adults and a 2-year old) stayed in the studio and had a great time. The unit is small, there is no door to the bedroom area (it is a studio after all), the tiles around the tub are cracked and the kitchen is tiny with a non-functional integrated freezer space. We still had a fabulous time spending most of our vacation on the beach and around San Clemente, we came to San Clemente to relax and enjoy some quality time with our child. We used the bbq on the private balcony for lunches and dinners and enjoyed the cool evenings watching the San Clemente crowd. One thing to be aware off is the cargo trains that pass many times during the night. If you are a light sleeper this may bother you as the villa is right across from the tracks. The villa is charming and the location ideal for some San Clemente fun. There is free parking off the main street, it may take a little searching to find a spot. Parking on the main street is free after 5PM. We spent hours walking the San Clemente Ridge trail (check out the properties up there), we spent hours digging in the sand and strolling the beach trail.

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

  Cute, cozy, and fun! You can't beat the locations! Every day and night just step out on the balcony and amuse yourself with people watching or fall into a deep trance looking at the beautiful oceans. We will always come back to this spot.

  We were extremely disappointed when we saw this unit. Historic does not have to mean run-down. The description neglects to say that the ocean front is across a busy street so the “romantic sunsets” are watching people looking for parking and listening to traffic rather than the ocean waves. Rather than being private and romantic as advertised, you can hear people on the street and they can see and hear you. We were assured that it would be smoke-free, but in addition to exhaust fumes, you also get smoke from people walking by, putting money in meters, standing and talking on their phones, etc, etc. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable. However, it would be a very tight fit for any more than 2 people who are used to sharing a small space. The patio was one of the reasons we were looking forward to staying here – if you sat in the rusted chairs you looked through the railing to the street, cars and then the beach and ocean beyond. We had to clean the patio table. If tailgating is for you, you might want to grill and eat on the patio - if you want privacy and clean seating, this is not for you. We were under the impression that parking was provided (though I do not see that in the description). Be aware that street parking is metered and the unit is up a flight of stairs; free parking can be a challenge to find and is blocks away. We understand that the owners recently bought this unit and are in the process of fixing it up; we would recommend that the owners live in the unit while getting it ready so they can experience living in it and describe it accurately. We were lucky to get a room in the motel across the street the following night – this was a true beachfront accommodation and we did get to hear the ocean during the day and throughout the night. A happy ending.

  Great property for a family vacation, right across from the pier with wonderful ocean views. My family and I love San Clemente and have stayed at this property for years. Kevin is a great host and the atmosphere is very laid back. There is a large private ocean front patio that is perfect for sunsets and bar-b-ques. This property is close to everything, just park your car and walk. I highly recommend this place for a vacation rental and I look forward to next years visit!

  We were very pleased with our stay at this small but very convenient and functional property. It was like being courtside in a professional basketball game being right next to the beach. No hassles of getting in the car with all the beach equipments, just walk out your door and walk across the street. Kevin, the owner, is very nice and makes you feel very welcome like its your own home. Try this unit for a great beach house experience.

  I would definately rent this property again in the future if we were to go back to California! Kevin was asolutely awesome! Totally laid back and really nice! The place was exactly as described in the listing. Right across from the San Clemente Pier! The view was terrific! We went to the pier one day for lunch. I would recommend eating there at least once because they had some really good chowder (I'm from New England so I know good Chowda!) I liked the fact that he accepted our deposit through PayPal (made me feel more secure!) and we paid the full amount once we got there. The place was even better than the pictures on the listing!! It's perfect for a couple or even four people since the couch pulls out into a bed. Me and my husband were absolutely satisfied with this rental and totally recomment it to anyone else wishing to go to Cali and have a great time! Thanks Kevin!

  This property has amazing views and is located in the middle of everything. The beach is wide,clean and safe here and everyone is really friendly. The Villa is realy nice and so are the owners. I highly recomend this place and the City of San Clemente, we will be back!
