We rented this "log cabin with stone fireplace" to surprise my mom for her 75th birthday. The pictures don't really show off the large size of the rooms. This home had the best equipped kitchen we have ever rented. I cook a lot and our plan was hanging at the house so that was important to me. We even baked homemade cookies! This was truly a home to just bring a suitcase. Having the firewood ready to go meant a cozy fire as soon as we got in. The owner was extremely pleasant to deal with and had even left some holiday decorations up which made it extra welcoming. The listing description was "spot on" for the entire property. We will definitely rent again but for longer than just a weekend!

Everything that "Charlene O." I agree with and add: Beautiful home and setting! Light, bright, clean, cozy, and still a touch of elegance. We were 8 (4 couples) getting away for a w/e of golfing, relaxing, shopping, dining and everyone loved the place. All fun! We could have just stayed at the chalet and been happy. We would all be together without feeling crowded, as the living space (kitchen, dining and great rooms were open). The loft was great for morning coffee or some quiet few moments to relax before turning in for the night. Beds were also comfy. All in all "we done good!" and hope to come back. Thanks, Steve! You have a great place.
Owner response:Thanks for coming, am glad you had a great time and THANKS for leaving the place nice and tidy :-)

We had a wonderful weekend in this beautiful, well equipped log cabin chalet! The listing description is completely accurate and the house was very clean and well maintained. We had a very rainy weekend, but enjoyed staying inside as the owners thought of everything you could possibly need. There were 5 of us and we still had plenty of room to be indoors. The scenery is beautiful and very relaxing. I would highly recommend this place to families or a group of friends looking to just get away. The owner was quick to respond and was very courteous. We are planning to come back next year for another getaway! Thanks for a lovely weekend........ Girls from OH & VA

This place is awesome! Seven "around 60ish" girlfriends went for three nights. The chalet is so spacious, it rained two of the nights but we didn't even care, there was so much room to move around in. It is immaculate and has everything you need for a great time. We went into Berkeley Springs and had $40.50 massages with 15 minutes in the Roman Baths, a great zen experience. You will love staying here!
Owner response:Am glad you had a good time and were able to relax in spite of the rainy weather :-(

We had a great time with family at this beautiful chalet. The house is very well-equipped, and it's got a perfect location halfway between Cacapon State Park and the lovely town of Berkeley Springs. We had 7 people in all, and we had plenty of space to spread out. The pool table/ping pong table was used every night for fun tournaments. The outdoor spaces are wonderful, and we used the gas grill for every dinner. It was useful to have speedy Wifi access since several of us had to check email for work during our stay. The house was very clean, it's in a quiet location surrounded by woods, and we saw deer out the living room windows several times. The owner was very responsive and a pleasure to communicate with. We would definitely come back, and we'd recommend the chalet to anyone who wants a mix of outdoor activities, spa treatments in Berkeley Springs, or just to chill out and get away from it all. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Beautiful, spacious and spotless! We had a wonderful time in this lovely home. My two young boys loved exploring the woods behind the house, playing pool downstairs and fishing at nearby Cacapon State Park. Berkeley Springs is close by and offers a number of activities but we enjoyed eating out on the deck and playing hours of Monopoly the most--and dessert at Temptations!
Owner response:We are glad you had a great time, enjoyed the area and property, hope to see you again!

My wife and I spent four days at the chalet over memorial day. It is just wonderful beyond words. The chalet has every conceivable thing for total relaxation and comfort. The owners obviously considered every aspect that one would need for a wonderful time. It is really a thing of beauty and we had a super time including the nearby golf course. Would definitely recomend and we can't wait to return!!

Super great house tucked away in the woods and off the beaten path. Was an adventure getting there but the house is so worth it. Lots of space for our girls scrapbooking weekend and even better to have the large tv in the living room with comfy couches. House well taken care of and very clean. Everything we needed and just a few minutes to town. We took advantage of the house information book and tried a restaurant in town. Having the internet was great especially since we were so far in the woods. Owner was super easy to communicate with and accepts credit cards!! We will be returning in the fall!

Wow! What a wonderful place to stay and relax. We have been vacationing in berkeley springs for over 30 years and this is by far the best place we have stayed at. Big bedrooms with plenty of space. The pooltable and nintendo games were a huge hit for us. Quite setting and very peacful.Only a 5 minute drive to the bowling alley was nice. We are already planning are next trip there in the summer.

our party of 8 adults from England had 3 nights at the log cabin and enjoyed every minute of it. Berkeley Springs is wonderful along with the surrounding area. The log cabin was a great place to come home to and relax. We enjoyed a BBQ out on the deck to celebrate one of the guests birthday. The cabin was spacious and very clean, we were not at all disappointed by what we had booked. We will return again one day.

We very much enjoyed the spacious house and all of its many amenities! After an exhausting day on the golf course in Winchester, VA, we purchased groceries and made the scenic 30 minute drive to Berkley Springs. After some hiking, we cooked a meal fit for a king using the outside grill (steaks) and full kitchen. We spent the night sitting on the deck sipping and chatting, playing competitive games of darts, pool, ping-pong, etc... We look forward to returning in the Fall in order to do some fishing, golfing, chatting and chewing! Thanks for your gracious hospitality

WE LOVED the chalet. I have never stayed in a rented house that felt so much like home. It was everything we could have hoped for and more. You really thought of everything. I thought for sure we would have to supply our own hand soap, dishwasher liquid, trash bags, etc but you even supply this and more. I loved the books, movies, and games for the kids. These were a nice added touch. The kids had a great time and the grown ups actually relaxed. Everyone was so impressed I found the chalet and all of us discussed how we wanted a house just like this. Thank you so much. We plan on making this trip every year and always at your chalet.

I just hosted an annual Customer Appreciation Weekend in this wonderful chalet, and all of us were so pleased with the beauty and comfort of this property. My customers wanted to know the price of the rental, and how they could book it for their own private vacations -- now that's a true testimony! Even though we were at maximum occupancy, we never felt crowded, the open floor plan is just amazing and well designed, and the decor is lovely. All of my customers (and I) gave it a "thumbs-up" for next year!

It was a real pleasure to stay in this home. Eight adults shared a long weekend without feeling cramped for space. The setting was on a quiet, secluded, wooded lot. Very nice. The supplied towels and linens were soft, fluffy and fairly new. I would defintely stay here again.

The RidgeView Chalet is a new and wonderful log cabin home in a remote area. It is clean and safe and we had our best long weekend getaway ever. The cabin is well furnished and the lighting and iPod capable stereo helped us to enjoy our time too. The nearest neighbors (two) are barely visible so you really feel as though you’re out in the wilderness. The town of Berkeley Springs is a very neat, quaint and historic town. I highly recommend the RidgeView Chalet for your next getaway. We can’t wait until we can make a return trip.

A friend and I stayed here for a last-minute weekend getaway and were absolutely thrilled with everything. The house is gorgeous, spacious and very accommodating. Everything you could need is there, neatly (and logically) laid out and labeled for ease of use. The fire pit was our favorite place, and at night, it's so peaceful that I got the best night's sleep of my life. It's large enough to fit many more than just the two of us who went, but we were still very comfortable even with all the extra space. We're seriously considering having a girls' weekend next year and inviting a couple of friends to join us, and I'm definitely coming back with my partner to enjoy a romantic couples' weekend, too. Next time, we want to be there much longer than a weekend. I can easily see us enjoying a day of hiking or town-walking, and coming home to such a warm and beautiful place. Many thanks to Ginger and Steve for making the whole process simple, pleasant and efficient.

We stayed here with another couple to celebrate both of our 25th Anniversaries. It truly exceeded our expectations, from the wonderful home to the scenic woods (with plenty of deer sightings daily!) It was the perfect place to slow down, relax and enjoy ourselves. We will definitely come back if we are in the area.

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL PROPERTY!!! I can not say enough nice things about this place. The place is beautiful, quiet and secluded, and not only do the photo's not lie, they don't do the place justice, it is much more impressive in person. It was difficult to leave!!! If you are looking for a stress free family centric vacation, this place is for you.

We had a fabulous family annual "house camping" experience at Ridge View; kids loved the ping pong table and fire pit for smores. Nearby state park offered hiking, beach and lake and paddle boats.

Thank you for letting us stay in such a beautiful home. The surroundings were very peaceful and the windows let plenty of light in. We enjoyed using the fire ring in the backyard for marshmallow. (Sonca) The chalet has everything, from the "secluded" loft with computer for the teenage girls, the playroom in the basement for "big" and little kids, to salt and pepper in the kitchen for my mom who loves to cook. We had so far our best family reunion! (Mom)
