Why the Owner Chose Port OrchardWith easy access to Seattle, this location offers all of the features of the big city without the hustle and bustle, hurry and worry. Returning on the ferry from Seattle is like taking a daily vacation. Troubles just seem to wash away with the tide. The people of Port Orchard are family, and like the 1980s sitcom, Cheers, we want to go where everybody knows our names. They do. The downtown corridor, only a minute's walk from our home, offers galleries, museums, a candy shop, historic theater, and a first-class bakery. The sights, sites, and sounds of Port Orchard fill one's soul. Port Orchard isn't just a place to visit. Once you're here, you'll never want to leave.
The Unique Benefits at this HouseSome of my family's favorites include chartering a boat from the nearby Port Orchard Marina and either fishing or floating on the water for a few, relaxing hours. The drive to Manchester, difficult to describe in words, includes a million-dollar view of Seattle and is among the benefits of visiting Port Orchard. One of our favorite beaches is right in downtown, which conveniently offers something for everyone to see and do! Visit the Chamber of Commerce website for a list of current events and activities.

From the moment we arrived at the door of this exquisitely remodeled period home, our stay was incredible. The owner/manager, Heather, was attentive to every detail. We had beautiful, fresh linens available for bathing and bed, everything was perfectly stocked, the house was immaculate, the rooms gorgeous, and the view from the suite above the master (where we stayed) was incredible! Heather lavished us with a wonderful Continental breakfast, including pastries and fresh-brewed coffee, provided fantastic information about places to go and things to do, and made us feel at home. We had two other couples and a single friend staying with us at the same time, and we all agreed that this was our best vacation ever and that we will be returning. We had to provide a security deposit, but it was returned to us with no problems. All of the facilities functioned perfectly, and we loved the gigantic kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances. If you want to stay in the best-kept secret in Port Orchard, choose here!!!
Owner response:Thank you Samantha! It was a pleasure having you stay at the house. We would love to have you come back anytime. Heather

Good house bad management

The house it self is great, location and views from the house are excellent as you would expect. In house grill setup works perfect. But why the poor rating..its the management and how our stay was handled. This was not the first time we have booked a place from VRBO for a couple of days while in the vicinity. We always travel/stay as groups and make sure there are no damages what so ever even with kids around. A couple of things that were not acceptable from our experience at this place 1. There were'nt enough toiletries available in the house, considering the fact we already communicated that there were 7 families [We have never carried toiletries as they are always considered available]. 2. One of the toilets was clogged and was unusable unless it was cleaned 3. Though all the other bathrooms were clean, one of the bathroom seemed not used for a long time and was not clean. Also, we tried to call the owner with no response [It was Christmas and expected] and had to bare this inconvenience with a pinch of salt by cleaning it ourselves. Still no complaints.. But what was unacceptable was holding back our deposit for some damages listed which we were not responsible for. As we did not do an move-in/out inspection [Which we have never done before in other houses] we were not in a position to justify that this damage was not done by us, and considered our deposit gone against those damages. Again this reivew is not to get back to the owner but to make folks aware of the poor and unacceptable management at such a beautiful house.
Owner response:I am sorry these guests did not take responsibility for their damage. Please do not post this review. I am still repairing the damage that was caused. There was glass in the garbage disposal, boogers on several walls, fork marks in the formal dining table, bar stool broken, hardware bent on curtain rods, etc. Please let me know if there is any problems. heather
