The renovation of this 19th Century cottage was careful to respect the original seafaring charm by restoring the original pine floors on and walls on the first floor. The long tall wooden hall that runs from the front door to the back of the cottage is characteristic of the shotgun island cottage, and the shiny wood floors and pickled walls make it a beautiful room in and of itself. At the same time the renovation opened the ceiling of the living room and upstairs bedroom to create a dramatic spacious living and dining area and upstairs master suite.
A switch-back stair case leads to the 2nd level master bedroom suite. A wooden railing creates an atrium effect from which you can look down at the living room area. Sky lights in the suite make for a bright and cheery bedroom to wake up in. The spacious upstairs master bedroom has a king sized bed and full tiled bath with pedestal sink and large tiled lounging shelf.
The main downstairs living room has a queen sleeper sofa for extra sleeping. Off this area, three sets of French doors lead to the cozy decked back yard. An intimate small heated dipping / plunge pool is the focus of the deck. The back is completely fenced for privacy. There are lounge chairs for relaxing and an outside table and chairs for dining. The kitchen also has a nice view of the outdoor area through a cook's pass-through. The galley kitchen is fully equipped and also has a washer and dryer conveniently situated.
The second bedroom is off the long hall. Beautifully decorated with tropical reds this bedroom has two twin beds that can also be put together to make a king. The second full bathroom is also off the hall. Outside in front enjoy the beautiful Classic Revival front porch. Long columns and a wooden railing set the perfect stage for white wooden rockers will beckon you to sit and 'watch the world of Key West go by.' The front of the house is fenced with the irresistible quintessential white picket fence and landscaped with handsome native landscaping to completes the perfect Key West hideaway.

This home is offered as an exclusive vacation rental in the most requested location in Key West. The property will not tolerate smoking inside. Only well behaved children are welcome. This property is not 'child-proof'. We do not accept guests under 25 years of age unless accompanied by a family group or guardian.
