Map & Owner's Profile
Villa with Stunning View and Private Pool
Year Purchased: 1994
Why the Owner Chose Goult
We spent 2 years working in Marseille in the early 1980s, and a friend introduced us to the "hidden valley" of the Luberon. We just kept going back every summer after we returned to England, and decided we had to own a little part of it for ourselves. We love the views, the endless sunshine (over 300 days per year) and the pretty hill villages scattered round the valley. It is easy access from the A7 motorway, and within an hour drive from Marseille airport, 40 minutes from TGV at Avignon
The Unique Benefits at this House
Step out of the front door every morning and see the constantly changing pattern of light as the rising sun makes a moving pattern of shadows on the ridges and gullies of the mountain across the valley. The garden has a secluded private pool, and stunning uninterrupted views across the valley. Enjoy the setting sun on the terrace by the pool, and eat dinner outside, cooked on our large fixed BBQ.
Within 5 minutes walk there is a baker, general stores, 3 restaurants, and a cafe-bar. Wine lovers can find excellent value and quality a short drive from home. Street markets selling local produce within easy reach every day.
Tennis courts 3 minutes walk, cycle hire close by, and quiet back roads for running a 3 mile/5km route around the village if you have the energy!
The windmill on top of the hill has fabulous views. it is worth the short walk
This old Cistercian Abbey is rightly famous for its old buildings set in a lavender field
Owner's Map of Goult
Anne and Colin have been in love with Provence for 30 years. We have spent all our family holidays getting to know the region and its people. Now our 3 grown up children (and grand children) still want to spend time with us in Goult, and share the relaxing atmosphere of the Luberon.
Colin is a surgeon, Anne has always worked in education. We can unwind completely at Les Vergers, sinking into a leisurely holiday rhythm, and soaking up the sunshine.

This is the most perfect house we've ever rented in France! You get everything you see in the photos & more. The location is great for relaxation - even with three children - so perfect in fact you have to drag yourself away from the pool to visit the many wonderful places nearby. During our stay we had visits from the cleaners, the gardener & the pool company - they maintain the property to an extremely high standard without interrupting your enjoyment. There is plenty of wardrobe space & a comfortable area for dining outdoors. Internet access was useful for the children when they wanted a break from the pool or ever present sunshine! I can't wait to do it all again..........

I stayed twice at Les Vergers. Both times the stay was wonderful. The description was accurate, the house clean and well-maintained, and the area perfect. The proximity to the bakery, grocery store, and cafe in town was great. Staying here gives one a taste of the real Provence.
Owner response:these are just some of the reasons why we still look forward to our own holidays at Les Vergers after 17 years! We just dont want to go anywhere else!

We love the house and the area. It is excellent value. We have nothing but praise for the way that Les Vergers is rented out. We appreciate being left to our own devices when we are there, but really like knowing that back up is available when needed. The whole process, from booking to leaving, is as hassle free as it could possibly be. Having wi fi this year transformed things for me as I was able to answer booking enquires for our own business as they came in. Logging on was straight forward. I don’t know of a nicer place to stay!

Hello Colin, just saying thank you for the rental of Les Vergers last week. My wife and I have enjoyed another wonderful week there. The weather was beautiful though not as hot as last year but still hot enough. The house was lovely and the garden has grown. Flore met us as planned and there wasn`t any problems. The pool man was there when we arrived so it was lovely and clean for our stay. Sadly we are taking a break from Provence next year, but it`s on the cards for the following year.
