Oympic Pond Cabin

Stunning! Everything you need to cook, relax, sleep like a baby, stay warm by the fire...it's all here!! The property is beautiful, as is the log home. It is a great location to use as your base while exploring the peninsula. Fire wood is provided. Washer and drier work well. I would recommend this property to anyone. From a romantic week end to a family vacation, it's adaptable. Suzann was very helpful with questions and deaing with her was a pleasure.

Wonderful

What a wonderfully charming, quaint, and cozy cabin. Our experience was pure relaxation and contentment. The snowfall on both mornings made it even more lovely. What more could you ask for in a log cabin - with a fire burning and the snow outside - the hot tub was the icing on the cake! Clean, comfortable, perfect amenities - a GREAT find indeed. Thank you for sharing your wonderful treasure.

FABULOUS PLACE

Guest: Mojuk (Wisconsin)

This place is incredible. We came to the Olympic Peninsula to get married in the Park. When we arrived at the Log Cabin we were so impressed that we decided to get married there. We had an official and a witness and photographer and got married on the dock with a commanding view of the Olympic Mountains as a backdrop (they happened to be snowcapped at the time). It couldn't have been more perfect. We found the Log Cabin to be a cozy and charming place to spend the first few days of our honeymoon. We built a big fire in the great rock fireplace and appreciated the good selection of spices and staples in the kitchen. The bed was very comfortable and everything was so clean and tasteful. Viewing the stars from the hot tub was a real treat. It felt like our own private paradise. We highly recommend this place to anyone-at any time of the year.

Amazing Honeymoon!

Guest: Becky & Mike (Dallas, TX)
Date of Stay: 10/14/11 Review Submitted: 10/16/11

My fiance and I had a short 3 day honeymoon at the cabin. We couldn't have asked for anything more. The cabin was beautiful, peaceful, worry-free & relaxing. One of my favorite things was the nightly soak in the hot tub under the stars with the backdrop of the mountains. It was well located and acted as our base for trips to the beach and hiking trails. Martin, the owner, was there if we needed him, but gave us all the privacy we needed. The next time we come back to the Olympic Pennisula, we know where we're going to stay!

Nice Get-Away for a Girl's Weekend

There were four of us that stayed here for a scrapbooking weekend. We were impressed from the minute we stepped out of our vehicles. The log cabin was nice and the views and property were amazing! We sat in the hot tub each night and enjoyed the views and the moon! Almost everything we needed was provided in the house. We also loved feeding the fish out in the pond. And, a special thank-you to Martin (one of the owners) for checking on us the first day and then bringing us fresh chicken eggs the next morning. I have already recommended this property to others. We had a fabulous time and will be back!!

Lovely home away from home

We (family of 4 - mom, dad, 2 boys ages 11 and 13) really enjoyed our stay at the log cabin. We found it to be very comfortable and it was great to spread out. My 11 year old son really enjoyed the pool and the trout pond and I think he could have stayed at the cabin all day instead of touring the area! However, it was a good base to visit Olympic Nat'l park. We also drove up to Port Townsend for a day (about an hour away) and took a ferry to Victoria from Port Angeles as well. The kitchen is well stocked, not only with cooking utensils, pots, pans etc, but also with spices, flour, sugar, condiments, etc. We enjoyed several meals at our "home" saving us some money and relaxing. The pictures and description accurately reflect the house which is well maintained and cozy. We really enjoy the rental home experience and may never go back to traditional hotels. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin last week and I just wanted to say thank you! The cabin was so welcoming – it was so easy to settle in and enjoy our stay! The convenience to nearby Olympic National Park was wonderful and we really loved our visit. I think our favorite part was enjoying evenings in the hot tub with the amazing view! I would recommend the cabin to a friend in a heartbeat!

Wow! What a wonderful cabin you have! It was everything you described & more! The cabin was clean, comfortable & wonderfully appointed. Our 3 children slept upstairs in their own loft & shared the 1/2 bath. We enjoyed our master bedroom downstairs. The kitchen was well-stocked & the view & grounds lovely. Martin & Suzann enjoy sharing their cabin & are available for recommendations, help, etc as needed. We enjoyed the fireplace & hot tub on cool evenings & the children enjoyed the grounds & pond. Having never travelled to the Pacific northwest, we found Suzann's recommendations to be helpful. Port Angeles is a great, central location for exploring this beautifiul part of the country. We have rented thru VRBO 2 other times, both successful, but this is the best yet. I would recommend this cabin & this location to anyone wanting a taste of the northwest!

Charming and Cozy

Guest: Rob (Tacoma)
Date of Stay: 04/05/11 Review Submitted: 04/15/11

Those are the two best words that we can use to describe Suzanne and Martin's cabin and adjoining property. A wonderful and enchanting area; highlighted by the above cabin. My wife, I, two daughters and family Lab had a most enjoyable stay at this property. The cabin was extremely clean, tidy and very well appointed. The views are stunning as we would enjoy a glass of wine during the late afternoons. Hiking trails were very near to the cabin. The owners are just charming folks with great stories of their travels and adventures. The grounds were maintained like a park. We would and will revisit this property in the future. A real find. exceeded our expectations

We couldn’t have asked for anything more. This stunning, tranquil place had everything we needed. We are a group of 5 that found more than we expected; fine linen, pool towels, warm, cozy fireplace with firewood already stocked, a well equipped kitchen with a coffee and a grinder and even a food processor. The beds were great and all the amenities were of fine quality. We didn’t lack for anything. The owners, who are available during the day from their office and maintenance area nearby, respected our space and checked on the hot tub when we asked and gave us their number so we could reach them at any time. We loved walking to the dock and seeing all the Canadian Geese nesting. When the clouds parted we got to see the absolutely gorgeous Olympic Mountain panoramic view from the cabin and deck and the surrounding meadows. This was the most restful and comfortable vacation that we have had in a long time and we definitely plan on coming back

The area is magical and very special. The house and accomodations were up to par. You should plan on bringing nearly everything you plan to use. The kitchen has all the requisite equipment, though it was a little thin on supplies (spices, butter, etc), though in fairness, it never claimed to provide these. In the past, the places I've rented provided local coffee, eggs, half and half. My biggest issue was that I expected to have privacy. The owners run their business right next to the house out of the converted garage. I was looking forward to unobstructed views and watching the owners walk back and forth in the backyard made me feel a bit uncomfortable. They leave a note saying if you would like privacy, that you can request it and they are happy to comply. The jacuzzi was wonderful and fireplace was nice, too.

Owner response:We are sorry that you didn’t find your time here as satisfying as you had hoped. It is our utmost intention to provide the most enjoyable and satisfying experience possible for all of our guests. Our office and supplies are in an adjacent building and sometimes we have to do maintenance, but as stated in our house instructions that includes our phone numbers, we schedule around our guests needs. It is unfortunate that you didn’t feel comfortable to let us know so we could comply. We did not mean to imply in our vrbo descriptions that groceries were provided in addition to our generous kitchen provisions.

Wonderful in Every Way!

Guest: Bree (West Richland, WA)
Date of Stay: 10/08/10 Review Submitted: 11/18/10

Our party, consisting of my husband and I, our children and a few close friend & their children, all shared this Log Cabin in the beginning of October 2010. The property was absolutely spectacular in every way. To begin with, many things made it very convenient. The cabin was impeccably clean and tidy, and provided every amenity you could ask for from toiletries, tons of towels, linens, a very full kitchen, laundry facilities, bikes, a little country store only a couple of miles away, you name it...the list goes on and on. So go ahead and pack light! I was able to return home with a family of 5 and barely any laundry to catch up on from our trip! The outside of the property, particularly out the back, made you feel as if you were suddenly in your own personal wilderness (plus about an acre or so of cut lawn!). The gated pool and hot-tub were clean and perfect and resulted in endless delight for our young kids. The pond, just yards away, has a deck and is stocked with huge trout and bluegill that we had fun catching and releasing each day! We came to crab, visit Port Angeles, and do some sight-seeing at the spit, which we did, but I must admit we barely wanted to, or had need to, leave this lovely place. The owners are delightful people, and even though they were living on the property at the time we visited for 3 days, right next to the cabin in fact, we barely saw them and them and I found them to be extremely respectful of their guest's privacy. It is clear that they want their guest's experience to be as personal and private as their guests no-doubt do! We would, and have, recommended this place to anyone visiting the area and will rent here again and again as we plan future trips to this area. It's every bit as breathtakingly beautiful as the pictures show. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised to find it even more so. This place is perfect for either a romantic couple's getaway or a family with young kids. Something for everyone!

one of our best rentals ever

Date of Stay: 08/01/10 Review Submitted: 08/27/10

Our family just returned from an 18 day trip in the Pac. NW, spending 5 nights at the OVCabin. We have 3 sons ranging in age from 11-16. The cabin was in an excellent location to explore the region, esp. Hurricane Ridge, our favorite hike of the entire vacation. We found the cabin well equipped for our family, esp. the kitchen (sharp knives, garlic press, blender, etc.). The boys loved the pool and hot tub and we were particularly grateful for Martin's expert guidance in all things fishing. It was very quiet (except for a squeaky bed) and the view of the night sky exceptional. Owners were super helpful and esp. appreciated having a large, clean space to do our laundry at no extra charge.

Owner response:It seems so worthwhile to have spent all the attention to detail in creating comfort and pleasure for our guests when we hear reviews of such appreciation like this. We were sorry to hear there was a squeaky bed, so of course we fixed that immediatley. It is so rewarding to provide rentals that we would prefer in our travels-immaculate, tasteful accommodations with excellent amenities and in a location with stunning views. We really have a heaven here with our 3 rentals and we thank you all for letting others know how special they are. Suzann and Martin

Exceeded expectations!

We just returned home from a weekend stay at The Log Cabin, and we had a wonderful time! This property is in pristine condition compared to many other rentals I've stayed in. It is very clean, the beds and linens are quite comfortable, the entertainment system is impressive, and the kitchen is well-stocked with dishes. There are all kinds of small thoughtful details covered by the owners, too, such as planning brochures in the living room, hot chocolate in the kitchen and a hair dryer in the bathroom. The owners are incredibly kind and helpful, turning on the hot tub while we were out so it would be warm when we returned. The view from the back porch is indescribably beautiful, and we greatly enjoyed watching wild deer graze from the comfort of the living room. The location is perfect, quiet and rustic, but not too far from restaurants and shops. We're already planning a trip back to the Log Cabin, and we highly recommend them to anyone else looking for a place to stay near Hurricane Ridge! Thanks again, Suzann and Martin!

Perfect Place to stay

We loved our time at this cabin. The views are amazingly beautiful and the grounds of the cabin are perfect for nature lovers (pond, fish, apple trees, flowers, geese, deer, etc). The cabin is well stocked with all of the necessary supplies (i.e. kitchen well stocked and paper goods/cleaning supplies too). It is nicely laid out for a small family. We had our 3 year old son stay in the downstairs bedroom and we slept in the loft. There is also a very nice living room to lounge in during your breaks from exploring the peninsula. The hot tub was a favorite for all three of us. Also, a big plus of this rental are the hosts; they are very friendly and made sure that our stay was fun and comfortable. As for the location of the cabin, it is between Port Angeles and Sequim. You have to use your car for everything but the views and peace and quiet are well worth it. There is so much to see and do on the peninsula that you could not go wrong with visiting. The cabin is a great base for exploring this area - we stayed for a month and easily could have stayed longer!! :) We will be back to this cabin!!

Simply Amazing!

In Sept. of 2009 my high school girlfriends and I decided that we needed to take a trip to celebrate our 10 yr. class reunion and it was decided that the Pacific Northwest held a little something for all of us. I went on an extensive search of the perfect place to stay and was routed to VRBO.com by a friend. This is how I happened upon Martin and Suzann's lovely log cabin. Suzann was amazing in her communication with me and was prompt in answering my million questions! You can see from the pictures how pretty the cabin is, but it is nothing compared to opening the front door and stepping into your own cozy, little piece of heaven. All of us were so impressed by the charm of the cabin, we felt right at home!! We had a fantastic time and even got to meet Martin during our stay. He is truly delightful and even though I didn't get to meet Suzann I spoke with her and she was so welcoming, gracious and full of suggestions for us for places to visit with in PA. We had a fabulous time and the memories from this trip will last a lifetime. You couldn't find nicer people or a better place to stay in PA. I highly recommend sitting in the hot tub as Twilight descends on Mt. Angeles, it is truly a sight to behold! I am already planning my return trip with my husband and there is no doubt I will be staying here again. Thank you Suzann and Martin for providing a true treasure in the Olympic Mountain View Log Cabin. Best Regards! Casey
