We just had our second visit to this rental. We love it!! Had a great time, we are a family of six (4 kids 12 down to 7)and its a great place spend down time together! We enjoyed playing pool, the hot tub, and the house. We have and would recommend to others! Close to Big Boulder/Jack Frost

Great Last Minute Ski Weekend!

The home owner replied to my email inquiry within an hour to rent his home. For the amenities, and our last minute decision to go to Poconos - the price was right. It was exactly as described - nice to have linens provided even towels (but we brought our own). Pictures are accurate and current. The fireplace was even on literally waiting for us when we arrived! Each bedroom has flat screen TV which my boys loved. Master bedroom is quite big. We went skiing so it was nice to come back to the hot tub everyday, and the kitchen was convenient to cook meals. Minor issues were the toaster did not work, we couldn't find a broom so sweeping up was hard using dust pan & brush and on last day we did a load of laundry but the machine stopped during the rinse cycle. I contacted owner and he replied immediately with who to call to get it fixed. We were leaving that day anyway so we just took the laundry home. Will rent again.

Me and my Six Friends from NYC, Reading, PA and Harrisburg, PA stayed here over this past Weekend, My 2nd get-together here at Rubin’s Retreat and my friend’s First Weekend. This by far was the best ever. The Chalet was a perfect venue...quiet, secluded and serene setting...tall trees, beautiful fall foliage, friendly neighbors who came by to introduce themselves. Comfortable accommodations clean and bright lodging easily held our group. Well-appointed kitchen, Cable TV to watch the ballgames, pool table for at-home fun, and hot tub to soak the bones after days of Activities. It is a very clean, well-maintained place. The pictures are current. The owner gave us a call to see if we needed anything. We spent a lot of time on the porch, Barbequing on the Gas Grill cooking Ribs, Burgers, Chicken, Sausages well you get the picture. Front Porch has a table and Chairs where we sat watching the wildlife. Very quiet and relaxing. City folks like us will find this close to heaven. Definitely plan to return again to this gem! Thanks so much for such a beautiful house to stay in for our vacation. this house was perfect for us! we loved the jaccuzie. The house has a beautiful layout, perfect for our 3 family's, The kids loved the lake and the playground and our husbands had a good time fishing. We would definatly come back again!

Wonderfully peaceful vacation

Even though the weather did not cooperate, we had a wonderful vacation in this beautifully decorated home. When you walk through the front door you feel at home in this cozy chalet. It was filled with everything you would need to get your vacation started, which was great since we arrived at night.We have had the pleasure of meeting the owners. They are wonderful people, who are very helpful and do everything to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We enjoyed all the local sights, which included walking and shopping in Jim Thorpe, and hiking the trails at Hickory Run.We will be back next year.

Wonderful Winter Visit!

The interesting decor and personal touches make this house far superior to a typical rental. Although the living room is small, three bedrooms with TVs, two decks, a pool table and a hot tub mean there's plenty of space for several people to spread out. My teenagers loved the pool table, hot tub and convenience of Jack Frost and Big Boulder; I loved reading a novel by the effortless gas fireplace and shopping at The Crossings. Recent snow made the surroundings beautiful, and the neighborhood is nice with houses fairly spread out. Dick, the owner, is very accomodating and caretaker is extremely helpful. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Friends Weekend Getaway

My Friends and I had the opportunity and pleasure of staying at Rubin's Retreat for 4 days and 3 nights and I can honestly say from experience, that this is one of the most exceptional and accommodating places we have ever stayed in and were happily excited to rent. Upon arrival the pictures that you see here are the exact same ones you see in person and we instantly fell in love with the property. Upon time for departure my friends and I didn’t want to leave because this is the perfect place to hide out or go to and just relax for a few days. In our field of work, aside from going Horse back riding & paint balling; the Hot Tub was to die for, the Pool Table kept us entertained and the computer gave us frame of mind away from work. In closing my friends and I want to thank you Richard and Lois for allowing and giving us this opportunity to enjoy our weekend at your home. We had a great time at this property! We all loved the hot tub which was great for the whole family & later in the evening for just the adults. The decor was so perfect for a Pocono home. It was so tasteful and you could really tell a lot of thought went into the home. At one point we had questions on the hot tub & the property manager can over in minutes to help. We would love to stay here again or any other home from the Rubin's.

Dear owners, we stayed at your house for a weekend but we remember this place for a life. Very cozy and tastefully decorated, extremely clean and comfortable, it accommodated all our needs and gave us a warm homey feeling. Everything is organized at the highest professional level. Beautiful Pocono Home!!

First I would like to start by saying this review is well deserved and very overdue. We stayed at Rubins Retreat for a week in Oct of 2009. I would like to say the pictures do not do justice for his home. This house has to be seen to appreciate the beauty of it. When we arrived and entered the home it was very clean and had a nice country theme to it with the home decor and all. We had Turkeys and Deers roaming around the house everyday. The Pool Table and Hot Tub were wonderful, we played pool each night and soaked in the hot tub during the days which we didn't go shopping. We enjoyed all the amenities that this home offered, and they had a fully stocked kitchen with all appliances along with a Gas Grill that was clean in excellent condition so we could cook food each night. A definite plus to this home is that all bedrooms have TV's and the beds were extremely comfortable. Mr. Rubin was a pleasure to deal with and is one of the few owners that care about being sure everything is clean and well-maintained. We usually vacation in October because the fall is a great time to stay in the Poconos and I could see me renting this wonderful home in the future. I just wish I posted this review sooner. I would recommended this home to anybody who whats to have a great vacation in a nice country home. Thank You for a Wonderful Time.

We had a great relaxing week at the Rubin's newest retreat in mid July. This is the second year in a row that we are vacationing at a Rubin's property and it was as perfect as our previous experience. Lois and Dick have decorated the home with elegance and charm. This year, we had the pleasure of meeting them in person - they are as delightful as they sound over the phone. The home has everything in top working condition and Tom, the manager, is always willing to help fix anything like establishing a wireless connection on a laptop. We recommend a vacation at this or the other retreat whole heartedly - the most stress-free vacation at a luxurious property with plenty of activities for all ages. This year, we could not do much of the outdoor activities as all of us came down with a virus. However, the pool table and the board games never made us feel bored! It was a great vacation home,good value for the money. We were surprised to find a huge master bedroom with ensuite which was the entire upper floor.We did not have time to see and do everything we wanted. We will be back!

What a wonderful place to stay! It's just as it says in the description - everything you need for a relaxing time. Mr. Rubin kindly called on the first day to make sure everything was OK. Tom the property manager was quick to resolve a couple of minor issues. We couldn't ask for anything more. If we come back to the Poconos, this will be our first choice.
