  I spent a week in this beautiful home. I am from California, and thought that our beaches were the best until I spent a blissful week looking at the ocean from the many picture windows of this lovely home. Since we went in early spring, it was still a bit cold. However, we still enjoyed the gorgeous, wide, white sand beach directly in front of the house. The house was beautiful. It is light, airy and super spacious. My children especially loved the downstairs area with it's separate den. They felt like they had a separate house all to themselves. The views are spectacular. We can't wait to make a visit back in the summer. Thank you so much for such a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Jennifer Stewart, Camarillo, California

  The owner's of this house have no consideration/concern or respect for their tenants. We arrived at the house and it was not clean by any standards. There were dirty rugs at the entrance with old used toys/chairs outside, there were cobwebs everywhere, dead insects, the utensils/pots at the house were dirty, there was dust everywhere. The house is not well maintained on the inside or out. The house violates several safety regulations. First being no smoke alarms, live electrical wires sticking out of the walls, there are bars on the windows of the downstairs bedroom for no access out in case of fire, no safety rail on the bunk bed. And those are just a few. I specifically inquired if there would be internet during my stay and I was told yes. We stayed for 7 days and there was internet for 1 day. And that took several days of texts to the owners which were responded by them in a very sarcastic manner. One text I received was vulgar which was supposed to be meant for her workers. The owner expected her tenants to fix their box to get the internet. I had to leave my family daily to go to a spot to get internet to respond to work emails. The owners had no concern that they were ruining my vacation due to the fact that they could not fulfill the obligations of the lease. They were more concerned about their personal schedule and vacation. Once they receive the money (that they lied to get) they did nothing to accommodate their tenants. I highly recommend that you do not stay at this house. Hopefully if it is sold, the new owners will have an appreciation for their renters.

  Pictures made it look like a good place to gather with daughter and grandkids. Arrived Saturday. Handyman asked us not to use upstairs shower til next day. Saturday afternoon the ceiling of downstairs bathroom started leaking and coming down. Couldn't get owner to return calls. Sunday found out owner was in house next to us!! Didn't see a plumber til Monday afternoon. My husband checked it out and toilet was only thing leaking, not shower. For 2 days 7 people used one toilet. Hole in ceiling for plumber to determine if problem was in pipes. Husband put plastic and tape over ceiling hole. Downstairs bathroom had no towel racks, broken soap dish in shower, mold in shower and floor of bathroom. Refrigerator sat on flatened cardboard boxes. Couldn't use two appliances at same time or blow circuit. Only 1 TV. In LR. When finally met one of the sisters who owned the property she asked for money owed - we had paid all in advance. - all dealings with one sister before arrived and then the sister next door. The one sister didn't know what the other sister was doing. Didn't receive security deposit in 2 weeks after we left so text sister who was next door. She didn't know anything about it. Then email from one sister asking for our address which I had included in text to other sister. They didn't have their act together. Would never stay there again or recommend it to anyone. Only positive was close to beach.

  The Pink House is cute little bungalow that is the guest house of a large house that sits on the dunes to the beachfront. The inside is decorated bright, cheery and beachy. Unfortunately the pipes were leaking upon our arrival and a plumber had to visit. He shared that it was his second visit in a week and the pipes were too small for the bathrooms. This episode took a day and half to fix. Once he left and we started settling, I got a call on the beach that someone was there to fix the ceiling in the bathroom. So...we kept someone there to be sure all was safe and then had to wait another 24 hours to use that bathroom. They agreed to not come back until after we left to finish. After the first half of our vacation was taken up with workers, we settled in and had a fabulous time. We played games around the table, talked and walked on the beach in the evenings. The beach is very close! The beach is wide so the kids could play football, or frisbee without bothering anyone. Mostly natives up at that end that know each other well and are very friendly. Dogs are on the beach playing - but owners do a great job of cleaning up after them. Very fun! There is no deck or real outside area; but, you can grill with charcoal and then eat inside. No DVD player, music, movies, phone service or working internet in the pink house. So bring games, books, and music! Nan shared that she is trying to fix the internet. The house and guest house are for sale; so she doesn't want to put a lot of money into it when the new buyers may wish to do things differently.

  We had a wonderful time at Nan's beach house. Everything was clean and in working order. Easy to get on and off the beach and the view from the top deck was great. we could even see those dolphins from the deck. The beach was not crowded and all our pictures have smiling happy people in them! We would stay again and wish we could have stayed longer. One week is a little too short! We had a group of six adults and three teenagers and we could spread out and have privacy when needed. while not the most modern of homes, it was clean and comfy and the air conditioning was an important feature given the heat and humidity. We felt right at home! thanks Nan! We hope to return.

Just dunes and sand before you hit the waves! And, we chose this location because it is the widest part of VA Beach and away from the hussle and bussle of downtown (where you practically have to share your beach towel with your neighbor! I would love to post a pic or 2 on my website, if you will allow me to do that. Yes, the house was built in the 70's. But we try to keep it in good repair and clean. We are doing a major renovation over the winter to try to keep up with the "Joneses" on either side of us, living in their spectacular homes! Please consider us next year!   We had a wonderful week in this house on the beach! The house is as close as you can get in VA and had a natural beach boardwalk to get you there. The beach area is beautiful and not busy. It's great for small kids, especially at low tide. We did lots of skim boarding, boogie boarding and body surfing. Perfect location for those just learning to surf. Dolphins were playing in the waves every day! Grocery store was close so we did a lot of cooking and had everything we needed. The Virginia Beach Boardwalk was a short 10 min drive down the street with lots of shopping and activities. (bike rental, mini golf, nightlife, etc) The house was big enough for us all with comfortable beds! It is in need of updating, but it is very clean. Read some complaints about the TV stations - why would you go to the beach and watch TV?

  It is not a great rental for families. The home is not well maintained or exceptionally clean. We were not referred to this unit, only rented based on reviews and description. The basic statelite package offers no local channels or even decent channels-no usual basic cable networks like ESPN,CNN,TNT,TBS etc. There were only a handful of channels and over half were homeshopping channels. DVD player and master bedroom tv did not work. The decks are unsafe especially for children and you cannot see the ocean easily from them and the outdoor furniture was scarce and dirty. The grill was falling apart, no gas grill, only charcoal. The playroom/garage housing a ping pong table is also full of toxic and dangerous items in a child's reach. The walk to the beach-seems typical of VA Beach, but if you haven't been here before-it is a lengthy boardwalk walk and then a hefty beach walk(only an issue for us with a disabled son). Once you get there, beautiful wide, soft sandy beach with plenty of space for all vacationers to park with your chairs and umbrella. Great location on the island--could probably get a great house (not oceanfront) on that cul-de-sac or one close for a bit less and the same walk to the beach.

  Suffice it to say that we are all suffering from several withdrawal after spending 3 nights at this oceanfront home. It is like a large somewhat old fashion beach house with sparks of Spanish and beach decor. With two decks with ocean view, air conditioning and way up the north beach location, a better location can't be found! It even has an adjacent tree covered trex walkway most of the way to the beach. Great for hot days coming and going. We found the kitchen stocked with most appropriate beach cooking items, the baths stocked with multiple clean towels and washcloths, 2 great bedrooms and a bath on the lower level for teens, 3 bedrooms for us older folks and a college girl daughter on the 2nd floor, and a delightful living room for gathering, enjoying cocktails and snacks in the evenings, and coffee and doughnuts in the mornings. There was plenty of space for congenial gatherings as well as private time. This is not a pristine, modern home--but who wants that for a beach vacation? I'd much rather be comfortable in a spot with some family history! The owner has become my new email friend. She couldn't be more wonderful to work with and to know. It's great to meet a new fabulous friend! Enjoy!!!

  This house is beautiful. We had 11 people (which included 5 children) and had plenty of space for everyone. Everything was very clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen was fully equipped; it was exactly as described. There was construction going on next door, which had us up early; however, it is understandable that it is also uncontrollable. The beach area was great-not crowded. We would definitely recommend this house for families, and would rent it again ourselves.

  I live in this area and we needed a beach house for our family reunion. My family and relatives spent 5 days at this wonderful beach house and we all had a great time. All of us enjoyed all the amenities the house offered. As you can tell by the pictures, the house is nicely decorated. The two upstairs bedrooms are gorgeous. The house was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. This house is big, 5 nice bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. There are two levels to this house and it worked great for the kids and adults. Everyone enjoyed the pool table and the ping pong table. The view from the deck was breathtaking and sunrise was spectacular. The area is quiet and very peaceful. A quick walk and your at the beach which was clean and felt private. We forgot a few things but the house had everything you needed for the kitchen. We were able to use utensils/dinnerware/cups/glasses and didn’t have to worry about paper products all the time. Having a washer/dryer was an added bonus, didn't have to take home dirty clothes. Plenty of linen and towels, didn't need to bring any. Close to supermarkets and fast food restraunts. We are looking forward to make this an annual event. We experienced a relaxing and enjoyable week. I would highly recommend this beach rental.
