The house was so comfortable, everything was immaculate and maintained. We had an easy time finding the house and loved the view(even saw a deer on Christmas morning). Mrs. Lockhart was so very kind and professional in all of our communications. The home is actually prettier than the photos portray, we were so pleased with everything. I have given the property the highest recommendations to friends and family here in NC and in VA. A perfect house to rent at Massanutten, loved being there.

This is the first time we stayed at Massanutten. I searched high and low and must of looked at everything to rent and this was by far the best place. We loved everything about the house . Every detail was covered, beautiful dishes, emeril and cuisinart appliances, teas , coffee, sugar, salt n pepper, laundry detergent toilet paper and paper towels,ping pong, xbox360, wiii, xbox, air hocky, foosball, pool. The home is clean and has beautiful wood floors throughout. Has 2 private decks with an overlook to the side of the mountain. My daughter saw a black bear in the morning and the drive up to the ski area was very close. A deer even walked up to the truck window. It was for sure a home away from home. The owner Paula, Is the sweetest woman ever. All the instructions and care for the home are written and placed around the house so you know what to do... This house is a 100 star !!

This home was great. We had 10 people at one point staying and the size was perfect. We so enjoyed the game room. The location of the home was great for all that we did. Not far from the hiking trails in the Shenandoah Valley. We had a wedding close by so we came for the week and we would book this home again.

This rental exceeded expectations in every area. This house was immaculate, tastefully decorated, and thoughtfully equipped for traveling visitors. The home owner was responsive to all questions. She has set a high standard for other rentals. Plus the area is beautiful and is rich with activities to entertain all ages. We ran out of time to take advantage of everything we were interested in seeing and doing.

After reading the reviews and viewing the photos I still never imagined that this would be the most amazing home that I've ever had the privilege to stay in when on vacation. Paula answers every query with break-neck speed and the deposit was returned in a flash. I travelled with my family so there were only 4 of us but this so beats staying in a small hotel room and actually works out at the same price (if not cheaper) and no-one can be disappointed with this home (even the most fussy!). It's big enough for a couple of families to stay in very comfortably. Paula had mentioned that all I needed to do was to bring is food and that pretty much covers it, as she has thought of everything. Many rental-home owners state that but on this occasion it was completely true, for example, coffee and laundry items were provided that most others just don't provide. The home was immaculate and should the weather have been bad when we were there there were computer games and board games as well as the foosball, pool and ping-pong tables to keep us occupied. Everyone could also have watched a different TV and all had cable. We could keep the car cool in the garage too which was a real plus for us. Impressive? You bet!

What an awesome, fully loaded house! Stayed at home over Labor Day weekend and loved it. Lot's of extra amenities to keep you busy during your stay! Very clean and modern! Owner is very pleasant and accomodating. We have been visiting Massanutten for over 4 years now and nothing compares to this home. Great Rental! Great Deal! Great Owners A+++

Our family of 11, including grandchildren, stayed here for our seventh annual gathering at Massanutten Resort in May 2011. This rental property exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of room for everyone with spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. The fully equipped kitchen complete with coffee and tea service made meal preparation easy. We enjoyed the decks and the gameroom became the place for some very competitive ping pong, pool and foosball with a lot of laughs. The owner is great to work with and returned our deposit promptly. We'll be back next year.

My family and I found this great house on line. This is a beautiful, new home with brand new hardwood floors, new furniture, appliances, and all of the other ammenities listed. Spacious accomodations, with large bedrooms and baths, great rooms, fabulous kitchen, and fantastic game room-a great assest for those with children and young adults. The owner provides all linens, paper products, coffees and teas-this was a plus, as it saved us from packing those items. The house was very clean. I would highly recommend this property that is located right off Resort Drive. We dined at the Massanutten Golf Restaurant, and visited Skyine Drive, and Harrisonburg. Perhaps the best feature about my experience was dealing with the owner. She was wonderful, helpful, and prompt with answers and replies to e-mails. I returned home on Monday, and had my security deposit back by Wednesday. Wonderful vacation!

The house was even better than we expected. It is a beautiful house with every amenity you could ever need. It was so clean and nicely furnished. You would never think it was a rental home. We had 7 adults and 4 kids and more than enough room for all of us. The game room was great and the kitchen had more gadgets than I have at home. We liked it so much we already booked it again.

This property is particularly well maintained and equipped. All members of our party had ample space. The area is very quiet, but we were close to all outside amenities. We look forward to spending another week here.

I rented this home for my three sons and two grandchildren the week of July 10th thru 17th. Since we have relatives in the area, it was the perfect location for us. The spacious home was in a wonderful location for accessing the water park and was exceptionally clean and well furnished. The homeowner provides so many extras that you truly feel you are at home and we throughly enjoyed the coffee she provided. We all loved the game room downstairs. One morning we were on the deck and saw a mother racoon and three babies in a a nearby tree! We held a family get together for my granddaughter's 7th brithday. Everyone thought the house was wonderful! Our thanks to the owner.

I have vacationed in the area for 20 + years but this vacation was the best of them all. This home was wonderful for our family of 5 and 3 extra kids. It is in the perfect location for how we like to vacation (in and out). It was beautifully decorated, clean and spacious throughout the home. My kids and their friends enjoyed their private area with games, sleeping and their own refrigerator. (awesome :) The most comfortable beds we have ever slept in away from home and we could feel the thoughtfulness put in to making this home so welcoming to others. Can't wait until next year......

Being a newbie to the whole "renting a timeshare for vacation" thing, I was skeptical about what to expect...you hear the horror stories, for sure. However, my fears were happily put to rest for 3 very important reasons! First, the owner was patient and quick to respond to all of my questions throughout the entire process. She was not put off by my long list and made herself available to me without hesitation. She was always polite, professional, and responsive to my calls and emails which assured me that I would be receiving first class treatment throughout my stay. Second, the property itself was beyond what we expected! The home was spotless which meant and said a lot. Every room was bright, clean, well organized and smelled great! There were ample towels and linens folded neatly in the closet, flowers welcoming you in almost every room, staple items in the bathrooms and pantry, and an impressive cookware and diningware set that inspired the mini-chef in me to come out and play! There were even detailed instructions throughout the home on how to operate the various electronics that were so clear that even my husband could work the remote! The owner went beyond the expected by stocking the pantry with bonus items (Flavia Brew system and coffees, teas, and hot chocolate) to use to our heart's content. Finally, the owner cared enough to anticipate our needs for our stay. Having realized from our previous conversations that we would be bringing a small child with us, I was pleasantly touched to find that all of the open outlets throughout the home had been carefully covered. This is a small detail that not all owners would have done and went above and beyond what was expected. It says a lot about them and about the experience they offer to their renters. Even the neighbors who lived in our culdesac were friendly and inviting....taking pictures for us of our children playing, inviting us to explore in their garden, and providing us with information about the area. This property and, in particular, this owner made this experience a wonderful delight! By our second day, our family had already agreed to make renting this home an annual event! Good begets good. You can tell a lot from first impressions. My first impressions of this owner and property were great and I was definitely not disappointed! I am confident that the next time will be even better (she is already installing marble countertops!) Thank, you, so very much!

Excellent place to stay. Owner is nice to work with and you receive quick replies from any e-mails with questions. Maintenance man, Lee, is also great. He stopped by to drop off a door while we were staying there. My son had just dislocated his elbow and Lee offered directions to the hospital and to a nearby clinic in hopes we could avoid the ER. I was a frantic mess and kept calling him the wrong name but he was as nice as could be. There are plenty of towels and washcloths compared to another rental home we stayed in. My husband loved the Flavia coffee machine. Owner has tried to think of anything you could possibly need. There's even a crock pot. Bedrooms are a good size. 2 of us had Pack 'N Plays and blow up mattresses for toddlers in the rooms with no problem. The kids loved the nearby waterpark and cried when we left. There are many restaurants in the area for when you don't feel like cooking. There is also a binder at the house with pamphlets for area attractions. If you have young kids, the Harrisonburg children's museum was a great place to spend an afternoon and it was pretty empty the day we were there. I can't imagine there's a cleaner rental house in the area so we would stay here again if vacationing in the area with family.

I was very impressed with this rental. It was more like home than a rental. It was very clean. I wasn't worried about sleeping in the bed like I usually am with hotel rooms. There was a lot of things to do. It was well worth the money. I plan on taking my family back next year.

This was our first experience with Home Away, and it couldn't have been better! The house was spotlessly clean, the area was more beautiful than we'd anticipated, and the pool and ping pong games were nonstop. Without doubt, the highlight each evening was the family 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle-a-thon, under the direction of our 18 year old granddaughter Mimi. Three generations made up our guest roster and there were more activities and to-do lists than we could keep up with: Together and individually we visited Luray Caverns, Monticello, UVA, water parks, mountain trails, the Harrisonburg mall (hey, four of us were female!), and several area restaurants. We spent one glorious week in the Shenandoah Valley this year; next year we hope to extend it to one month!
