This warm and inviting cedar log home conveniently located on the golf course at Kahler Glen Golf and Ski Resort, is perfect for your family vacations and weekend getaways. You'll enjoy glorious mountain and golf course views as you kick back and relax on our large deck or enjoy the cozy river rock fireplace.
Great anytime of the year, we are only 1 mile from Lake Wenatchee State Park, which has a great swimming beach and picnic area and only 18 miles to the quaint Bavarian town of Leavenworth, WA.
This three bedroom home sleeps 10 in beds. There are 2 queen beds and 1 set of single bunk beds on the main floor. There is also a carpeted lower level (rec room) with 1 queen bed, a queen size pull out couch and a foosball table. We have two full and one 3/4 bathroom with a large luxury walk-in shower.
You'll find a fully equipped kitchen, dining room with seating for 8 and a gorgeous deck area with gas BBQ and patio furniture.
You'll be pleasantly surprised with all the little extras and touches that we provide to help you feel right at home. Great for families!

Year Purchased: 2007
Owned and loved by Jonathan and Michelle Barsness, Big Ponderosa PIne cabin is a cedar Pan Abode log home. The cabin was originally built in the mid 1970s and located on Cougar Mountain in Bellevue, WA.
In 2007, through an enormous amount of hard work and help from family and friends, we re-located it log by log to its present spot on Kahler Glen Golf and Ski Resort.
The name Big Ponderosa is inspired by the magestic Ponderosa Pines found on the East side of Washington's Cascade Mountains. Above the cabin on Nason Ridge, we are watched over by an old growth, giant ponderosa pine tree.
Why the Owner Chose Leavenworth
We love this area. We chose it because of it's close proximity to the Seattle metro area, yet if offers a different climate. We love all the warm dry sunshine we get in the summer and all the fluffy snow for skiing in the winter.
The Unique Benefits of this House
There is so much to do in this area. Our family is active and loves the outdoors. We enjoy hiking the nearby trails, golf in the summer, skiing and sledding in the winter. There are great places to go river rafting in the summer or snow mobiling in the winter. We're never bored. We also enjoy the peace and tranquility of being near Lake Wenatchee, yet close to all the activities and festivals Leavenworth offers.

Great golf & hiking getaway! We found this place through friends of the owners. Such a beautiful setting with views of the golf course and the mountains beyond. We really enjoyed the fireplace in the living room with its big window overlooking the golf course, and also enjoyed the great deck. The golf course is challenging and fun. Plenty of hiking in the area with paths to Lake Wenatchee. Looking forward to another vacation here.

What a wonderful vacation was had by all! We will definitely make this a tradition! There is so much to enjoy: comfortable sleeping arrangements, gorgeous kitchen, big fluffy towels, relaxing fireplace, skiing right out the back door, quaint town of Leavenworth, and Lake Wenatchee is 1/2 mile away!

Thank you for sharing your log home with us. We loved everything about it - kitchen, rooms, fire place, heated floors etc. Very comfortable and cozy. And very relaxing. If I ever want to get away from our busy lives, I know where to go!

July 2007 What a great escape! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, relaxed on the deck while golfers entertained us. I've never seen so many humming birds flickering in and out of the feeders.
