Beautiful 1BR/1 BA on the Ocean, Polynesian Shores

  We stayed for a week in late June 2009 and had such a wonderful time (just realized I never wrote a review)! This was our second visit to Maui so we had a better idea of where everything was located. Staying slightly north in Honokowai is an excellent way to save money but not compromise on accommodations! Also we fell in love with the town itself, the local farmer's market and Maui Fish Market, and because of the great kitchen in this condo we were able to prepare and eat the delicious fresh food we bought - when we weren't dining out at the amazing restaurants! This condo has everything you need for comfortable island living and is lacking nothing, down to the laundry basket for your linens or personal clothes (coin operated laundry is an easy stroll across the lawn while you wave to neighbors and feel the warm ocean breezes). From the back door, you literally sit on your lanai and look out across the lawn at the ocean, enjoying the beautiful sounds, smells and sights! Then just stroll to the pool directly in front of you, or right past it to the ocean! There are permanent residents as well as other vacationers and everyone we encountered was pleasant and respectful. A short, reasonable drive to everything and you can walk to some places too. Owners are great, got back to us immediately regarding availability and answered all of our questions. It is not a luxury resort, but rather your own quaint, bright, clean and tasteful private 1st floor vacation apartment with great views to "come home" to while exploring and enjoying this awesome island. Priced just right. We would most definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others!

• Maui Baby!!!

  This was definitely more homey than other locations we visited during our stay. This was our 1st time to Maui and we expected the tourism and were glad to avoid the high rise condos in the area. Beware that this is not Downtown Lahaina, but this was a plus and closer to the wedding site than we thought. There were a few more rules there than published but still definitely worth the stay.Within our 1st hour of arrival we saw turtles! The landscaping is inviting and natural and our condo was bright despite being in a lower corner,. Other condos we visited were maybe nicer but not as brightly lit and naturally set in the landscape.Gratefully recommended.
