Birdsong has been one of Idyllwild's most popular getaways for over 20 years. Lovingly remodeled by the present owners, it offers your own parking space and complete privacy 100 feet back from a tree lined street, at the end of a lighted path, with a deck and private side yard overlooking the forest and seasonal creek.
It's light, cheery and comfortable with many personal art items, and the cleaning staff has often commented that it's their favorite spot to care for.
The upstairs bedroom features a ceiling mural of the sky, color TV/DVD/VCR, 4 windows with views of the forest and rocky gorge, and 2 skylights from which you might awaken to a family of raccoons peeking in!
The first floor has a full kitchen, 3/4 bath with large shower, 2 comfortable sofas (one a fold-out that sleeps 1), a dining table and 4 chairs, a color TV/DVD/VCR, AM/FM radio, a glass faced woodstove (as well as electric heat), and twin French doors leading to the deck. At night there are small lights dotting the rocks all around.
There's a telephone for local calls, and AT&T cell phone reception is usually excellent. Previous guests have left complimentary remarks in the guest books, and hopefully you'll look them over and leave some thoughts of your own. This cozy hideaway is not used part time by the owners but has been created just for those lucky enough to discover it. Nestled in one of the area's prettiest neighborhoods, it's a pleasant walk to the center of Idyllwild, Fern Valley corners, shops, restaurants, galleries, the Idyllwild Historical Society museum and the town's quaint Rustic Theatre. Just 10 minutes to Humber Park and Tahquitz Rock, A MUST SEE during your visit. |
