Though most days at Red Cloud Retreat are sunny and bright, at nearly 9800 feet in elevation, you may find yourself in the clouds or better yet, looking down on the clouds in the National Forest below. If you’re very lucky, you may also see storms moving in from any direction. Those views are especially enjoyable from the new Sun Room (Rita’s Room) on the East side of the cabin.
This beautiful log cabin has 3 levels, each with its own bedroom and bath.
You'll think you're on top of the world on the deck that overlooks what seems like all of Colorado. The upper level has a master bedroom with bath and opens onto a loft (Bunk bed on the loft). The main floor has a bedroom with queen bed and the bath across the hall. This level also has the kitchen, dining, and TV/living room, and opens to a huge deck with hot tub, from which you can see incredible sunrises and starry nights in a black sky.
The lower level has the third bedroom, a bathroom, and the TV/rec room with a pool table. It opens to our new sun porch where you can bird watch and view nature.
Great hiking, biking, snow-shoeing, and cross country skiing are available right outside the door. Nearby Pike National Forest offers 4 wheeling, horseback riding, hunting, and fishing. Fairplay, half an hour away, has restaurants, bowling, and an outdoor museum. Further North on Route 9 is Breckenridge with all its Winter and Summer amenities, or go South toward Buena Vista with Princeton Hot Springs and great white water rafting.

My husband and I chose Red Cloud Retreat for our honeymoon because we were looking for a dream cabin vacation in beautiful Colorado! This cabin has everything we could dream of! From the starry nights in the hut tub to the beautiful sunrises where we ate our breakfast on the deck. Thank you for providing us with such a perfect place to start our marriage. What an awesome cabin and incredible view!! It was worth driving through the snowstorm of '09 to vacation here. Again, what a view!! My children loved the bunkbeds!
