Glenmerle - Perfect for Fall Getaways! Breathtaking Views.
Year Purchased: 2006
Why the Owner Chose Cashiers
The Cashiers area in North Carolina has everything to offer for a perfect get-away. The mountains provide ample hiking with incredible views and waterfalls. Lake Glenville is unique as a lake in this high mountain elevation area. It offers cooling water adventures for the whole family. What better place can you escape the sweltering heat from the South than to relax where the temperature rarely hits 80 in the summer? Cashiers and Highlands feature charming shops and fine dining. Something for everyone!
The Unique Benefits at this House
We fell in love with Glenmerle the moment we visited the house and couldn’t get enough of the killer views. Since we’ve owned Glenmerle, it’s been a joy to share it with others. As we lead our own busy lives, our times at Glenmerle have truly been a retreat. Whether we’re hiking, as shown in this photo taken at Whiteside Mtn, or relaxing on the deck or by the fire, Glenmerle has provided rest for the weary.
Great place to rent a pontoon boat for a half day! www.signalridgemarina.com
Silver Run Falls is both a good place to swim in the summer and a place where some venture to fish. Look for fish like small native trout in the pool and creek that flows downstream.
Rainbow Falls is definitely one of the most spectacular falls in the area. http://www.gocashiers.com/guide/waterfalls/rainbow-falls
Whitewater Falls is perhaps the most famous waterfall in the area. Located on the NC/SC border, this fall is the highest waterfall east of the Rockies.
A great lunch spot in Cashiers. Enjoy eating in the large screened porch of the 115 yr. old building.
Wonderful BBQ "On the Side". Fresh fruits & vegetables, local pies and jams. A must-see!
Perfect place for a romantic meal! Gourmet dining. http://www.greystoneinn.com/content.asp?pid=5
Incredible drive along the ridges - some of the highest overlooks on the entire parkway. Head over to 276 to Brevard, and take Hwy. 64 back home.
