Don't be fooled by inflated prices that claim 20% discounts or third day free with two day rental. Our bottom line prices are already much lower (in some cases 25% or more then the list price). Our home is huge, comfy and up to date. Our location is great and our prices up front are lower then the competition. We do not double our rates so that we can give 20% off or through in things that make us look good. We are already good. Our guest reviews reflect that. We do not pay our guests or hold them hostage in order to get a good review. The guests have liked our home and our price to voluntarily want to leave a comment. That should be enough in itself but I will give you the guided and detailed tour anyway.
Relax, enjoy wildlife and the sounds of the nearby ocean as you sit on rocking chairs enjoying views of lighthouses and sunsets. With over 1300 sq. ft. of porches, this newly decorated 2,000 sq. ft. home features island decor and family friendly accommodations. Three roomy bedrooms with 2.5 baths plus an outdoor shower and a fish cleaning station provides for everyone.
Only 1 minute from the beach, steps away from the Newly Renovated 4.5 Star 18 hole George Cobb designed golf course, about 900 feet from the newly decorated clubhouse. Located just a short walk or bike ride from the village makes it easy to get to your boat, rent a canoe, eat at the dockside restaurants or visit and walk up to the oldest lighthouse in N.C.(Old Baldy 1817). Two golf carts, grill, beach chairs, games and movies along with cable TV in every room.

My wife and I, along with our newborn, and another couple with their two small children had an incredible experience at this home. We have been coming to the island for many years and this home offers everything you could ask for plus more! Most importantly the owners are extremely friendly and are communicate very well with you from the time you make the reservation throughout the time you are on the trip which makes things very nice. Overall, it is a terrific home, a great location on the island right near the Club and beach access, with all the amenities of home! Me and my family went there for our spring break. We stayed for 5 nights! The home was better than the pictures or anyone could describe. The 2 golf cart were great for getting around the island and were like brand new! One thing I appreciated about the carts were the rainguards around the golf cart, because unfortunately it rained while we were there. However, because of these we were able to drive around still. The owner was awesome in getting us plenty of info and I stayed in contact with him over our break, with questions I had. Maggie's place was clean and cozy with plenty of space and things to do. The island was amazing and the home made it all worthwhile. It was very affordable. They made sure their home is stocked with almost everything you may need as far as utensils, cookware, plates, cups, coffee pot, toaster , everything! Having access to the washer was good too. We went home with all clean laundry! When I go back I will definitely stay there again! It upheld every description and picture. Our favorite activity was kayaking. Great Restaurant -Moes! P.S. We seem dolphin on our way back to the mainland when we were on the ferry! Definitely a highlight of our vacay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed at Maggie's Place for my Son's Wedding. We had 7 adults and 2 children (ages 2 and 7) the home was spacious and the reverse floor plan was great for the views. The Owner kept us informed of all the events going on during our stay and even sent us the daily specials for the Market. I would like to note that all the information that Richard sent to us we felt well prepared for our trip. I will be going back again when I can just relax and enjoy the Island. I would not think of staying anywhere but Maggie's Place.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just returned from a great spring break week on Bald Head at Maggie's Place. Excellent time of year to enjoy the island as the weather was warming and the island was mostly ours. This was the second time we have enjoyed the Walsh's great hospitality as they do everything they can to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. We especially appreciated all the toys they provide with the rental to make our outdoor activities enjoyable including the many bicycles, boogie boards, and fishing and golf equipment. Located half way between the Marina and the Golf Club, we enjoyed the quick access to both for nightly take out food from the Pelicatessan and MoJo's. Thanks from our family to yours for a great stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and I had a very enjoyable stay at Maggie's Place on Bald Head Island over the Christmas Holiday. The owner was extremely helpful in making sure we had everything we needed to maximize our enjoyment of the island all its amenities available to us as visitors. Maggie's Place was very clean comfortable and was stocked with many of the extra's that other rental places do not provide such as crab pots, bicycles, boogie boards to name a few. The 2 golf carts were the best that we have seen in the 15 years we have rented on Bald Head. After a few false starts of heading down instead of up the stairs, we particularly enjoyed the home's reverse floor plan with the kitchen, living and dining rooms on the top floor with its amazing decks and views. We would highly recommend this property for your next visit to Bald Head!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This house was wonderful for our family vacation. The Owner is great and accomodating to work with. Close to all: Marina, Lighthouse, Beaches, Market, and just a great location on the Island. The temporary membership to Bald Head Island Club is an added + The Golf carts are newer and nice. You could not ask for a better Owner to work with on all aspects and keeps in touch and keeps you informed about all things happening on the Island. My family and I will be back hopefully next year. The owner of Maggie's Place started sending my family emails from various Bald Head 'destinations' such as the Maritime Market and the Turtle Conservency weeks before we were to arrive...we were so ready to get on BHI by the time our week came. Georgous home, great views from the top (best cup of coffee I ever had), clean, comfortable and two of the fastest golf carts on the BHI!!! Owner called Shoals Club on our behalf and what a treat that was!! Family was albel to walk out and watch us play the 8th hole (par 3). I have been coming to BHI for 17 years...this house is a great vacation - we'll be back!! The Nisbet's PS Thats the largest most well stocked bicycle rack I have EVER seen!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was our second stay at Maggie's Place. This time we brought family with us, a total of 5 adults and 3 children. Having rented this home previously we knew it would not disappoint. The home has plenty of room to spread out and the porches and decks provided lots of room for the kids to play. Richard has crab traps along with printed instructions for catching crabs posted in the garage. We went to the island creek access in the evening and had a blast catching the crabs. Given more time we would have caught enough for a meal. Guess that will have to wait until next year! Having the option of both clubs was also a pleasant bonus. The four seater and six seater golfs allowed everyone opportunities to explore the island at their own pace. Richard kept us updated with island events and was easily accessible by email or phone. We would recommend this home to anyone looking for a house to rent on BHI.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: I am 63 and my wife is 61 (and getting older as I type). We are almost at retirement age and would rather travel then spend time at our home near Cleveland, Ohio (especially in winter).I enjoy photography, scuba diving, fishing, treasure hunting, flying and nature. My wife also likes to travel, birding, snorkeling (she's to chicken to scuba dive), walking along the beach and a relaxing diner. We have both traveled around the world numerous times and love to meet people. We love the mountains and visiting our second home on Bald Head Island. We honestly do want people to come and visit so they may enjoy what we have.
Why the Owner Chose Bald Head Island:
My wife and I grew up near the ocean and watched our favorite places get crowded as houses and resorts brought crowds of people and the problems that go with it. Bald Head Island is what most people dream about when they look at travel magazine. The island is uncrowded and has over 14 miles of beaches which 11 miles were given back to the state remaining forever natural. Over 12,000 acres of Marsh provide the utmost in observing nature. Being that the island extends out into the gulf-stream it attracts a variety of sea-life including Loggerhead Turtles, Whales, Tuna, Dophins and many more. The geographic location along the cental coastline of the U.S. between Florida and Maine provide a phenominal means of seeing birds from the North and South as they migrate through Bald Head. The 100+ year old towering Cedar and Oak forest abutts the 50 foot + sand dunes making this island unique and not found in many other places. There are also only a few places in the U.S. that restrict travel on a protected island to electric golf carts, bicycles or walking. This is what made my wife and I buy a piece of heaven.
