This is an exceptionally great place to stay with your family. My family had to stay in Humacao for a baseball tournament and so we rented this place. It was awesome! Everything we needed seemed to be there;including boogie boards for the ocean!! It was very comfortable and homey. It was just a quick walk to the beach and the pool was right out our door. My kids are 17-18yrs old and they enjoyed every minute of it. It made our stay feel like we were at home.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We had a wonderful time staying at Fairlakes Village. From the initial inquiry until we arrived, we had great communication with the owner, and the condo was just as described and pictured. No surprises. It was great to have a cup of coffee in the morning on the patio and be so close to the ducks and turtles --so peaceful. Then golf and beach for the day and back for a few Pina Coladas. Sarah's (the owner) tip sheet on what to do, where to shop, restaurants really helps. We took a day trip to Vieques Island and really enjoyed the snorkeling and time lounging on the boat. As a family of four with two teenagers, this was our first experience with VRBO. It was much nicer than a cramped hotel for a family vacation. We will recommend this condo to our family and friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We just returned from another great stay in Puerto Rico. For 4 years we have gone back for 4 to 6 weeks to enjoy the great weather and amenities. The villa is perfect for us. Located less than an hour from the airport, rainforest, Old San Juan, bioluminescent bay, etc, it is a good base for touring the island yet be away from the headaches of the city. We feel very safe. There are guarded entries at the main gate and also at the entrance to the villa. We are comfortable walking to the casino or beach at night and everyone is so helpful and nice, really nice. The villa is large and airy with high ceilings, lots of light and always very clean upon arrival. The kitchen is spanking new with stainless appliances, granite counters and lovely cupboards filled with anything you could possibly need. One of the two patios has two grills and nice furniture to watch the many kinds of birds, turtles and iguanas. We like to have coffee there and watch the golfers on #7 fairway of the Palms course. And the golf! Two great courses have stunning views of the ocean and mountains. Never a problem getting a tee time. The tennis complex was chosen "Best of the Caribbean" in 2012. There is a special beach club that kids love because of the water slides, etc. There is an extra fee for that. The beach is about a block away down a palm lined path and is very large-no rocks-and is cleaned every morning. The shared pool is steps from the villa and is always sparkling clean and never busy. The entire area is clean and well maintained. Palmas is very large so many people rent golf carts to get around but I recommend renting a car also for touring the island. There are many good restaurants in the resort (our favorites are Chez Daniel and C Bar). A small market is in the plaza but I often go the few miles into town where there are several malls with pharmacies, markets, big box stores and restaurants. Another great thing about this villa is the owner. Although I've never met Sarah, she has become a friend and is always available for questions or problems. We have also become good friends with many people who return year after year to Fairlakes. It's a quiet resort with not alot of nightlife and noisy parties-go to the nearby hotel & casino or San Juan for that. We highly recommend this villa and as soon as I unpack I'm booking for next year.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our cruise was cancelled at the last minute and we had to scramble to find a place to stay. Sarah was extremely helpful in helping us make arrangements literally the night before. The Villa was well stocked with kitched, cleaning and beach supplies. The patio out back is optimal place for meals - teaming with wildlife - iguanas and birds on the golf course. Everything was clean and comfortable. Our stay was nice, "nominal" fees for tennis, golf carts and beach club were a little high at the resort but still a very secluded nice place. Not a lot of action - pretty quiet. A few resturants but no night life around aside from the casino. Puerto Rico as a whole was most enjoyable - book things weeks in advance bc snorkel and scuba trips were hard to arrange. The bright spot was the Villa and the ducks and turtles off the back porch - My one issue was that the internet did not work in one bedroom which happened to be the one I was staying in that had no TV so a bit of a bummer there but who needs a TV or computer in Purto Rico.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family really enjoyed our stay at this Palmas Del Mar villa at the end of 2011. Very spacious, quiet and well equiped. The owner, Sarah, is very friendly, providing great information and making the rental process easy. The tennis center is awesome and just a short walk or drive away. Well maintained courts with every surface type are available, many with lights for evening play. Make sure to go horseback riding. The on-site stables are a short drive from the villa. The one hour ride includes golf course views and a ride in the surf. Feed the ducks and turtles on the pond adjacent to the Villa's patio. Stop surfing the net. Book this villa and start surfing at their nice beach.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

I recommend this place if you are looking for a home away from home. This place has everything you need to feel at home. The beach nearby is beautiful and it is a nice place to just hang out for a nice quiet vacation. We rented a golf cart (which is very useful if you don't rent a car to just get around the condo) for a good price. Beautiful place. Thanks!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

When you need to get away from a hectic life of work and recharge your batteries…Palmas Del Mar awaits you. It offers a perfect long weekend of laying by the pool and beach reconnecting and have fun with your best girlfriends. The villa was spacious, comfortable and clean. We had everything we needed right at our finger tips. We did so much in a short period of time. We packed lunch and spent a day laying on the beach. It was a short walk so we carried beach chairs, towels and a cooler from the villa. The water was pristine and perfect for swimming. We spent another day at Liquillo beach...we enjoyed the beach at Palmas much more. Ate at a couple of places within Palmas. We highly recommend the Tex-Mex place in Pamanova Plaza and The Bistro at Fisherman's Village. We walked to the casino on our last night and lost a few dollars--but we had fun doing it! Sarah (the owner) gave us plenty of information prior to our arrival. Drive from the airport was easy and less than 45 minutes. We're keeping an eye on non-stop flights from New York hoping to see paradise one more time before then end of the year.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay at the villa. It was everything Sarah promised. Everything was clean and fresh with all the comforts of home. It provided easy access to the pool, golf, tennis, beach and hotel. We wish we had stayed longer. We were disappointed that only one of the two golf course was open at the time of our visit. But the wonderful walks along the clean, unpopulated beach easily made up for that. We have already recommended the property to our extended family members. The owners were great to work with also.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

My family which includes 2 teenagers stayed at the Villa at Palmas del Mar for a month and it was wonderful. Every morning we wake to the compay of the iguanas, turtles, chango birds, egrets, ducks...all the island creatures that added to our overall enjoyment, and will be missed. We really felt 'como en casa' at home, becuase of all the comforts that the villa provided. The location is also perfect, we traveled to all points of the island, acessing all the major highways easily. We also appriciate the efficent and attentive service of the rental management folks, and especially the owner Sarah, who I found to be very pleasant, attentive, and helpful, it was pleasure interacting with her. We would love stay at the villa in Palmas again:)Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

A recent guest, who stayed with her husband and two children for nearly a month this summer wrote to us recently and had this to say: "Hola / Hello Sarah, Thank you for the photo, the iguanas, turtles, changos, egret...all of the creatures that we added to our enjoyment of Palmas will be missed. My family and I really enjoyed our stay in Puerto Rico, we felt "como en casa" / at home because of all the comforts that your villa/home provided. When and if we visit Puerto Rico again, we would love to stay at the villa in Palmas again. GreciansDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4
