This house is not a hotel, there are no numbers on the doors nor on the rooms’ keys. You won’t find a reception nor waiter in an uniform. At Monte Oliveto you don’t stay, “You Live”!
“Monte Oliveto” is more than just a place to slip: it’s Word home in the heart of Florence. Here you will find a familiar and cozy place in one of the historical quarters of the city: “San Frediano”. The quarter beyond the river Arno is the ideal place for a walk through alleys, squares and ancient artisan stop still keeping their authentic Florentine character.
Being so close to the ancient city walls, just one stop away from the famous Brancacci chapel, the Old Bridge , Signoria Square, the Cathedral, Santa Croce, the Uffizi and all of the most striking spots in Florence, makes San Frediano the favorite quarter for Florentine and their guests.
But Monte Oliveto, a small villa of the early twentieth century, is a quiet place Wheel you can take a break from the traffic’s continuo noise and from the frenetic city life. Its fresh and bright rooms overlook a private garden bordering on a hall chic gives its name to our B&B “Monte Oliveto”. Every morning you will be welcomed by a rich and genuine breakfast, composed of cakes and dishes home made with biological ingredients.
Give yourself a present!! Come to Florence, Monte Oliveto will warm up your heart and help you to always remember this enchanting city, cradle of the Italian Renaissance.

I stayed here with my family for over a week, and I wouldnt change a thing! Donatella greeted us every time with such a warm smile; breakfast every morning was delicious. The bathrooms had everything necessary and every inch of it was spotless. I literally have NO complaints. I cant wait to come back to Florence and see Donatella again, 'cause I wont be staying anywhere else!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My stay at B&B Monte Oliveto was amazing. I was here for 5 nights with other family members and we had a great time. The B&B was VERY clean, really spacious, had great outside seating areas and exceeded my expectations. Donatella, the owner, was really nice, helpful with finding our way around the city and she spoke English as well which really helped. I have been to Florence many times and this is better than any hostel or hotel that I have stayed in. It was really nice coming home after a long day to a clean room! We found the location of the B&B very convenient and we never had to take a cab or a bus anywhere. We enjoyed walking around the city and felt very safe here. I highly recommend Donatella's B&B if you are staying in Florence!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

I lived in Florence in the 1970's and take my family back every few years to visit old friends. This was our first time staying at this Bed and Breakfast----my wife and I, 2 of her relatives from South Africa, and my three children---Donatella is great--excellent breakfasts, speaks English as well, is VERY helpful for any information you need. Whether you are by yourself or as many as 8-9 people, it's a great place since there are as many as 4 separate rooms available. It's very quiet and if you have a car there is parking available. We had a car but preferred to use it only for trips outside Florence since the walk to the center of Florence is only 20-30 minutes from here. Bus service in Florence is great and available right near this B& B. By the way, two great restaurants near this, Pandemonium and Napoleone--not cheap but great food. If you stay here, say hello from Bill and Charmaine in Atlanta!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+.

I had the most wonderful time in Florence Italy, staying at the Monte Oliveto B&B was amazing with the warm hospitality and realxing atmosphere. We were only a few kilometres away from the city centre, which made getting around and seeing florence so easy. Buses were a mere few metres to pick you up if you preferred not to walk. The breakfasts in the morning were lovely having Donatella who runs the B&B greet you with a huge friendly smile, cup of coffee and an assortment of food on the table. Our rooms and bathrooms were equipped with everything necessary, they were cosy and delightful. We felt very welcome there and if I had to go back to Florence I would definately book back into Monte Oliveto as experience at the B&B made seeing Florence that more magical......Did you find this review helpful? I had the pleasure of spending five nights under Donatella's care at the B&B Monte Oiveto this month and have nothing but good things to say about my experience. My single room with shared bath was charming, the breakfast was always delicious and generous, and Donatella was gracious. She offered excellent restaurant suggestions, reserved museum tickets for me before arrival and even offered laundry service. The location was close enough to the action by foot or bus, but in a nice quiet residential area. It was a wonderful place to stay while exploring Florence for the first time, as it felt very much like a home. For me traveling on my own, this was ideal. It was also a very good value in an expensive city. I hope someday to return to Florence and to the B&B Monte Oliveto.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had a wonderful hostess in Donatella. She was warm, friendly and made us feel totally welcome, although it was midnight by the time we arrived at her doorstep thanks to unexpected delays in our train connections. The fact that she laid out great breakfast spreads was an added bonus. Our room was large, airy (thanks to a quaint little balcony), cheerfully done up and spotlessly clean. The B&B is located in a quiet residential lane, a 10 minute walk from the river and about 20 minutes (walk) from Piazza MichelAngelo. Although most of the must-do things are on the other side of the river (with the exception of Piazza MichelAngelo and its spectacular views), we were pleased with the location. There are some great restaurants in the neighbourhood as well (ask Donatella for directions). Nicolo and Donatella were most accomodating with all our little requests: We had access to the living room (and wifi) late into the night, to the kitchen when we needed; Donatella was even happy to pack us a late evening snack in our room and had plenty of useful tips for us on things to do and not to do on our outings. On the whole we enjoyed our stay and will certainly be staying here again on our next visit to this charming cityDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed in the honeymoon suite which came with a private terrace over the garden, and a four post bed. It was clean, elegant and charming. Florence was smaller than other cities we visited and Oltrarno was a very short walk to the city centre. Our host was so lovely and prepared a sizable breakfast which we enjoyed in the garden, weather permitting. A great retreat and our favorite place on our trip to Italy.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

After a lot of research we felt that B & B Oliveto would suit our requirements It was clear that Danatella was keen on the personal touch and her attention to detail shone through our stay there . Everything about the house, the breakfasts and the conversations had that extra touch of care and attention that leaves a lasting impression .We were highly satisfied with our room the beautiful terrace patio breakfasts with delicious pancakes, fruit ,drizzled olive oil breads expressos all served with a smile and a seamingly effortless perfection .We actually preferred that side of the Arno and loved meandering back via Santo Spirito and stopping for a spritzer or a coffee after a long hot day in the city .Donatella was always available to answer any queries and we felt very welcome.there was a nice atmosphere that made breakfasts interesting and an enjoyable start to the day Well done Donatella for giving so much care to your guests We did appreciate it and would not hesitate to recommend her establishment ! Thank youDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Monte Oliveto is located across the river from the heart of Florence. It's only a 15 minute walk to the city center, but it's nice being tucked away from all the tourists. Donatella and Nicolò were absolutely delightful hosts! Donatella answered all of our questions about the city and even more. She gave great restaurant recommendations, offered to make reservations for us and call a taxi if we needed it. The backyard of the house is beautiful -- such a perfect little garden hidden on the hillside of Florence. Herbs and small plants are perfectly scattered around. Breakfast is served outside in the backyard. Words cannot describe how delicious the breakfast is! Fresh fruit, bruschetta, cheese, jams and spreads, raw honey, crepes, breakfast cakes, coffee, tea and homemade juice fill the table. My husband and I have stayed at dozens of B&B across Europe and the United States, and this by far has been our favorite! If we are in Florence again, Mount Oliveto will be the place we stay.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
