We spent a week here in June and found it to be just as described, possibly more secluded than I expected but absolutely a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. We took outings everyday, including several to Mueller State Park (great for hiking) and The Crags. We also visited the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center and the Florissant Fossil site. We went whitewater rafting in Buena Vista, as well - a great adventure. You'll find everything you need for a comfortable stay here!
Owner response:KayLynn, We are so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay. I agree that it is peaceful and relaxing in a beautiful mountain environment. Making memories that last a lifetime is priceless! Thanks again and you are welcome to return anytime. Kindest regards, Sue

Our family shared 5 nights together in this beautiful and private mountain home. The views were stunning. Lots of wildlife. Great location. Quiet and private. If you are looking for something fun to do, the South Platte River is a great tubing river. Just continue down highway 24 beyond Divide. There is a great little market that even sells tubes for $20! Great fun!

We wanted to come to the Colorado Springs area for our family vacation. We love this website (VRBO) it was a great way to find a home to stay in. There were 7 of us and we wanted a home - not a motel - to stay in. This home is beautiful and clean and it added so much to our vacation. The owner was (and still is) very kind and quick in replying to questions as we made our plans. The location is BEAUTIFUL - very secluded. That's what we wanted - it took a little longer to get to the attractions than if we would have stayed in the city, but it's worth the drive. You get to drive through some beautiful scenery to get there. I would HIGHLY recommend this home to anyone. It's Pet friendly....that's another reason we decided on this house. Our daughter and son in law brought their Golden Retriever (Baxter) Colorado is a very dog friendly area. The descriptions of the house are very accurate. It does only have 1 bathroom but even with 7 of us, we worked around that. It wasn't a big problem. Some of our favorite activities were: Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge Bridge (much better than I expected) Pikes Peak. 4 in our group (our daughter, son in law, 2 of their friends) did the Manitou Incline and said it was the "hardest thing they've ever done" but said they would do it again. They LOVED it and said the views were incredible. The rest of us drove to Pikes Peak that day....it was beautiful. We also went to the Pikes Pike International Hill Climb. It's only held once a year but we happened to be there that weekend. We weren't sure what to expect but we had a great time. We met some wonderful people and enjoyed the day thoroughly.

Adele, SanDiego, California Cathy Indianapolis IN and Lucy woof woof PS We saw lots of chipmunks, squirrels, many beautiful birds and lots of deer including a momma deer and her two spotted fawns and a 10 point buck,-very handsome. 8-8-09 to 8-13-09 We had a great vacation in this cabin. We love the view and we saw several deer from the porch. We really enjoyed the whitewater rafting and having dinner at Flying W Ranch. On our way to the house we saw a mountain lion but we were disappointed about not seeing a bear. Thanks for renting us the house. The Allens and the Terveers

Cannot believe how lucky I am at 6:30 am, just before leaving, I saw two black bears. One I guess was a baby. Other one was black with a gold patch on his back.

5-5-09 Just got here and it’s as awesome as expected. We made the rode trip without killing each other barely. Looking forward to this next week. Wish it was longer. Made our first exploration of the surrounding mountain sides. Feels like we’re the only two people for a thousand miles. Made our trip to the wolf and wildlife preserve a few miles away. Actually sat and petted two huge and loveable wolves. Once in a lifetime experience for sure! A great, great walk through Garden of the Gods – incredible! Also, we visited the IAFF Fallen Firefighters Monument in Memorial Park. I’ve been there several times in the past as part of the annual honor guard ceremony. But today I felt a different kind of emotion walking across the empty parade ground and standing at the wall. Hard to hold back tears thinking of the families receiving a folded flag throughout the years. A beautiful, yet difficult place to visit. A beautiful clear and still night watching the sky before bed last night. We found ourselves at the Air Force Academy – extremely impressive chapel and overall tour. Made our way into the nearby mountain range to look at Crags and experience winter in May. Plenty of snow and fast-moving streams – amazing! The last night is here darn it. Climbed Seven Falls today and explored Manitou Springs. A cold front has come through the mountains. Thanks so much to Sue and Ron. Aaron Parker and Nancy Espinoza
