Come "Outback" and see the gorgeous views from your cozy vacation getaway! You'll find plenty of room in this bottom floor of a single family home. It is closed off from the upstairs where your hosts live, and has it's own private entrance. Every effort has been made to provide you with a quiet, peaceful and relaxing stay. You will enjoy amazing views of the mountains and the end of Lost Creek Lake below. There is also a private walking road down to the lake and the Rogue River where you will find hiking trails, foot bridges and little waterfalls. Bring your fishing poles! German Brown trout are waiting! You might even catch a glimpse of a bald eagle or osprey.
Lost Creek Lake is just a few minutes down Hwy. 62, where you can hike the trails, bike or enjoy a day on the lake fishing or boating. Crater Lake is about a 40 minute drive away, with many things to explore along the way. Diamond Lake is within an hour and beyond that is a circuit of spectacular waterfalls. Want to shop? Shady Cove has some quaint little shops and Ashland and the historic town of Jacksonville are within an hours drive. Take a jet boat trip to Hell's Gate Canyon out of Grants Pass, also about an hour away, or raft the Rogue out of Shady Cove! So many things to do and enjoy, you won't be disappointed! Or just relax and read a book and take in the beautiful surroundings! It's your vacation! We look forward to your visit!

We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The house is well appointed, very clean and attention is paid to every detail from ample towels/blankets, to chocolates in the candy dish and tea bags/hot chocolate to enjoy. The beds were extremely comfortable and the cabin is in a very peaceful location. We visited Crater Lake where we took the boat ride, and went to Grants Pass where we took the Hellgate jetboat trip down the Rogue River. Dinner at the Prospect Hotel was very good, and we felt that it was a good value for the price. Thank you Karen and Bill for a wonderful visit !!

Dear Bill and Karen, As I sit here on a warm summer evening awaiting the stars to grace the sky, I don't know how to summarize my week at "Outback". What a special place and what wonderful hosts. This is exactly what I was looking for and more. Crater Lake is the "eighth" wonder of the world and having the privilege of doing a boat trip on that lake is a moment that I will never forget. I went to Ashland twice to see as many plays and soak in the atmosphere of one of the most charming/professional theater festival. Unforgettable. And what about Klamath Falls and surrounding wildlife refuge, unbelievable. And yes, I had time to swim in the different lakes, barbecue to my hearts content and sleep soundly every night. I wish Karen and Bill all the best and hope that many more guests discover this little piece of Oregon paradise. Blessings, Suzanne

Bill and Karen, We had a wonderful week here. You have a lovely house and the area is beautiful. Even though we were a little early for Crater Lake we had a great time there, as well as some of the other attractions in the area. The kids really enjoyed fishing and raspberry picking. I will definitely recommend this to all my friends and we look forward to coming back again in the not to distant future. Thanks for everything.

We have had a very relaxing 2 days. This home is beautiful and picturesque. We will definitely return. The hosts are so polite and accommodating. We are with a group of 35 people who are camping at Stewart Park. We chose this home and are very happy!

We had a fantastic week of nature and memories here at the "outback" of Oregon! The house has everything we needed and we found Bill and Karen most helpful for tidbits of information. The highlights for us were Mill Creek Falls and Avenue of the Boulders right here in Prospect! Wonderful walk and photo-ops! Also, the Hellgate jetboat trip out of Grants Pass, rafting out of Shady Cove and of course Crater Lake! What a wonderful day trip!!! We also enjoyed the opening day of the Britt Festival in Jacksonville; music and wine tasting! The basket with tourist information really has all the attractions. We hope that many others will enjoy the area as we have and when we return we will be able to read about your adventures!
