Vacation with all the comforts of home. The Shire House is ideally located in the Village of East Burke. It is an old 1832 farm house that has been restored and added on to. The house comes with a large yard, plenty of parking and a playground across the street for children. There is also a farmers porch where you can sit and watch town parades go by. It is furnished to be warm and comfortable. The house has a large front to back living room, dining room, large eat-in kitchen, and mudroom complete with washer/dryer. Well behaved dogs are welcome and an outdoor kennel is available on site. Burke Mountain, the Kingdom Trails and the VAST Trails are all readily accessible.

My family and I were thrilled with our experience at the Shire House. Both the owners and the property manager were incredibly helpful and pleasant. The house is in perfect condition and right in town by Bailey and Burke's and Burke mountain. The way the house is laid out is perfect for kids and families. It is by far the best rental we've had (and we've had a bunch!!!) -ValRecommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
