You won't find cable TV, broadband connection or other technological conveniences at our rental. Instead we offer unbelievable solitude, wildlife viewing, and unspoiled wilderness. Oh, and then there's the 1/2 mile of Blue Ribbon trout stream running through our 80 acres, as well as miles of undeveloped river up and down stream! It's not unusual to spend a day on the river away from crowds, casting to numerous Brown and Cutthroat Trout.
The house is designed with large picture windows across the front, from which you can see herds of Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, moose, deer and soaring eagles in the meadow. In view a short distance beyond, is some of the best holding water on this part of Rock Creek. Go down in your slippers and catch something before breakfast or cast in the productive last light of the evening.
The main suite is frankly huge and features an attached bath with shower, a fly tying desk and comfortable seating. The two other bedrooms (one double and one with two twin beds)are accessed through the large indoor greenhouse. They are decorated in Old West and fly fishing collectibles. There is a shared bathroom nearby with a large shower. We can arrange for additional roll-away bed(s) with advance notice. The kitchen is fully equipped and faces the outdoor view. An island separates it from the dining area and together this creates an open space which has proven a favorite for creative cooking and lively entertaining.
We are located about 15 miles west of Philipsburg Montana. Activities requiring about an hour or less drive include: a world class golf course, ghost towns, live theatre, restaurants, downhill skiing (Discovery Basin), lake fishing or boating (Georgetown Lake), mountain hiking or camping (Anaconda Pintler Wilderness), old logging roads for mountain biking.
