Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2003
We are a newly married couple who were dating ten years prior to tying the knot. We live in Pasadena.
Why the Owner Chose Santa Monica
My husband (then boyfriend) used to live in the condo when he worked in the Santa Monica area. We decided to keep it when he was transferred to Pasadena to use as a weekend home/vacation rental.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
When my husband lived in the condo, we would wake up each Saturday and Sunday morning and walk to Montana Avenue for breakfast and coffee. We loved the location and would rarely drive our cars on the weekend. I often jogged to the beach for exercise and we spent many evenings wandering around the Third Street Promenade. There were always celebrities to spot on Montana Avenue as well - Simon Baker, Alyson Hannigan, and Marg Helgenberger all live nearby.

We stayed here for 2 wks over the Christmas period, 2011. A very pleasant, comfortable and clean condo, exactly as described and pictured on the VRBO site. The owners were very helpful and answered any questions we had to our satisfaction. It's in a lovely, quiet, and clean neighborhood with easy access to shops, cafes, and restaurants on Montana Ave., (a chic and upscale street in Santa Monica), and abt 30 mins. walk to the beach. There's also plenty of shopping on Wiltshire Blvd., abt 7 mins. walk from the condo. You can rent bikes on the beach, go jogging along the beach or around the neighborhood, and go hiking in the nearby Will Rogers State Park. There are lots of attractions in and around LA -- all easy to get to from the condo. A great place for a family to stay; safe and well-maintained. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to come again.

I scored gold when I choose this place for my weeks stay in Santa Monica. The area is quiet (slept soundly) and safe (met a couple walking there cats at 10pm at night). You can walk a couple of blocks to a cafe or restaurant and enjoy lots of boutique shopping on Montana Avenue or head the other way to the busy Santa Monica centre. I wanted for nothing in this accommodation. The owners have thought of everything and also supply you with the extras you would normally grab while you are out exploring, like maps, bus routes, cafe menus, etc. If you have forgotten anything, I guarantee it will be there somewhere. The beds are comfy, the place is roomy, we felt like queens. We walked everyday to the beach and the pier for exercise and I found my favourite restaurant there, Seed Kitchen. I am definitely staying there when I visit Santa Monica again.

We drove down from the SF bay area with our 1 year old for a fun and relaxing week in LA. We couldn't have asked for a better arrangement! The condo is spacious, clean and fully stocked with everything you can think of. The location is superb! The neighborhood actually reminded us of our neighborhood back home - quaint with lots of friendly joggers, dog walkers and baby strollers. Best of all, it's a short 2-block walk to the nearest Starbucks, Whole Foods, and all the neat little shops on Montana Ave (including Father's Office which has the BEST burgers ever). It's also a very nice stroll down to the beach and 3rd street. Lindsay was a gracious host, making sure that we had everything that we needed. She has put together a gigantic binder full of useful materials, pamphlets and menus to nearby restaurants. She even emailed me a special coupon to a nearby store the day before our arrival. We really appreciated all of her special touches! We can't wait to go back!

What a wonderful space! The rooms are large and light and the beds are beyond comfortable! Lindsay has stocked the condo with everything you could possibly need for your visit and she is so quick to respond to any questions or concerns you may have. I returned to my home in AZ on Friday and my deposit was in the mail on Monday. Such a great experience. We will definitely rent here again!

We rented this condo for one week. We have two young children (ages 2 and 4), and hotel rooms are not an option for us at this stage! The listing description and directions given were accurate and helpful. We thought the actual condo looked bigger and brighter than the pictures in the listing. We couldn't have been happier, and will definitely rent here again the next time we're in town. The location was great, and Santa Monica is wonderful. The owners were super responsive, professional, friendly, and gracious. We got our deposit back quickly and without any issue. All of our activites included kids in tow, and the area is pretty kid-friendly. Douglas Park is really close, and has a great playground (even for older kids), with lots of ducks and turtles to look at too. It was really, really hot that day, and my only complaint about Douglas Park is that the playground doesn't have a lot of shade. We could have walked there from the condo, but we drove and parking was not an issue. Reed Park is nearby with a smaller (but shadier) playground than Douglas Park. Both are great options for little ones. We went to the farmer's market which was crowded but fun. They had a pony ride for the kids, live music, and a petting zoo. Lots of wonderful fresh fruit and veggies. We also went to the Getty Museum, which is amazing. We weren't able to take the time to appreciate all of the wonderful art (due to chasing our kids, etc.), but just being there and walking the grounds and the gardens was worth the price of parking ($15/car, admission is free). They have a great "family room", which is interactive and the kids loved it. The mid-range priced restaurant there was wonderful, with breathtaking views of the city. Of course the Santa Monica Pier was great, too. Lots of fun stuff, rides, etc. All in all, our vacation was a success, and we are trying to figure out when we can come back again soon!

From the moment we walked in the door and saw the bottle of wine and the coffee for the next day, I knew that we had picked the right place to stay. The condo is roomy and bright and the accomodations more than sufficient for two adults and our two children; ages 10 & 11. My 11 year old declared the couch the most comfortable couch that he has slept on. The location is wonderful, within walking distance of Montana Street shops, but our favorite shopping hang-out was the 3rd Street Promanade. The ocean was only 1.5 miles away and we visited the Santa Monica Pier and the beach several times. Lindsay thought of everything for our stay and the notebook with tidbits of information was extremely helpful!

We rented for 2 weeks, visiting our daughter and son-in-law who live just a few blocks away and we could not have been happier with our choice. This lovely condo was exactly as described and more....clean, comfortable, light and airy, a great location from which to explore Santa Monica and LA, and just about everything you will need is provided. It's in a great neighborhood - a short walk to Montana - 1 mile from the beach and promenade- parking spot is provided - use of a washing machine and dryer - plentiful towels - use of a computer and printer - TVs in the bedrooms and living room - dvds and games - a nicely stocked kitchen - recommendations, brochures and menus for restaurants, spas, yoga and tourist activities - in short, the owners have created a real home away from home. They also happen to be a pleasure to deal with. We look forward to going back in the future.

This was my chance to see whether I might like spending winters in the LA area as I stayed here for a full month. The condo more than exceeded my expectations. It was large, comfortable, and the location couldn't have been better. More than enough restaurants to walk to or order carry out, and a short drive to many others in Santa Monica. My husband jogged daily to the beach (1.1 mi away) and through Palisades Park. The description provided was accurate and the photos were as well. The home was clean and the property well-maintained. I couldn't have asked for more. Would certainly recommend this place to everyone.

This 2 BR/2BA spacious condo is located just 1 1/2 blocks from the boutiques and friendly restaurants on Montana Avenue, where shopping and dining is available for various tastes and budgets. One can easily do a little grocery shopping (Whole Foods), get their nails done (at least two salons), sport a new haircut (local barbershop); try on some new duds from $20 to $2000, eat some pancakes, bagels, sushi, or chicken vindaloo! The beach is just 1 1/2 miles away; so it's a splendid run down to the beach! The condo is a typical 1970's Santa Monica condo. It is spacious and clean, has a parking spot, and a computer for you to access the Internet. The host gets back to you immediately with all necessary paperwork and deposit refund.
