We have stayed on two occasions - in July and September - both for a week. A great place to settle in with a great view of Admiralty Inlet. The water scene is mesmerizing and constantly changing - ferries, boats, cloud formations, birds, and sunsets. The apartment is lovely. How many apartments are filled with original art! To the extent that there is a downside - you have to make adjustments for the constant trains rumbling by - and often blowing their whistles. When the doors are closed and you are in bed trying to sleep it is not a problem, however. You also need to anticipate that on warm days there will be a constant stream of walkers and cars moving past the property since it sits on Edmonds greatest scenic drive. Wonderful if you like to people watch - not so great if you are seeking a quiet and private place. The owner is the best and very friendly. We plan to come back again and again......
Owner response:Thanks so much for coming. Glad the dates worked out and we sure look forward to seeing you both again! Hope all is well!

My wife and I LOVED this rental! Put the kid in bed and enjoy the spectacular sunsets from the front patio with a nice glass of wine... a fantastic place to unwind! Our son loved the beach just a short stroll down Sunset Ave. Watching the ferries and trains come and go provided great entertainment for him, and there are several nice restaurants and coffee shops just down the street for mom and dad. We heard the trains the first night, but after that we used a window fan for a bit of white noice and never noticed them again - not an issue at all. Jim and Jeff were great hosts - there if you needed them, but never intrusive. We would recommend this to anyone, and already have recommened it to several friends.

We spent a very pleasant week-end recently in this charming apartment. Very easy to find and so convenient to everything Edmond's has to offer. Walked to the ferry, restaurants and around the peaceful neighborhood. The unit was very well equipped and clean which added to our comfort and enjoyment.
Owner response:We're glad that you were able to come and stay with us. While we usually rent by the week, in your situation our prior guests had to attend to some other business and so it all worked out great for you to complete their week. Hope to see you again soon!

I hesitated to write a review since we'd like to keep this GEM all to ourselves. I lived in Edmonds 12 years before moving away so know the area well and wanted the perfect spot for a week's stay. Jim and Jeff's place delivered in spades! You couldn't ask for a more perfect location with gorgeous sunsets overlooking the water nightly. My local friends came to THIS RENTAL each night for cocktails since this view surpassed all of their homes! J & J have done a fabulous job of remodeling/decorating the units and any item you could need on vacation is provided. J & J themselves are fabulous folk and, as we plan to come to their home again (and again!), we are looking forward to a continued friendship with them. Cheers!
Owner response:Hey Karla and Peter, Well, we're glad that you were able to work it out so you could stay with us. It was great getting to know you both. It really is a small world discovering our mutual friends! I'm looking forward to seeing them in September.

Great stay

I stayed in this unit for three months during the winter. My first impression was that it everything I could need and more. The owner obviously took the time and effort to offer the simple details that turn a unit into a home. No matter what I looked for (an ice cream scoop, premium chanels on t.v., pots, pans...) I always quickly found them. Obviously, it's nearly impossible to replicate the area -great views, quiet neighbors, a quick walk to restaurants...but the unit itself was clean, extremely comfortable and well-maintained. The final point that can't be missed is that the owner lives in one of the other units and is friendly, courteous and always adamant that his guests enjoy their stay. Great experience and highly recommended.
Owner response:It was great to have you here with us for 3 months. Jeff and I hope that the new book is as successful as your last two!

Living in the area we needed to find a place for family to stay for the week. We found The Sunset through FRBO and could not be more pleased. The two bedroom was just beautiful and the views of Puget Sound, the Olympics and the ferry were all spectacular (which our place had this kind of view). This place was very well maintained and it was nice to be able to sit out on the patio watching the ships, trains and even cruise lines on the weekends go by with a glass of wine in hand. Downtown Edmonds is within easy walking distance with its shops, restaraunts, coffee shops and even a quaint little wine bar situated next to the movie theater. It's also nice that Seattle is only 20 mins away (downtown) so all the sites of Seattle are close at hand. We would recommend as well to get on the Kingston Ferry and take a ride on one of the ferry's while anyone is there. Jim and Jeff the owners are more than willing to help out with any information and even chat it up on the patio sometimes BBQ'ing and sharing a meal. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away, relax, and enjoy the beauty of the Pacific NW.
Owner response:Thanks so much for taking the time to write the review. Still enjoying the sunsets. I'm sad that summer is slipping away so rapidly. Come back and see us again soon!
