The Plantation Estate was the recent site for my daughter's wedding. Due to regular trips to Oahu I had the chance to visit the property 2 years ago. From that point on we had a wonderful working relationship with Tania, the property manager, and no doubts. Our family was able to stay, play, and connect all in one place. It was wonderful to wake up in the morning and take in the 360 degree view! If you want perfectly manufactured pretend island decor then look for a place in Waikiki. If you want a natural setting with the beauty of the land then this is it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

All I can say is that the site was perfect for our friends and family, and our wedding. Everyone who attended and stayed at the house said that it was a perfect site for a get together and a beautiful venue for a wedding. We had a blast and it was perfect for entertaining. I cannot say enough about how beautiful the views were. Tania was awesome, and even when we had some problems with the company we rented equipment from, she was quick to get us and our minds back on what was important... our wedding. I highly recommend the Plantation Estate. My family is already planning a return trip to Oahu and we will definitely be returning to the Plantation! We recently stayed at this property for a weekend in February. We had a large group and needed a quiet place for relaxation and team meetings. The Plantation Estate was perfect! From the initial meeting with the property manager, to the final goodbye, everything was done to ensure we had an enjoyable time. Tania Mahoni handled the arrangements with professionalism and kindness. She returned my calls promptly and made special arrangements that we needed. The property itself is perfect for a large group, with lots of outdoor space and covered areas for meeting or eating. The kitchen makes feeding a large group very convenient, and the sleeping arrangements gave us plenty of flexibility. Our stay was more than we expected, and we would encourage any large group to consider this Plantation Estate. An excellent choice!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This place was everything we didn't expect. We didn't think it would be so great. It is simple but just absolutely perfect in every way. It is an old style Hawaiian Plantation property that is nestled between the mountains and ocean and is just incredible. If you are looking for top of the line amenities then you will have to pay the price for a property that has that and trust me we looked and the prices are ridiculous. Here everything was just perfect and sufficient for us. Fantastic kitchen, pool, grounds - everything. We were out and about and came home to just relax and there is just such a peaceful feeling about the property. Could use some updating and I know they are working on that but amazing, amazing property. Fantastic Property Manager and caretaker - really helpful in every way. It is just perfect for families wanting to enjoy a real piece of Hawaii and just fall in love with where you stay at the same time. We will be back.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

The Plantation Estate is incredible. The pictures truly do not do justice to how beautiful and astonishing this property is. All of the five star reviews do. I rented this place with 18 of my family and friends for five nights, and we had a small wedding here (both the ceremony and reception). Everybody was so full of praise for the locale. It is so beautiful. The mountain behind you, the ocean across the street. You can actually wade out into the ocean directly across the house and snorkel with a bunch of brightly colored fish! The property is very large. Even with 18 people living there, it did not feel crowded. We didn't even make use of the large indoor living room / game room, because we spent most of our time outside, lounging by the pool or on the lanai on comfortable lounge chairs. The kitchen is also great for putting together meals for everyone. It is VERY well stocked with lots of kitchen equipment. My sister even baked the wedding cake there. There are multiple refridgerators and even a wine chiller. About the bedrooms: most of them are very nice. There is a private honeymooner's suite that is gorgeous and set well apart from the other two buildings for privacy. There are 2 very nice master bedrooms in the main house. However, there are a few bedrooms that are smaller and crammed together in the third building. These clearly weren't originally separate bedrooms. Four of these rooms share a single bathroom. One of the bedrooms is barely big enough for the twin bed in it. These three rooms (One with a single twin, one with a full/queen, and one with two twins) are adjoining each other and actually connected with slatted doors, which it is possible to see through, so there is very little privacy. You can hear everything too. I think given how incredible the rest of the property is, this wasn't a huge deal for us, but you should definitely consider it if you have people who need a lot of privacy or don't want to share a bathroom. Having the wedding here was a dream. We had rental equipment dropped off and catering here with no problem. The hair/makeup people came to the estate as well. There are so many great locations. There is actually a little stone stage where we had the ceremony. There is a cute gazebo, a bridge across the pool, gorgeous blooms of flowers. There is a great pavilion where we had dancing. This place is truly a perfect setting for a wedding. We strung up lanterns and an outdoor projector screen between the palm trees!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My husband and I just got back from our wonderfully perfect wedding at the Plantation Estate. We and 20 of our friends and family stay at the estate with us, and we had 40 guests all together at the wedding reception...and it was so great! Most, if not all of them left saying it was the BEST wedding experience they had ever had!! (and we aren't young!) The experience you will have staying at the Plantation Estate is one of true Hawaii... The property was very well kept, The grass was green and luscious, the pool was sparkling clean, who needs a hotub in Hawaii anyway, it is WAY too hot for that nonsense!! We had so much fun jumping in the pool after our wedding! They even had some boogie boards and a few masks for us to use, extra towels, toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, etc, that they weren't required to provide for us!! Also it is on a side of the island that is not spoiled by tourism, you are close to Kualoa Ranch (where Lost and Jurassic Park were filmed), The Polynesian Cultural Center, relatively close to Laniakea (Turtle Beach), Haleiwa Town, Dole Plantation, and even Hanauma Bay... Our first night in we wanted to grill up some burgers to eat and there was no gas in the tanks for the grills, as soon as we contacted Tania, within 10 minutes we had gas, and the grill was going. Some people might have been upset about there not being any gas in the tanks to begin with, but come one people, this is a place run by humans, ever heard of human error?? why are some of these reviews so harsh?! Also a day into our stay the internet started freaking out on us, and within 60 minutes they had the internet company guy there setting up a new modem! So great!!! The place was truly magical, the mountains in the back and the ocean right in front was such a beautiful backdrop for our wedding! This place rocks! The pictures are very close, but can't even do this place justice it is so beautiful! I would HIGHLY recommend anyone who is looking for a place for a family vacation, or a wedding, or an office getaway...and OMG!! Who said this place was overpriced?! Are you kidding me? Did you do any research? For that much land, with that much space for accommodations, in that gorgeous location, you won't find a better deal!! AND the property manager was SO on top of it!! Our recent stay was everything we had hoped for and more. The kitchen is well-stocked and the stove is a cook's dream and easily accommodated cooking for our group. The covered stone patio provides a wonderful dining/party area, as does the wide wrap around porch on the main house. The rental agent was friendly, easy to work with and very helpful. We had a great wedding right on the property and even found a local, wonderful cook to prepare our dinner and breakfast the next day. They don't require a ton of clean up and returned our deposit quickly. We can't wait to return and can't say enough about the warm vibes that travel along the ocean breeze and settle onto the plantation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The people from Hawaii talk about the "mana" ... the spirit of the land. How true this is about The Plantation Estate @ Ka'aawa, a land blessed and spirited. And for us our "ohana" ...family is the very essence..core of our life. How true this is about the respectfulness we received by The Planation Estate @ Ka'aawa's property manager Tania Mahoni. Coordinating my first wedding for my one and only daughter's wedding, who lives on the mainland and would not be able to fly home till one day before her wedding, my husband and I could not have been more blessed than we could have ever imagined discovering The Plantation Estate @ Ka'aawa and someone as wonderful as Tania to work with us. The vastness of the property with the scenic ocean beach, palm trees and swimming pool afforded us flexibility and comfortableness accommodating our family, new in-laws, friends, caterers, and rental company.The caterers had a roomy kitchen with industrial stove for all the food preparations. The two open lanais, rolling knolls and open landscape provided spaciousness for the availability of having a multitude of buffet food stations and tables and chairs spacing. The outdoor natural staging area with the beach in the background provided the venue for a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony. At first we were challenged about the limited amount of guests allowed. We were able to solve the problem simply by having a reception of guests over different days. This made each reception personal and intimate. The weather was just perfect. God blessed us each day with morning showers and rainbows, sunny trade wind days and evenings. Having been raised and living in the city, everyone immensely enjoyed spending time watching and feeding the family of roosters, chickens, and chicks on the property...enjoying this simple pleasure of life. Exceptional and important to me was the cleanliness and well cared for outdoor landscaping, 3 buildings of living areas,10 bedrooms, and 8 bathrooms. For my daughter and new son-in-law this was a dream wedding come true. Our fondest and deepest aloha and mahalo nui loa to The Plantation Estate @ Ka'aawa and wonderful Tania. My wife and I were married here less then a month ago. We spent the entire week leading up to our wedding with our family at the Plantation Estate. The location was so beautiful. Having the majestic mountains stretching up behind the property as well as the bright blue ocean to the East, this property provided us everything we needed for a special week, and an amazing wedding. We had 22 people staying the entire week. We had 60 of our family and friends attend a rehearsal dinner as well as the wedding and reception the following day. It was absolutely perfect for what we wanted, a comfortable intimate wedding and party. The grounds were amazing, the pool was awesome, the large open patio spaces were ideal for lounging around. The large kitchen stove and BBQ allowed us to cook large meals with ease. The staff was also very helpful and accessible when ever needed. There is nothing better then being in the Hawaiian Countryside away from the city! An ideal location for large groups.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children.

We stayed at the Plantation and had a wonderful experience. It felt like we were alone in in our own private piece of the island - very relaxing. Beautiful views and easy access made this a place we'll visit again. Not a big fan of the occasional early morning rooster. There aren't many places that can accommodate a family our size. Thanks Tania and Chris for making our visit memorable.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
