We put careful consideration while remodeling our condo and made it as eco-friendly as possible so you can be kind to the environment while relaxing on your vacation.
Here's what we have done:
1. 80% of the wood used in the renovation came from sustainably harvested sources (Forest Stewardship Council Certification).
2. We removed walls to maximize outdoor lighting and help eliminate the need for interior lighting during the day.
3. We installed low flush toilets and water-saving faucets.
4. We installed a reverse osmosis water filtration system and supplied stainless-steel water bottles so that you don't have to purchase plastic water bottles.
5. Our bedroom set is made from Teak wood that was sustainably harvested in Indonesia.
6. The queen size mattress is made from natural rubber and organic cotton & wools.
7. Bed linens and bath towels are made from 100% organic cotton.
8. Our comfortable pillows are made from 100% natural rubber.
9. Our hot water comes from solar-hot water heaters on the roof.
10. We supply eco-friendly yoga mats made from Jute fibers.
11. Both the living room and bedroom have a combination of high-efficiency lights and dimmable lights to maximize energy conservation without compromising lighting options.
We are centrally located and within walking distance to beaches, grocery stores, a movie theater, surfing, bars, shops, beach volley ball, tennis, soccer, roller-blading rink and basketball courts. By staying at this condo, you don't need to rent a car!

Why the Owner Chose Kalama Terrace
We chose to purchase in this location because we wanted to be right in the heart of everything that is great about Kihei. a quarter mile south is Kihei's nicest and largest beach (Charlie Young/Kamaole 1). A quarter mile north is Kihei's best surfing spot. North of us is grocery stores, movie theatres, Kalama Park, shops, restaurants, bars etc. South of us is more beaches and shops. If we bought a place any further south, it would be unpractical to walk up to the places I described, and if we bought a place any further north, the beaches would be to far to walk to. We wanted to be able to walk everywhere we needed to go for day to day activities and being off of busy South Kihei Rd on a dead end street, this location fit the bill.

Hi Ryan, Just wanted to let you know that we had a great time in Maui. Your condo in Kihei was in a fantastic location (close to the beach, restaurants and stores). We would definitely love to come back and stay at your place again. Thank you for getting the fridge fixed so quickly. The amenities such as the filtered water were a bonus. The benefits to your condo were greatly appreciated. The reverse osmosis system was invaluable! The television was wonderful, especially while watching the Olympics......even though the broadcast was so Americanized. The kitchen was well stocked as indicated on your web site. Adding a blender may be a good idea. Some people may appreciate an iron and ironing board. The design of the shower is excellent. Glass blocks.....great idea! We took advantage of the free calling to Canada....Fantastic! We very much enjoyed Virginia's company and help. She is a definite asset as a neighbour. She was hilarious! What a sense of houmour. We certainly don't intend on overwhelming you with the above suggestions for improvements. We very much enjoyed our stay, and will return to Canada with numerous memories of this beautiful island. Aloha Ryan, We want to let you know that we had an amazing time in Kihei. Your condo must be one of a kind on Maui. We completely loved all of the amenities and location. While living in Portland, OR, we have grown accustom to the organic foods and products. Having a natural foods market down the street with natural sunscreens and aftersun products was perfect. We absolutely wanted for nothing in the condo with the filtered water and delightful design. We slept so soundly in the bed and soft sheets. Thanks again for allowing us to stay at your place. It was a truly refreshing get-away and we hope to go back with our kids so that they can enjoy all the activities and surroundings as well. (We know we can't stay at your place 'as a family' or we would in a heart beat!) What we can do (and will do) is recommend your place highly to our friends and family who are planning to cross the Pacific. (You are listed in our 'favorites'.) I think we got extremely lucky to find your place and will be 'spoiled' trying to be satisfied anywhere else in the future! (We also took good care of Virginia while we were there; gave her fresh veggies and our 'left over' items on our sad departure.
