We enjoyed our stay in the mountains near the Monarch ski area. The house was clean and had all of the amenties of home including games and a foosball table for the kids. The biggest drawback was getting in and out of the driveway due to a blind spot when pulling out onto the highway. The driveway is narrow and we would recommend a 4 wheel drive in the winter. The house had a wonderful wood stove that kept the house toasty warm. We had 6 people that stayed in the home and had plenty of room to spread out. Bathrooms were small but served the purpose. The house has a nearby caretaker and we were able to call him with a question about the tv set-up.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

We had a great time at this cabin. The cabin has lots of room and sleeping accomodations, very comfortable. Good location to travel to different areas for water rafting, skiing, jeep rentals, shopping, anything you would want to do. Great fishing close by also. We would definitely come back again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

My extended family (7 people total) spent 4 nights in this mountain resort home. The home is well represented in the photos on this site. We had plenty of room to just relax and enjoy each others company. In the evening we grilled on the provided grill, the kitchen was roomy and well equipped. There is a nice deck with plenty of seating so that conversation can be enjoyed while grilling. Most of our activites were located in nearby Salida...whitewater rafting and zip-lining. We took a trip a few miles farther to Buena Vista to bike down from Cottonwood pass. We enjoyed both Salida and Buena Vista, both interesting river walk towns with artsy and cute downtown areas. I would highly recommend this property. There are many activities nearby, yet it is secluded enough to feel as though you are away from any hustle and bustle. My two chidren (ages 4 and 9), were well entertained with the many games stowed away at the home as well. All in all, a nice summer mountain get-away!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Being from Texas, where it rarely snows, it was a treat to rent this house for our family spring break. I'm not sure if we had more fun at Monarch ski mountain, riding snowmobiles, or playing in the snow right outside the house. My 5yr. old granddaughter would have to say playing in the snow. The house was plenty of room for 8 people and really did have all the comforts of home. Thank you for the supply of games and cards you have there. We played cards or dominoes every night. We also went to Mt. Princeton hot springs. The location of your house is fantastic. Everything we wanted to do was only a short distance and the view is beautiful. I would most definitely rent this house again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Mary Ann for taking the time to give us a review! We're so glad you had a good time and were pleased with the house. We look forward to your next stay with us. Robin

WE LIKE TO GET THE THREE BOYS AND FAMILYS AROUND X-MAS AND TAKE THEM SKIING. THIS PLACE WAS THE BEST. IT HOUSED ALL 10 OF US AND EVEN GRANDMA. THREE MILES FROM THE SKI RESORT. HOUSE WAS GREAT. EVERYTHING THAT WE COULD POSSIBLY NEED AND MORE. BUT DO NEED A 4-WHEEL DRIVE PICKUP IN THE WINTER TO GET UP HILL. OTHERWISE YOU MIGHT HAVE TO WALK. (NOT FAR THOUGH) WOULD LOVE TO COME BACK IN THE SPRING OR SUMMER.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Hi Christy, I'm so glad you enjoyed our place, and I really appreciate you taking the time to give us a good review! Thanks again, and come back anytime! Robin
