This was our first time to Dominical, and this Villa has the PERFECT location and amenities! It is within close proximity to both Uvita and Downtown Dominical. Both areas offer plenty of tours, surf, shopping and local dining to satisfy any type of traveler.
The Villa is very well kept and offers all of the comforts of home with better views than many (if not all) of the hotels in the area. Arriving at the Villa and finding our adventure around Dominical was a snap using all of the information that the owners provided when we booked with them (it gave us more precise information than the usual concierge). Getting to Dominical, we opted to use GPS and make the drive from SJO to Dominical (vs flying on the commuter) and found the roads to be well maintained; this made our drive time around 3hrs. Along the way we stopped for a sunset dinner at the Villa Caletas in Jaco where we watched the sun melt into the south Pacific from the comfort of our table. Our initial arrival to the Villa was after dark and we were easily able to check-in and get settled for the evening. Waking in the Villa is a spectacular event, with the vibrance and life of the rainforest leading to a spectacular view of the ocean & beach, our senses immediately brought us outdoors to the Villa patio and palapa to start each day. Our days in Dominicalito were filled with adventure. During our stay at the Villa were able to experience the canopy / zipline tour at Hacienda Baru, Adventure Motorsports ATV tours into the San Luis falls and Barucito Valley (elevation ~3,500 ft), and the Costa Canyoning tour of 6 waterfalls in the Uvita area. During these tours and our stay at the Villa were were able to experience the rainforest, and view the local wildlife (monkeys, sloths, lizards, iguanas, butterflys, birds, fish). As our days were mostly filled with exploring the canyons, trails, streams, waterfalls, and jungle; we would head down to the beach in the afternoons for a late lunch and stroll before returning to the Villa in the evening to watch the sunset (the sunset from the Villa is Amazing!). We Highly recommend this Villa as the perfect Costa Rica rental with friendly and helpful owners, new and clean furnishings, appliances, dishes and utensils, amazing views, and a perfect location that memories of a lifetime for us!Recommended for:

We really enjoyed our stay at Dominicalito. The sunsets were breathtaking every night. The easy access to the beach was also a plus. There was no need to drive to the beach, just walk down the hill and you are there! The guards are friendly and helpful as well. The local waterfall is beautiful and easy to find. There is great eating down the road in Ojochal at Citrus and El Fuego. This was my second time in the area within a year and I absolutely love it.

we had an absolute incredible time in dominical, costa rica. we enjoyed the villa which we found to be affordable but spacious, nicely decorated and fully equipped with what we needed. we loved waking up to the beautiful sunrise from our bedroom window and watching the sun set from the patio. monkeys were even spotted climbing from tree to tree in the early mornings. the beach (only a few beach goers when we were there) was just across the road from the villa entrance and downtown dominical (restaurants, bars, stores, shops) was only a 5 min drive. grocery stores were also easy to get to...about a 10 min drive. this was definitely a private little get-away. we will definitely come back for a visit soon.

We had a fabulous time in Domincal! The property sat up on a hill with magnificent views of the ocean. The interior looked brand new with all the modern conveniences. It was clean, comfortable and was the perfect place for our vacation getaway. The balcony was a great place to watch the sunset or to try to catch a glimpse of the monkeys swinging through the trees. A short trip to the beach and downtown Dominical made the location perfect. We'd highly recommend to other vacationers!

I had the liberty to attend a beautiful intimate wedding late Feb 2010. The Villa we stayed at had fabulous view! Very relaxing, a get away to enjoy nature, and away from the fast life of technology to just spend quality time with family and friends. The Costa Rican adventures should definitely include early morning (before sunrise) where you can get a glimpse of the monkeys jumping through the trees before sun rise off the balcony. My recommendation is to sit and sip quietly on the balcony your morning coffee as you cuddle in a warm blanket watching the monkeys and sun rise. A great way to start the morning! The villa is close to the beach across the main street which you can see off the balcony, super markets for groceries, downtown Dominical, the bank, and the best part, it is 30 minutes away from: horseback riding, trip to the waterfall, zip lining, and rainforest hikes at Hacienda Baru. At the downtown Dominical, about 10 minute car ride away to enjoy another beach (surf), ride ATV, kayaking, and splendid homemade ice cream made by a family owned New Yorker. There are internet cafes, yoga classes, and the flea market as well within the area to check out! Definitely worth the stay and highly recommend this villa! I cannot thank you enough for such great memories and wonderful hospitality making it a home away from home! Thank you AGAIN Gavin & Kay Munroe for the wonderful experience in Costa Rica!

We enjoyed our stay at this gorgeous property in early 2010. The view is fantastic and the property was clean, well stocked and contained all of the modern amenities to make our stay comfortable. We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the balcony overlooking the ocean. The pictures don't do it justice! A great value for the money!! If you're lucky, you can even spot the monkeys swinging through the canopy that makes up the backyard of the condo.

This villa is the best place to stay in Dominical. It's conveniently located near a village where there are shops, restaurants, the beach and agencies where you can plan your adventures, etc. There is an italian restaurant there that's absolutely amazing. I recommend the ravioli in white wine sauce. There is another restaurant about 30 minutes south called Citrus which is exquisite. The villa is very spacious and has a modern clean design. Has plenty of cabinet space for groceries if you decide to stay in and cook. It also has a nice view where you can appreciate the nature around you. You'll be glad you stayed here.

Very nice place, we had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the villa. Its the best location of all the villas as its close to the ocean and not too high up the hill so you dont need a 4X4. You can hear the ocean and sea breese but still have the privacy and security you need. I would go back again at a moments notice

Gavin and Kay’s villa ROCKED! Everything you need is at the villa. There are so much to do, you need to plan your days as entertainment and activities are all close by. Very safe as there are security guards waving and checking you as you come and go. Even the stray dog, Pablo, greeting you as you come up is friendly! The villa has amazing view of sun rise, sun set, the beach cover watching the tides come and go as well. Very spacious, clean, and can’t ask for more for such a great vacation spot.
