I am originally from the Carolina's but hadn't ever been to Kiawah. I loved it. The property was so well equipped and all the necessary amenities were there. Great kitchen, lovely bedroom furnishings and a super view to the ocean. A lot of thought went into the over all furnishings for this 2 BR condo. The owners did a wonderful job of providing little extras like towels for the beach or a cooler, or games for their guests.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I had such a wonderful time during our vacation on Kiawah...we lead very hectic lives...it was so nice to relax and just enjoy all of our 4 kids in such a beautiful environment. There were so many fun things to do there...(beach, biking, fun activities at Night Heron, painting pottery, playing freeze tag on the beach at night)...the condo was gorgeous, and had all necessities (little things like tpaper, trash bags, hand soap and laundry supplies were so helpful), and we couldn't have asked for a better location! we said our only complaint was that we couldn't stay longer...the kids even said when we were driving home yesterday that they wanted to come back for Spring Break! I would highly recommend any property listed with Kiawah Island Getaways to all friends and family:-)Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

This property is absolutely wonderful. It was clean, comfortable, and well maintained and I only wish we could have stayed longer. There were only two downsides and neither of them were the fault of the area or the property owners - these are just observations. Because the area is so unspoiled, families with children may find the young ones bored as the area does not have a large amount of artificial amusements nearby. If your child cannot be contented with fishing, swimming, bike riding, etc. and requires theme parks or video arcades to stay amused, this may not be the vacation for them. The second downside is that this glorious location is approx. 20 miles from Charleston. If most of your planned activities involve Charleston, you may want to stay closer to that charming city. Now onto the good. The property looks directly over the sand dunes of Kiawah Island to the one on the most unspoiled beaches I've ever seen. The beach was (in early June) almost uninhabited so you could read a book in peace or take a long stroll in solitude. When you did see residents, they were among the most charming people I've met in recent times - always stopping to say "Hello" and chat a bit. The property is located just down the road from a small, planned, shopping center/town center (called "Freshfields") which had a number of shops where you could purchase anything you might have forgotten to bring with you. The shopping center also contained a number of fine restaurants. Speaking of restaurants, the Kiawah Island area had a larger number than I expected and they were all high quality. I did not have a bad meal the entire time I was there. Finding a restaurant was easy as the property contained a number of menus from the local restaurants. The service and reservation process were also efficient and easy. Checking out of the property at the end of our stay was also a breeze.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The view, the accomodations, the seclusion, all contributed to a perefectly relaxing get-away. We could not believe this beautiful beach was never, ever crowded. We were practically alone at the beginning of the week. The property recieves an A+ in cleanliness. The furnishings are first rate. The grounds are nicely maintained and manicured. The boardwalk to the beach maintains the natural dune boundry. This is not a place for children or teenagers, but it is an excellent spot for adults to relax and enjoy the serenity.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

It was hard to leave this lovely villa and beautiful island. Our stay at the Vista Villa could not have been more comfortable. Besides being immaculately clean, the villa was beautifully furnished with so much detail given to comfort, aesthetics, and the little things such as a bottle of shout for an unplanned spot. The kitchen and laundry room were furnished with condiments, beautiful dishes, soap, paper towels, etc. Things we would have had to buy after arrival. The villa allows a full view of the beach over the sand dunes. We even ejoyed seeing deer from our porch. The local restaurants were good with resort prices. We especially enjoyed the new El Tela Italian restaurant with authentic Italian dishes at Freshfields Village. Complete with a library, videos, games, and perfect weather, our vacation could not have been better.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sandpiper. The villa was even more beautiful than the pictures! Check in and bike/beach chair rental couldn't have been easier. The owners were extremely accomodating and the place was spotless!. We will definitely stay here again and will recommend it to friends coming to Kiawah. We loved riding our bikes to Freshfield's for dinner and some beach music on the lawn!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

This ocean front villa is exceptional. I have stayed in over a dozen locations on the island, but none this beautiful. I was looking for an ocean view and got a lot more. It is also a great location because you can walk to the cafe for the morning paper or coffee and it is not a long drive to Fresh Fields. I look forward to returning next spring.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We visited Kiawah for the third year in a row, brought our whole extended family this time, and rented three condos for the week. As always, the condos were beautiful, extremely well equipped, and very clean. We will be back. We highly recommend the Lawsons to anyone, and tell anyone in our town that asks about where to stay in Kiawah!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

If you are looking for relaxation and fun this place is for you!! The island was beautiful and the villa is very tastefully decorated...and the view is incredible. We orginally wanted the Penthouse but it was not available; So, we felt as though we were settling. Lest to say we did not the 'Sandpiper' was all that and more. The bed is a vacation in itself. It was hard to leave.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My husband and I live in an historic home in downtown Charleston. We wanted to get away for his 41st birthday and came upon this site. We are extremely picky when it comes to accommodations. We were elated when we walked into the Sandpiper! The cleanliness and decor superseded our expectations. I am an interior designer and love the peaceful ocean colors and cottage furniture in the Sandpiper! The owners took a lot of time in every detail and it shows. The condo is equipped with anything you might need and so clean. The views are amazing! We would recommend the Sandpiper to anyone and hope to return to Kiawah very soon!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Villa is SUPERB! Upon arrival, they had lights on and soft music playing. Decorated extremely well and beds were super comfortable! Great to be able to fall asleep hearing the waves lapping up on the shore! A MUST stay!! I was able to capture professional-like pictures of spectacular sunrises from the balcony! :)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Upon arriving on Kiawah and entering our condo, we were greeted with soft music and chocolates on our pillows. What a warm welcome! The condo was beautiful, spotless, and appeared exactly as depicted in the website photographs; we were thrilled. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the oceanfront and genuinely hated to leave. Two days after returning, I am already nostalgic for this gorgeous setting.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Wonder ful spot with all amenties to cook in.Free accecess to laundry room. Very clean and well maintained. The only draw back I notice because of the way the building is built there is some over head walking noise. Short walk out to the beach or bike ride to a path. Nice walking beach. You do need a car to go out for dinner in the area and to go into charleston. I recommend aways call ahead any day of the week for dinner resverations. The good restaurants book up quick. Rented from Kiawah Island getaway very nice and helpful couple.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
