Upon entering, guests are met with an open expanse of living area furnished in traditional light Florida colors and where entertainment is provided by big screen TV or audio system. The master bedroom King size bed welcomes the weary traveler home from sun filled days on the private beach or hikes on nature trails. The second bedroom boasts a queen size bed. The fully equipped kitchen is styled for entertaining or simple "at home" meals and opens to a large dining area overlooking the heated pool and garden. This fully screened area nestles in a half acre of native Florida trees and ground covering and is totally secluded from neighboring properties. Patio furnishings allow for meals to be cooked and eaten outdoors if guests so choose. At appropriate times in season, breakfast may consist of your own hand picked fruit or fresh-squeezed orange juice from our matured citrus trees.
Magnificent sunsets can be viewed from no less than 5 stunning beaches all within 15 minutes or less from Olivia house. A six minute drive and the use of the pass provided allows our guests unlimited access to the ferry service which will carry them the short distance over inland waters to our own stunning private beach.
Just a few miles north, Myaka State Park offers nature, trail hiking,and bird watching. The more adventuresome may prefer gliding in an air boat up the Myaka River which provides a thrilling view of alligators abundant in their own habitat.
Golfing is a major interest and our guests will have difficulty in choosing from the numerous top rated courses available within easy reach of Olivia House.
Our local bird sanctuary, Shamrock Park,offers four well maintained tennis courts, available seven days a week from early morning to sunset. Our guests are provided with two bicycles with which to enjoy the parks' paved bicycle paths, stretching for miles alongside the inland waterway. Walking routes are scatterd through the natural vegetation and a visitors centre provides information on the local birds, annimals and plant life.
Live theatre, waterfront restaurants such as Sharkey's on the beach or laid back local haunts featuring live music, all contribute to Venice being in the top ten list of best places to be in the United States of America. From antiquing to outlet malls, department stores to world class boutiques, shopping your style is all within easy reach.
