PROPERTY: Amidst the picturesque Sierra Mountain Range, this south facing home is perched on the shore of fabled Lake Tahoe. Built among giant granite boulders, this cedar-bark sided home traces its history back to the Gatsby era of the Brockway Springs Hotel, which was located on the western part of Brockway Point. At the end of a silent cul-de-sac, the Rocky Roost compound sits behind large iron gates on one and a half acres. The compound includes: the Main Residence, Cabin, and Game Room. Huge boulders throughout the grounds create exquisite patios and sheltered dining areas. With 120 feet of Lake frontage, the property faces the majestic South and East shorelines, and boulders, aspens, and large pines on both sides frame the home.
The main residence (about 3500 sq. ft.) contains four bedrooms including a spectacular master suite. The entrance area is separated from the lower living room by a antique stone fireplace. The upper living room boasts a hand made copper fireplace built directly into the granite boulder that juts through the floor. The home theater adjoins the two living rooms. The main deck and house surround a massive first growth ponderosa pine.
There is a suite below the main residence with kitchen facilities, living area, bath, and king-sized sleeping loft. This suite is built around a boulder and, the windows have a fabulous view of Lake.
There is also a cabin with double-size bed, kitchen facilities and bath. Known as the Honeymoon Cabin, this little charmer nestled in the boulders with filtered lake views, deck and backyard sunbathing area.
There is also a game room with bathroom and shower. Overflow guests can stay in the game room on folding futons.
The house has an outdoor hot tub and indoor steam shower.
Please note that pathways to the boat house and Lake are steep and are not suitable for or are dangerous to persons with disabilities and to unattended children. You must attend young children at all times on any part of the property indoors or outdoors. RENTERS ASSUME ALL RISKS AND LIABILITY. |
