  This was our second time staying in this unit... It is very comfortable and the views are amazing!!! Ashvin was delightful to work with, and made sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. You can't beat the location at the whaler with the whalers Village right next door for great resturants and shops. Some people might complain about the village noise, but we love it!! You can listen to the hula music and people watch all day long!! You can't go wrong with a stay at this unit!! Everything you need is right at your finger tips!!! Can't wait for our visit next March at this unit at the Whaler!! Mahalo!!

  My husband and I were looking for a place where very little would be asked of us...a place that we didn't feel the need to leave if we didn't want to, a place that we could really, really relax. We definitely found it with this vacation rental! First (and this is important), Ashvin was extremely responsive and easy to work with and always happily answered all of our questions. (Thank you, Ashvin!) Second, The location is ideal. We chose not to rent a car since Ka'anapali area has every kind of water sport available that you could imagine and restaurants galore. We enjoyed walking the boardwalk daily and wandering in and out of all of the resorts. Our first day we took the bus to Safeway in Lahaina (about 5-10 minutes away) and stocked up on food and then got a cab back to the condo. Although we were content to stay put for two weeks, you could easily rent a car through one of the resorts within walking distance of the Whaler if you wanted to explore other parts of the Island. The shuttle from the airport was $55 for two and took about 45 minutes. Third, we found the condo to be exactly as described and the pictures an accurate representation. Although the view from the lanai does include the rooftop of the whaler shopping mall, we didn't find it to be a distraction from the real view, the beach, the islands and the mountainside and thoroughly enjoyed sitting out every morning and evening. The sunsets were spectacular. We did find it a bit too hot to sit out in the afternoon sun, but we were typically out on the beach or the pool at this time most days anyway. Laundry facilities are on the floor just a few steps away, which was a nice convenience. The front desk was always helpful and people very friendly. We highly recommend staying here and can't wait to go back! Bob and Colleen from Seattle Washington

  Our trip to Maui was a great success. It was our kids first trip, so it is very important to pick the right place to stay. This condo overlooking Whaler's Village was great. We were right over the all the action in the village, a stones throw away from many great restaurants as well as from the beach and pool. The condo was very clean and spacious. Just a few minor issues that weren't dealt with, but were tolerable. We made great use of the kitchen for breakfast and lunches, but explored all the great happy hours and dinner restaurants.

  Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.

  Owner response: The minor issue was with one of the toilet continuously running water. Maintenance was informed immediately but seems like somehow they did not attend to my call. It has since been fixed.

  The ocean and mountain views were outrageous from the lanai. We saw three rainbows over the mountains during our stay. The condo was clean, very comfortable and well furnished.The location was excellent!!! Ashvin was very responsive to all phone calls and details. Thank you Ashvin for your immediate responses. Also, thank-you for the beach chairs and snorkel equipment in your hallway closet...both were a really nice surprise:) I would recommend this property to anyone!!!!

  I had an excellent stay at the Whalers and this unit. The unit was very clean, well furnished and came with everything to make for a wonderful stay. The owner was very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. I would recommend this unit to anyone wishing for a great view, comfort and a well equipped condo. The Whalers has an outstanding location with everything within walking distance.

  Before renting this condo, I have considered many many other options and I am so glad that I rented this condo. I wanted a place on Kaanapali beach that is big to accommodate 4 people (Hyatt has like 420sqft per room but it's beach is small and rocky; Sheraton has ~300sqft per room; vs. this condo has ~1000+sqft). I had considered Ka'anapali Alii and Honua Kai condos, which cost $100 more per night. I finally conclude that this Whaler condo can provide me the comfortable price with larger rooms and so I rented it about 2.5 months before my arrival. We had an amazing time here at the condo! We were so impressed the moment we stepped into the condo: it is so huge and the ocean view is so amazing! The place is bigger than it was shown in the listing pictures! I love how it has two full bathrooms so that we don't have to wait forever to get ready each morning. The kitchen is fully equipped that allows us having daily breakfast, preparing sandwiches for lunch during sightseeing, and cooking up great steak dinners on some nights (it is expensive to dine out every night in Maui!). It has two beds: the king bed is very comfortable, the queen sofa bed is kind of too soft so we took its foam mattress to sleep on the floor for better comfort. We packed light so we did laundry every night and we noticed that we were the ones using the machine on the whole floor. One main thing is that the place is very clean, well decorated, well-equipped and well maintained as advertised. Also, Location, location, location! steps away from the famous Kaanapali beach and right next to the Whaler Village for shopping and food, 10 min walk along the beach to Hyatt for amazing spa at Spa Moana, 5 min walk along the beach to Black Rock for great snorkeling to see sea turtles and coral. Parking is underground and plentiful, no wonder costing $12 per night to park. The owner Ashvin is very responsive to all my questions and nice! He sent us a 6-page information Word document about the condo and where to dine! So helpful! I definitely recommend his condo to friends and relative and look forward to future rental from him when I visit Maui again!

  We have been to Maui several times, but this condo is our new favorite place to stay. From the time we arrived, The Whaler staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The condo was everything that was advertised and more! We had an amazing panoramic view of Kaanapali Beach and the ocean. I spent days watching the whales and porpoises play off shore. The proximity of the condo made it a perfect location for our two teenage girls to explore the beach and shops at Whaler's Village. We spent way less time in the car, being so close to Lahaina. The condo was very comfortable for 4 of us, especially with 2 full bathrooms. Everything was well maintained, including the on-site BBQ facilities. We ate "in" a lot, since the condo was fully equipped with necessary kitchen appliances, and saved our $ for fun activities. You definitely need to go to Leilani's for Hula Pie, and the Hula Grill for fish tacos, YUM! Lot's of good family memories were made here, and we look forward to staying here again. The owner was very responsive to my questions and great to work with. I would recommend this condo to my family and friends!

  The view was a fantastic panoramic of the ocean from the lanai, living room, and bedroom. The floor to ceiling glass sliders and lanai run the entire length of the living area and bedroom. RECOMMEND! The condominium was lovely, spacious, well-maintained, clean, and well equipped. The owner was very friendly, accommodating, and provided a detailed list of directions, grocery store locations, and nearby attractions. We (including our teenagers) would definitely stay here again and recommend this condo to family and friends. We were able to eat breakfast on the lanai overlooking the ocean (high enough to see whales in the distance), walk to Black Rock for snorkeling (seeing turtles/fish/coral), sun/swim on the beach a few steps from the building, walk along the boardwalk for lunch and coffee, in the afternoon drive the extraordinary coastline north to see crashing waves against sea cliffs, and in the evening walk old Lahaina (10 minutes from the Whaler) . . . and that was just the first day! We loved our stay and miss it already! We also loved the Old Lahaina Luau (get reservations early) and getting our family portrait taken on the beach. Enjoy!

  My family enjoyed our stay at the condo. We went two years in a row. The Whaler is nice and basic. The condo itself is well furnished and comfortable. I am annoyed at the manager (ashvin) because I tried to reserve the condo again for next year and he strung me along for over three weeks ("Sorry I was sick", "I'll definitely get back to you tonight", etc.) before informing me that someone else had made a reservation for the dates. I'm not sure whether he chose this other renter over me for some reason, or was just stringing me along while this other person was considering their plans, or what, but I definitely did not feel like he treated me well. We won't be going back.

I would like to provide an explanation of the situation and want to assure you that we had no intention to string you along. I would like to apologize in advance for the inconvenience and misunderstanding this may have caused. We value all our guests, especially those that have stayed in our condo before. We always try to give them preference where possible. In this case, another guest had already provided a verbal commitment to book the condo for the dates you had requested. Since I had not yet received the check from them, I was waiting for their confirmation. Because of a technical issue the receipt of the check was delayed but the guest had been in communication with us indicating their desire to reserve the condo. Since they had contacted us before and had indicated that the check is on its way, it would not have been fair to to deny them the condo. Before I could provide you a final response, I needed to verify that I had received the check from the guest. As soon as I received the check with their confirmation, I provided you a response. I was genuinely sick during this time but all the while was trying my best to be fair to everyone involved, but unfortunately one of the parties in this was offended. Again, I apologize for this unfortunate incident and will use this feedback to refine the communication so that such an incident does not happen again. Thanks again for your support. I hope you will consider the circumstances of this situation and reconsider your decision to not rent this condo. We would really appreciate if you would give us another chance.
