The spacious house has three levels, so spread out and relax at your own speed. Fall asleep to the soothing sound of the creek, grill out on the porch, or soak in the hot tub and enjoy the cool mountain air. What to do in Beautiful Maggie Valley: Maggie Valley and the surrounding area truly has something for every member of the family. If hiking & nature are your favorite things, or if you are more interested in golf at one of the area courses, the cool temperatures and friendly natives will make your stay pleasurable. Several riding stables, including Queens Farm and Cataloochee offer trail rides daily. Skiing is minutes away in the early spring and fall at Cataloochee Ski Resort near Ghost Town. Numerous rafting companies operate on the Nantahala River and several levels of excitement await the rafting enthusiasts. A word to the wise--the water here is from the mountains and it is notoriously chilly! The Great Smokey Mountain Railroad has scenic tours through the mountain passes boarding at the station in Dillsboro--check departure times and inquire about the sunset tours as well.
Asheville is a Must See!: A quick 30 minutes east on I-40 lies the town of Asheville, with it's charming old downtown section, dotted with quaint shops and delicious gourmet restaurants. If you are lucky, you'll be in town for the Southern Highland Craft Fair at the Asheville Civic Center and see the finest the area's crafters have to offer. In southern Asheville (Exit 50 on I-40) is Biltmore Village, home of the famous Biltmore Estate and Winery. If you have never been to Biltmore, it is a must see and a delightful way to spend the day on another continent. Like any large city, Asheville has a very nice mall and very nice traditional dining, but also beautiful gardens everywhere, and enchanting southern architecture at every turn. Probably what attracts us to Asheville the most are the great antiquing opportunities. Antique malls, barns and warehouses dot the city and we have great fun both window shopping and collecting. If you can, go see the beautiful old Grove Park Inn on Charlotte Street.
Heading to the West: The Cherokee Indian Reservation and Harrah's Casino are a 30 minute drive to the west on Route 19. On the other side of beautiful Smokey Mountain National Park, about a 1 1/2 hour drive, is Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and of course, Dollywood. Gatlinburg is known for it's unusual assortment of interesting shops, Ripley's Museum, and restaurants. Pigeon Forge has an amazing artisan community with many galleries and working studios. Pigeon Forge is also a haven for outlet shoppers, as well as home to the popular theme park Dollywood.

Jamie and Mike thanks for letting us use your lovely cabin this past fall. I'm sorry I'm late in getting back with you. The timing was great - beautiful color and your cabin made it perfect. We only used the 2nd floor - as it was just the two of us. Loved the nice simi-circle couch, great place to relax and watch TV with beautiful view of the foilage. Great week and hopefully we'll have opprotunity to use in the future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

This was by far the best house we have rented! It was the perfect house for our family. The children had room to play and so did the adults! Everyone loved it! It is close to everything, while there we went skiing, we visited asheville, we visited the Biltmore estate, and a lot more!! If you're thinking about renting dogwood, GO FOR IT!! you will love it!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless, ThamiRecommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

the llocation of the property was excellent. short drives to restaurants , waynesville and golfing just 10 minutes away. the drive to dogwood is mostly paved and easy to navigate being surrounded by trees gives one the feeling of being isolated yet being just minutes from amenities and recreation. dogwood is homey with the personal touches of the owners.it is very confortable and well maintained. we look forward to returning for a longer stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our family really enjoyed our week stay at Dogwood Creek in June. The charming home, located in the trees, is comfortable and perfect for a 3 generation family ranging in age from 6 to 76. We hiked, visited several waterfalls, rafted (all of us), played miniature golf, visited the Biltmore Estate, found a great coffee shop for lunch in Waynesville, and played games at night. The weather was perfect. The area is beautiful and has something for everyone.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
