My husband and I spent 3 weeks at the Treehouse in January of 2012. We both agreed that this was the best tropical vacation we have been on since we starting traveling together over 30 years ago. The accomodations were convenient and comfortable but what made the vacation so special were the people who worked there. Cynthia (the manager), Charmaine (the housekeeper), John (the gardener) and Alvin (the pool guy) were all there for us and checked in with us regularly to see if we needed anything. We were fortunate to meet the owner and his wife as they were staying at the Treehouse II. They provided lots of useful information and tips on how to best take advantage of this great location in Soufriere. It was a short 15 minute walk down to the beautiful Anse Chastenet beach where we enjoyed lots of snorkeling and swimming. We did not rent a car but that did not prevent us from seeing the whole island with Desmond our taxi driver who works for Benton's Taxi Service. We got a real taste of St. Lucian culture through his eyes as we visited the Pitons, the rainforest, the Diamond Botanical Gardens, the Sulphur Springs, the Tet Paul Nature Nature Trail (don't miss it) as well as the towns of Soufriere, Marigot Bay, Rodney Bay, Castries and Vieux Fort. Once again, we loved the accomodations. It really was like you were living in a Treehouse yet you had all the comforts of home. We did lots of cooking in the well-equipped kitchen and really appreciated the WIFI so we could keep in touch with family and friends. We always felt safe and well taken care of. You won't regret a vacation getaway to this beautiful tropical treehouse. We both highly recommend it.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at the treehouse and I have to say it exceeded all of our expectations. Beginning with the taxi ride from the airport, our stay in St Lucia was adventurous and exciting. There were so many things to do that we did not spend alot of time at the treehouse but felt very comfortable while there and the views were incredible. Our first night we were treated to a delicious local meal that really set the tone for our honeymoon. The beach is just down the hill and was a great place to sun and snorkel. We did watch the sunset several afternoons from the beach bar. The small pool was a welcome experience after walking back from the beach. The area around the treehouse is like a botanical garden and attracted alot of hummingbirds. We never really needed anything as the staff (Charmaine and Cynthia) took great care of us. We thought the treehouse and St Lucia was a great experience and the perfect place for our honeymoon. I hope we can someday return for our anniversary. Leslie and Brian Dec 2011

We loved staying at the Treehouse. Beautiful beach with awesome snorkeling just a 12 minute walk down the road. The walk back is all uphill but once we got to the Treehouse we took a dip in the private plunge pool and then we were ready to relax on the deck with a cold Piton. The view is spectacular!

We wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at the Treehouse. The staff was great--without exception. We appreciated the recommendations in the guestbook as it gave us peace of mind. We visited Gee's a couple of times--great food. We rode with Recardo and Moby Dick--both colorful characters and very pleasant. We hope to return to St Lucia someday and will keep the Treehouse in mind.

We are now sure the Tree House is absolutely the best way to see the real St. Lucia. If you’re looking for a chaise lounge on a beach with other tourists, drinks with umbrellas and a mint on your pillow, you should look elsewhere. To really get to know the island and the people who live there, check this place out. The southern part of the island has the drop-dead landscapes — and seascapes — and the view of the Pitons from the Tree House deck is spectacular. We really loved Soufriere. Be sure to have breakfast or lunch at Archie’s. It’s a locals place, the food is good and a fraction of the cost of upscale restaurants — that’s not to say you should try them, too. The Hummingbird Resort has good food and great view. Our favorite was Martha’s Tables, partway up the Petit Piton. The creole dishes are very good, but first try entrees with Martha’s own special sauce. There is much to see and do — the volcano, waterfalls, botanical garden and rain forest — but we were worn out playing tourist after about four days and just chilled out the rest of the week. Cynthia, the house manager, is terrific. She has encyclopedic knowledge of the island, and can steer you to whatever you’re looking for. Benton and his fearless band of taxi drivers (Eli and Lambert) are great guides, advisors and even provide an introductory lesson in the local patois. Capt. Daisey, aka Moby Dick, is an entertaining and accomplished water taxi guide. We took a day-long tour up the west coast of the island, which was pretty spectacular. The boat ride was great, but we’d recommend skipping Castries, the capital city. There were too many hustlers and hawkers preying on the cruise ship passengers. Lunch at the Dolittle Resort in Marigot Bay was great, though, as was Daisey’s banter. The pros: Wonderful people, great food, incredible scenery; the most romantic place we’ve ever been. The cons: Like most everywhere, there are some street hustlers. (Be firm: “No, mon. We’re good.”) Advice: Resist the temptation to take 200 photos of the Pitons. It’s harder than you think; they’re just so cool. If you are hikers, get those legs in shape before you come. The roads seem to average a 45-degree incline — great for going down, crazy cardio workout going up. Bottom line: The Tree House is mind-blowing if you love nature and want to experience the island culture.

My husband and I stayed at the Tree House for two weeks for our honeymoon. We had a wonderful time and were so happy we found this place! We both love animals and nature, so it was a great place to see native birds and little critters. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware so we were able to cook for ourselves most days if we wanted to. Fortunately, we are both in fairly good physical shape, so we really got to see a great deal of Soufriere and the surrounding areas. I would not recommend the Tree House for people who do not like walking/hiking (or adventurous driving) or people with disabilities or people with small children. But if you like to hike/meander - the Tree House is a fantastic find. It is perfect for two people looking to escape the tourist traps that most Caribbean islands bring. If you are willing to sweat a little and walk a while, you can see Jalousie beach, Diamond Botanical Gardens, Fond Doux Estate and all of the village (we walked to all of these places during our stay.) Of these activities, we would recommend the botanical gardens and Jalousie beach - but the Fond Doux Estate was a little bit of a bust. The area of Soufriere is quite authentic and gave us a good feel for island life. There are plenty of restaurants in the town and surrounding areas (our favorites were Archie's in Soufriere and Martha's Tables on the way to Jalousie) if you don't want to cook for yourself - but between the little supermarket and the fresh fruit and fish markets, we were able to supplement our dining experiences. The Tree House itself was quaint, but plenty of room for two people (preferably a couple). It was clean and well-maintained, with all necessary amenities (like a coffee maker!). The owner was awesome and helped us out with scheduling changes and we were even fortunate enough to meet him for dinner! He's a fantastic (and very entertaining) guy! The only downside is that we visited during the rainy season and did not bring enough mosquito spray (some was provided by the Tree House though!). So if you are going during the summer months, bring bug spray. However, for how much money you save at the Tree House compared to any hotel on the island, you can buy gallons of bug spray and still make out on the deal. I would definitely recommend the Tree House to anyone who likes a more private, self-catering and adventurous vacation. We look forward to going back in the future

This truly was an amazing experience! From waking up to the gorgeous views in the morning to falling asleep with the sounds of nature at night. The treehouse is also equipped with everything you would need. The owner arranged our pickup from the airport and a driver for the week. Being within walking distance to beautiful Anse Chastenet beach was a treat. Great snorkeling and a nice beachfront bar/restaurant. The food in area restaurants is excellent - the people warm and friendly. We would highly recommend the Treehouse and are looking forward to our return.

We stayed at the treehouse for two weeks in February 2010. The homes' unique design nestled in trees and flowers made us feel as if we were living outdoors. Cynthia and Alvin kept the house and pool spotless. It's an easy ten minute walk to the beach. The privacy, beauty, and comfort make the Treehouse a perfect choice for a couple getaway

We absolutely loved our experience staying at the Treehouse in St. Lucia. The locations is superb for walking to the most spectacular snorkeling beaches. Having your own kitchen is so convenient and the view from the dining table is perfect. One of our favorite features was the cool plunge pool. We would take a dip before a walk, after a walk, and before bedtime. This is truly a unique experience and we look forward to returning.

We really enjoyed our Honeymoon week at the Treehouse in St. Lucia. The Treehouse is perfect for a couple looking for a little more adventure than what you would find at an all-inclusive-resort where you might never leave your room. However, we would have enjoyed our stay even if we hadn't left the treehouse. The treehouse is very well made and has beautiful wood flooring. The kitchen, bath, bedroom, and living areas are all beautiful, accommodating and very private. Since it is on the road to a resort, there is some traffic in the morning and night with workers going to and from work which translates to a little bit of noise now and then. I would recommend using a taxi instead of renting a car for a more relaxing trip. Driving seemed a little crazy: narrow roads, lots of turns.. It is within walking distance of several great restaurants, great beach spots where you can snorkel, swim, mtn bike(VERY FUN) awesome overlooks and views, the town of soufriere (bank, bakery, groceries, locals selling fresh fruit). The walking is a bit strenuous and not recommended for those who have a difficult time getting around. However, getting around by taxi is easy an inexpensive. We had a water taxi(inexpensive) one day for snorkeling and lunch in Marigot Bay. AWESOME. Highlight of our trip The drive-in volcano, mineral baths, and botanical gardens are all close-by and worth the trip, but you will need a taxi ride there (inexpensive). I would HIGHLY recommend this spot for lodging and vacation.

We had a great vacation and really enjoyed the treehouse. We lived abroad so we apreciated how well laid out it is. We especially liked the landscaping and the views. It felt alittle like Swiss Family Robinson. Cynthia was a great help. The driving was lots of fun and the directions you gave were helpful.
Owner response:The Flemings lived on a boat not abroad.

The treehouse was everything we imagined and more. It was surrounded by tropical plants and the pool was just right for a daily dip. The balcony gave us a great view of the Pitons and Caribbean. We kept the tree in front of the balcony full of birds with bananas and bread. St. Lucia is a beautiful island with lots of natural attractions and most of those were near the villa. We rented a car for a few days to explore the north part of the island. It was much more developed and crowded. We walked a short distance to the beach at Anse Chastanet several times and enjoyed the beach bar and snorkeling. We are already planning a return trip next year!

We fell in love with the treehouse but the vacation was too short. We hiked the Piton, swam, visited Anse Chastanet, relaxed in the pluge pool, skinnydipped, went to the market, cooked dinner, and fed the birds. It is a gift of happiness to those of us who get to visit. The treehouse rocks and the garden is truly amazing! St Lucia is so stunning and we will definitely come back for another visit.

Everything about this place is amazing--the perfect romantic getaway. A quaint, open-air cabin tucked into the mountainside and overlooking the pitons, you could sit for hours just looking at the pitons and the ocean or relaxing in the plunge pool in the tropical garden. Very private and secluded, I recommend getting food for the pantry and venturing out only for special occasions, as the road is somewhat rough (which is what makes it so private) and while Recardo is the best and very fair, taxis in St. Lucia are not cheap in general (when you see the roads you'll see why). The tree house itself is clean and beautifully maintained, lots of small amenities for guests to use, even some board games, books and movies. Make sure you bring plenty of Off, though--the mosquitoes like fresh blood! Anse Chastanet is just down the road with a beautiful postcard-perfect beach--tiki huts and a calm, bathwater-clear ocean surrounded by cliffs. Lot of honeymooners and couples, no children around to speak of. If you don't feel like shelling out for an expensive, arranged tour by boat, you can easily set something up with the water-taxi drivers and get a private snorkeling tour for a decent price. The owner was really great and gave us lots of great trips, checked in on us a lot, and the staff will come by as often or as infrequently as you want. Recardo really is a great driver, too--very accommodating and had some great info about the area. This is definitely the spot to go if you are looking for a very chill, very romantic getaway--and very reasonably priced. We'll definitely be back. :)

I have just return from a fantastic vacation in St. Lucia. We stayed at The Tree House which was everything we expected. The house and grounds were extremely well taken care of and the staff was very helpful. The villa had everything we needed and the owner even called to check and make sure everything was going well. We decided not to rent a car because the beach and town were within walking distance. We did many of the sightseeing trips and several hikes but mostly enjoyed just hanging out the the villa poolside. Several afternoons it seemed we had the whole mountainside to ourselves. Plenty to do both around the island and at the villa. I would definetly consider a return trip to The Tree House.

I just returned from my fourth trip to St. Lucia and the treehouse cottage has been the best. I love to dive and Anse Chastanet dive shop was only a ten minute walk. I was able to dive every day including a night dive at the base of the Piton. It was awesome! The treehouse provided everything I needed and Cynthia was great. I got just enough rest and relaxation between dives. I will definitely visit the treehouse again.

I have been to the treehouse five times now and each time it gets harder to leave. I look forward to my week of relaxation in October every year. St. Lucia is an amazingly tropical island with some of the nicest people on earth. The treehouse is in an area near the Anse Chastanet Hotel just outside of the quaint town of Soufriere. Although I have spent the last few visits just relaxing, there are alot of natural sites to see that are close by such as the botanical gardens, drive in volcano and Touralle waterfall. I only have to walk a short distance to the beach to cool off and snorkel. Overall, the treehouse has given me lots of fond memories.

We stayed at the Tree House for our honeymoon and it was perfect. The house is in a private area which overlooks the Caribbean ocean and we felt like we were the only ones around. We had great views of the Pitons and the ocean from our balcony. The house was very well equipped with everything we needed and the housekeeper and gardener checked in on us daily. There is a beautiful tropical garden to enjoy while relaxing by the pool. Anse Chastanet resort is walking distance from the house which has some restaurants, snorkeling and a beautiful black sand beach. The owner’s arranged for our transportation from the airport upon arrival and our taxi driver was very dependable, friendly and knowledgeable about everything. We enjoyed the volcano, the botanical gardens the beaches and most of all the food. There is as much to do as you want or as little to do, it’s all up to you. All of the locals were very nice and welcoming and we cannot wait to go back!

This was an amazing place to vacation from the view on the treehouse balcony looking at the twin Pitons to the valley just below it. There are hiking trails behind the treehouse as well as a great short hike to the Anse Chastanet Hotel and the beautiful blue water and sandy beach for some sun or just relax and listen to the waves of the ocean right beside the hotel. The water was so amazingly blue and calming. The food at the Anse Chastanet Hotel was wonderful and the service was great. The locals were all very kind and helpful everywere we went. The sightseeing trips were wonderful and informative from the Forest Tours to the trip to the Volcano. The mineral bath will make you feel ten years younger and make you not want to leave. Everywere you go you can stop and pick fresh fruits as well as a grocery store at the heart of the nearby town. The treehouse is just like a home away from home with all the necessary anamities right at your finger tips. The owner checked on us daily to make sure we were comforable and that we were enjoying our stay. You go to sleep with the sound of the crickets and wake up listening to the birds singing. I highly recommend this place for a first time vacation and for sure repeat visits.

What an awesome place!! We stayed at the Tree House for our honeymoon and we couldn't have had a better time. The owners arranged for our pickup at the airport and recommended stopping by the grocery store on our way (we agree). Once we got to the Tree House, we were blown away by the views we had. The Pitons were amazing and we were able to see St. Vincent on the horizon. During the days, we hung out by the pool and had total privacy, hiked on several of the nearby trails and took a trip to Castries for the zipline and tram tour. Highly recommend. Can't wait for our return visit.

We needed some down time and this place was perfect. Though compact, the house was very well-equipped with full kitchen, grills, internet, linens. Walking distance to Anse Chastenet beach, big plus for my restless husband so I could read on the balcony. Very private location with spectacular views of the water and both Pitons. Nice hiking/walking trail behind house. Hiking into town possible for the very adventurous; we were lazy and took cabs or drove. The owners arranged airport pick-up for us and then had our rental jeep delivered to the house. They checked on us several times throughout the week. Very cool locals making everything from pottery to coffee beans. Make sure you buy one of the local "Face Pots." John the gardener came every day to water the fantastic tropical garden and to check on us. Soufriere is the closest town/village and has ATMs, restaurants and a tiny grocery, and Anse Chastenet resort's a half-mile down the road if you can't stand the quiet. Plenty to do if you're a foodie or a cook (we made goat stew!). Great place for those who want a simple, low-maintenance place to relax. We'll be back.

I really didn't know what to expect as I have never been to the caribbean but I could not have been more pleased. Myself and two friends stayed one week at the treehouse. It was comfy and very tropical. We spent a day up north, hiked in the rainforest, took a water taxi all along the coast, snorkled, visited the market, and took a trip around the island. We wanted to see as much as possible so we stayed very busy. The natives were very nice and the food was delicious. We liked feeding all the birds at the treehouse. I hope the rest of the caribbean is this exciting.

My wife and come every year to our favorite vacation destination. Whether it's listening to the soothing sound of rain hitting the tin roof as you drift off to sleep, or if it's watching the beautiful sunset from the porch, or watching the famous black and gold St Lucian oriole perch in the birdfeeder in the tree right in front of you, the "Treehouse" offers many geat experiences. There's also plenty to do close by the Treehouse. Hike down the road one way, and you can check out the local culture in the friendly fishing village of Soufriere. (The Hummingbird is a great place for evening dining). Hike down the road the the other way, and you end up at the beautiful secluded beach of Anse Chastenet. You can go scuba diving or snorkeling in the reef of the famous marine reserve there, then go grab a light lunch and a cold Piton beer at the outdoor patio/bar area. Next to the Anse Chastenet beach you can use the resort's mountain bikes to take on some exotic trails, then hike up "Tinker's Trail" and enjoy the view from the top of the mountain. There's several other thing's to do that are a taxi or water taxi ride away, such as: hiking down and back up the Rain Forest Park trail; taking a water taxi ride up north along the coast to the market in city of Castries, then stopping in Margot Bay on the way back (Dr Doolittle was filmed here); hiking up up one of the Piton mountains for a breathtaking view (it's a physical challenge); and having lunch at the Ladera resort that sits up between the Piton Mountains and provides a stunning view (then go down to the Joulousie resort and spend the afternoon on that gorgeous beach and some more terrific snorkeling). There's so much to do you won't get an opportunity to do all there is to do in a one-week trip, which is one reason why we keep coming back, and will continue to do so
