The suite is best enjoyed as a romantic getaway for 2, but can accommodate 2 adults with a child. Why the Owner Chose Savannah

Savannah is one of the most beautiful cities in the United States. The combination of arts, history, and natural beauty make this small city a truly unique find. Even though it's small, Savannah is home to one of the largest historic designated districts, and was a great place to find historic properties in need of thoughtful and responsible renovations.

Owner's Map of Savannah

Design, Art, Architecture, Animals, and the Environment are our fundamental interests. Combining these interests to offer historic, sustainable and stylish vacation rentals was a perfect fit, and we hope you will agree.

We have 4 cats, and love traveling with Guiness and Bodhi our 2 pups, so offering a pet-friendly place for other travelers was very important to us.

Honeymoon with our Doggies

Guest: hoops (Greensboro, NC)
Date of Stay: 11/13/11 Review Submitted: 01/14/12

We spent our honeymoon here in November 2011. The property is very well kept and up to date. When we arrived, we found the owners had left a plate of doggie biscuits for our furry family members which was a nice extra touch. The neighborhood is in a transition stage. There are a mixture of properties that still need resurrection and some that are finished. We enjoyed the proximity to Forsyth Park and the historic district. We recommend a car so you can drive to your destinations. Loved the fenced yard. Our door stayed open most of the time so our dogs could have free reign of the yard. Overall this was a great property where we felt safe. The only thing we missed was a stove and oven because we like to cook even when on vacation. There are lots of fun off the beaten path places to hang out, get a beer and great food. Venture out into the fringe neighborhoods to find those places since the riverfront tends to be touristy. Green Truck was one of our favorite places!

Great week in Savannah

Guest: Melissa (Knoxville, Tennessee)
Date of Stay: 05/28/11 Review Submitted: 06/06/11

We stayed in the Barnard Suite from May 28-June 3, 2011. Below are a few of my comments from our visit: PROS: -Very close to downtown (bring your bikes - a little too far to walk) -Great renovation, good design -Private courtyard -Convienent to Tybee Island beaches (about 20-30 mins away) -Owners are right next door so they are close if you need them; they even had a bottle of wine & cheese/crackers waiting for us when we got there -Clean suite, Easy check-in/check-out CONS: -We were weary of some streets in the downtown area that haven't been renovated yet, but never felt unsafe -Bugs, bring your bug spray and flea medication for your pets -No washer or dryer in the suite

A Great Deal for the Price, Accurate Pictures, but Somewhat Iffy Location

Guest: Ania (Chicago, IL)
Date of Stay: 10/22/10 Review Submitted: 05/13/11

My husband and I stayed at the Barnard Suite for four days back in October. We chose the suite because the price was right, it was not in the noisy center of everything, and it was beautifully decorated. For the most part, we were 100% satisfied with our stay. The owners were very responsive to our questions, the suite was as depicted on the website, and it was in an ideal location for us. The neighborhood did seem somewhat iffy at first glance, but the again we can probably be described as typical suburbanites. However, when I think back to my college days it is somewhat reminiscent of a college town in that a number of the neighborhood houses seem to be occupied by busy SCAD professors, rambunctious students, and the like who may not have the time or inclination for upkeep and may not keep regular hours. On the other hand though, there were also some lovely houses in the area. Overall, it seems a bit like an area that's undergoing some growing pains, where people are trying to restore and preserve historic homes that might have been left to termites instead. Despite our first impression though, we did feel reasonably safe in the area and enjoyed our stay immensely.

Felt like home

Guest: gainsey's (Murfreesboro, TN)
Date of Stay: 03/16/11 Review Submitted: 03/22/11

My husband and I stayed in the Waldburg suit and were 100% satisfied. The location (so close to the park) and the courtyard were, perfect for our pups. Close enough to walk to riverfront (a little under a mile) and far enough away from the hustle and bustle to feel like a neighborhood. It felt so much like home we found ourselves saying "we live close to the park." Thank you to the owners for make our stay in Savannah everything we wanted!

Check out the area of town before you book

Guest: Todd & Kim (Thomaston)
Date of Stay: 03/03/11 Review Submitted: 03/08/11

The suite was very nice with lots of information on restraunts and things to do provided by renters. The renters (Christopher) were very accommadating. The location on the other hand was very bad area of the city. We were very uncormfortable staying there. I would check out the owners other house (The Waldorf) to see if it is closer to the parks and River St.

Owner response:To start with, thanks for the compliments. We do strive to offer an amazing space for a great deal. As for any issues with the neighborhood, we are a short 10 minute walk from Forsyth Park and these unfounded fears are frankly insulting to our neighbors which include professors, attorneys, retired military and students. After living here for over 5 years, we have never had any issues and have come to respect and appreciate the diversity of our community. Anyone looking to stay near River St should do just that (and pay the appropriate price). Judging a 115 year old neighborhood based on a 2-day stay is over simplifying to say the least. To close, we do offer maps on our website in hopes of avoiding any issues of this nature.

"Historic home and price" My wife and I were blown away by how good looking this place was. It's small, but perfect for two people and a dog. The yard was great for the pup and it was perfect for us. The only way we could have saved any money was to stay at a shitty motel6. The owner was amazingly friendly and always quick to respond to phone and email. It was very private and quiet. It's in the historic area of Savannah away from all the SCAD kids, but a quick drive from downtown/River St. I recommend staying if you don't need a lot of space.

"A Charming Place to Stay!" Service: Excellent! The owners had to travel unexpectedly but they were more than accomodating to our phone calls asking for recommendations of local amenities. The Home: Lovely! The bed was comfortable, a great selection of movies and reading material, very clean, huge bathroom, loved the organic products throughout! It was nice to have two bicycles available to ride to Forsythe Park. Location: Outside the historic district, but for the price offered it was a great place to stay! We prefer to stay away from the tourist heavy areas and this was just the right spot. The wait for a cab is a bit long, but we were able to drive to the historic district and park with no problems. We did not experience any concerns for safety or security in this neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends!

"A great little place!" This apartment was great! Very clean, open-feeling, LOVE the clawfoot tub, free wireless internet, spices and what not to use in the kitchen, LOTS of DVDs there for you to watch if you want. Not as close to downtown as I would have liked but it's affordability makes up for it, as do the bikes they provide for guests. There is a little pizza joint with outdoor seating a couple of blocks away, too.

"Just Perfect!" The Organic Vacation Suite is just perfect for a short or long-term stay in Savannah. It's a beautiful space that's tastefully decorated, and it's outfitted with everything you need. The location is ideal -- just a short drive from downtown and minutes from the freeway. An unassuming but pretty neighborhood. And the proprietors are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying here!
