Charming and and very nice close to everything

Date of Stay: 05/10/12 Review Submitted: 05/15/12

Had a wonderful four days in the lovely home. Walked in the beautiful pine forest arcross the st. from the home. Would stay there again in the future. Very quite slept like a baby in very nice bed..Only one problem. Could not raise the blinds once we put it down for the evening, So we spent most of our home time in the family room, but the family was nice size and cozy, with double glass doors which looked out on to a ery large patio, yard.

Owner response:Anytime a guest has a question, please call us! We're easily accessible by phone. Those particular blinds are an unusual "bottom up, top down" type to preserve the view through the front window. We're glad to help if they seem tricky!

Great house!

Date of Stay: 04/06/12 Review Submitted: 04/16/12

I would highly recommend this house. It was large, spacious, comfortable and in a very convenient location. The owners were also wonderful to deal with and went out of their way to give helpful information. There were also extra perks such as laundry detergent and body wash, shampoo and conditioner, just to name a few. We were so comfortable that our kids complained of missing the "Arizona house" when we returned home!

Very comfortable home on quiet street..NICE!!

Date of Stay: 04/03/12 Review Submitted: 05/07/12

This home is located in great location and on quiet street. It is close to everything and the park across street has nice walking trails. If you plan to relax at the house it is comfortable and spacious so that you can have your own space if needed or you can gather with everyone if you choose. Beds are comfortable, and it's nice that there is a TV in all main rooms, I personally prefer darker window covering in bedroom, but the morning light wasn't too bad for me. The house is decorated lovely and very cozy,I love the calm earth tones, its a very comfortable place. We all felt save at the house and enjoyed having option to use BBQ. I highly recommend this home for families or even group of friends traveling together, the kitchen is large and has a big dinning table for everyone to gather for a meal, or game cards. Just a wonderful home! Kevin is easily available, if you need him for anything he responds quikly. We had no problems at all, very smooth transaction from start to finish and we enjoyed our stay very much! Thank You!

Great for Families

Guest: Traveller (Charlotte, NC)
Date of Stay: 03/30/12 Review Submitted: 04/12/12

This home was perfect for our family - 2 adults and 3 young children - it's very clean and well-stocked with plenty of space. Neighborhood was quiet and it's centrally located to visit all the major sites of northern Arizona. (Although most destinations are 30-90 minutes away.) We really appreciated the extra touches like nightlights in all the bed/bathrooms and coffee and tea being provided. Definitely enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others!

Nicely furnished house in a quiet neighborhood, close to the downtown area and NAU. We enjoyed the fireplace during a 24" snowstorm. The house had everything we needed. Owners were very accommodating on short notice. We would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay!

Guest: Eun-Sun R. (Tempe, Arizona)
Date of Stay: 01/02/12 Review Submitted: 01/07/12

We rented this place for a week during our Mini-moon. The house was absolutely comfortable. Maybe it was decorated more in our style but this place felt like home when we got there. The house is very close to the Historic Downtown Flagstaff area (about 2 minute drive) and that was great for us because we wanted to get the "small town feel" and walk around looking through shops, grabbing lunch, etc. When we got there, first thing I noticed was the folder they had put on the kitchen counter. It had step-by-step directions to the nearest grocery store, list of restaurants separated by type, and a basket full of brochures from different places to visit. Even though we came pretty much armored with our schedule and places we want to go, if you came here for a chill weekend and wanted to "wing it", this folder and basket would have helped a lot. Even though the house is older, it has been remodeled to a more modern standard. It was spacious. However, we felt that the master bathroom was too small (except for the amazingly massive shower). I did my hair in the guest bathroom because that was much bigger. For those who are super light sleepers that get extremely paranoid once the lights turn off (like me), the heater made a rather loud and frightening (the first couple of times you hear it) sound when it would start up. So perhaps ear plugs would have helped with that. This house has the coolest window treatments. It's hard to explain but you will definitely leave with some ideas of how you want to decorate your place too. Speaking of window treatments, I wish the kitchen windows had a curtain or shutters on them. They are bare and I did not like being that exposed, especially at night. But it seemed like the neighborhood was a safe place to be, so, that probably isn't a huge concern. We were too busy, but, if you are into bike rides in the morning or evening with your significant other, they have two bikes in the garage. The garage is 2 car but each car side has its own door. We have a tiny Honda accord and it was hard for us to get in and out. We have no idea how other cars would be in there. I would suggest that if they can afford it, upgrade to just 1 garage door so people don't have to worry about damaging the car and the house. There is a very big tennis court across the pavement from the house. This house was very well equipped. We would definitely look into visiting this place again for our next visit to Flagstaff.

Owner response:A very detailed review! We're very glad these guests enjoyed the house on their "mini-moon"! This is a beautifully remodeled older home. The kitchen windows look out on the side yard which is well protected by an iron fence and gate. It's true, though: We hated to cover up the beautiful Flagstaff skies, so that's why those two windows, over the sink and counter, are the only ones with no modern window treatments. They have new, dual-paned clear glass windows above the diamond tile splashguard and granite counters.

Everything and more!

Guest: Ipolani (Hilo,Hawaii)
Date of Stay: 12/15/11 Review Submitted: 12/23/11

From the moment we entered the house we felt warm and cozy. Spacious, yet intimate it allowed for all of us - 6 - to enjoy group time as well as individual quiet moments. The home is terrifically equipped with all the amenities one could hope for. The kitchen and den were our favorite gathering place for games, good food and laughter. The yard space allowed for our daughters and grand-daughter to throw snow balls and create a snowlady complete with leis from our Hawaii! The fireplace warmed our toes and nose! The park across the street and the friendly neighbors gave it a true home away from home feeling. We thank you!

This house is beautiful! My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and were so impressed with the house. The owners were so helpful, Kevin even gave us the inside scoop on places to go hiking and good area restaurants. Kevin and Kellie thought of everything in this house...plenty of towels, extra blankets, fully equipped kitchen and more! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the Flagstaff area. Thank you Kevin & Kellie!

Owner response:Thank you! As far as we know, this couple is the first honeymooners who have ever stayed at our house, and we're glad to know they enjoyed their time in Arizona. We had a special gift just for them to celebrate!

My husband surprised me with a little Birthday getaway to this lovely home in Flagstaff. We were so happy to see the house just as it was pictured above, neat and beautiful and incredibly clean! I loved that it is located right across from a beautiful wildlife park/hike. We really enjoyed being able to go for a beautiful walk right outside the front door. The home was very well stocked with all we needed to enjoy ourselves like we were at our very own home :) Thankfully the owner also includes lists of restaurant recommendations which proved so helpful in choosing where to go for dinner. We eagerly look forward to making plans to come back and enjoy this wonderful rental and have already recommended it to many of our friends.

Roomy, comfortable property that worked well for a wheelchair user that had some help and a little mobility. We would have happily stayed for longer. BBQ was great - never seen a main line gas one before.

Owner response:We're relieved the house worked well for you. In all of our correspondence, you never mentioned that one of you would be using a wheelchair! It is a comfortable house, but unfortunately not wheelchair accessible in every aspect. Thank you for so much for staying at V&R. In a handwritten note, this guest suggested we get a tea kettle for the kitchen. An excellent idea. We have done that now, and also provided a selection of tea!

Wonderful Vacation Home

Guest: Ian B.
Date of Stay: 08/02/11 Review Submitted: 09/10/11

A beautiful house ideally situated in Flagstaff. The owners have thought about how to provide the perfect vacation house which they have. The little extras, tennis racquets, cooler boxes, information packs and night lights make your vacation easier and create a home from home. The park opposite is beautiful and ideal for the kids to chill, run around and play Basketball/Tennis. The owners were extremely helpful during the booking process as correspondence was from the UK to the US and transactions were from Pounds to Dollars. The house was cleaned to a very high standard with good quality linen and towels. Shops, Restaurants and Amenities were all close and anything needed and where to get it was supplied in the information pack. I would definitely return, we had a fantastic time but due to time restraints were not able stay longer, we would have loved to. I would highly recommend this house to anyone exploring northern Arizona.

Great vacation!

Guest: Kevin (KS)
Date of Stay: 07/29/11 Review Submitted: 08/08/11

My family and I jsut finished up a great vacation, and one of the main reasons was being able to stay in this house. The home has a great location, with some very good amenities that made it a home away from home. The property was clean and ready for us when we walked in the door and allowed us to relax right away. Even though it is so close to downtown, which is wonderful, it is also on a quiet street directly across the street from a major park in the area. I think anyone would enjoy staying in this home and I recommend it for others to consider. The icing on the cake was the personal touch by the owners. They called and made sure everything was good, and have been great to work with all along the way. Our friends ask us if we have had good luck renting through VRBO, and this home is one reason we readily say yes!

Touring the SW of the US we decided to stay in Flagstaff for a number of days to explore northern Arizona. Checking on several houses on the web we decided to rent this one. Did we make a good choice! The house and area was everything and above to our expectations. Perfect hub to stay for exploring the northern part of the state, excellent warm and cosy house for leisure evenings, breakfasts in the backyard, sizzling burgers from the grill and simply enjoying the quiet and extensive nature of the area. Don't be surprised to see animal wldlife walking and/or flying right into the garden. If/when we ever return to this area then we will most surely would like to rent this house again.

We just got back from Flagstaff and had a wonderful stay. There is a park across the street which runs right into the woods so you really feel you are out of town. The best part is that you can walk out the front door and be seating at a table in any restaurant/bar downtown. The location was absolutely perfect and the inside of the house is extremely well done. We will definately stay here on future visits. Also, the owners were very nice and helpful with any questions and booking concerns.

Date of Stay: 06/05/11 Review Submitted: 06/25/11

We had a wonderful time in Flagstaff!!! This vacation home is extremely inviting and comfortable. The decor is beautiful. It was a wonderful home for our family of four to be able to stretch out after a fun day of exploring the Flagstaff area. Flagstaff was our final destination after 2 weeks of exploring the National Parks of Utah and Arizona. I am sure that we will be back in the near future :-) One of my sisters has a vacation home only a couple of miles away. It was great to be able to be so close to her, yet have our own space at the end of the day. I especially enjoyed sorting through all of the visitors brochures and menus that have been collected over time. The owners have truly made their home a great place for tourists to feel comfortable.

My three sister's and I had a wonderful reunion in this beautiful home. The interior was both comfortable and beautiful. Since the weather was unusually cool for this time of year (we even had a little snow) we enjoyed the beautiful stone fireplace. Flagstaff is a wonderful place to visit and I found myself feeling a little envy for those who were lucky enough to call it home. I hope to return next year for a couple of days on my way from Florida to Pheonix.

Best Vacation of Our Lives!

Guest: Lori (Downingtown, PA)
Date of Stay: 04/15/11 Review Submitted: 05/17/11

Our vacation in Arizona couldn't have been any better. Everything was perfect...the weather, our rental car, and especially this rental house! It was the ideal place for my mother, my two children, my husband, and myself to stay while we visited many of the national parks, like The Grand Canyon, Walnut Canyon, Meteor Crater, Sunset Crater, Sedona(AWESOME!), and The Hoover Dam. The house is nicely decorated and very clean. The beds were very comfortable. My mother loved it that there were tissue boxes in every room. I always wanted to see a snow capped mountain in person, and right outside the front door is the highest mountain in Arizona, Humphries Mountain. We saw this mountain from many of the parks we visited, so after a while we started calling it 'our mountain.' The kitchen is beautiful and very well stocked. All we needed to purchase was food. In the evenings, we really enjoyed having a fire in the fireplace. I can't say enough nice things about Kevin and Kellie - they were a real delight to work with. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone visiting Arizona! This vacation was the best we've ever had!

SUPER CLEAN AND COMFY BASE CAMP

Guest: Todd (San Diego)
Date of Stay: 03/28/11 Review Submitted: 04/14/11

Our family stayed at this house and we were extremely happy we did. It was very close to town and very convent to get in and out of for our daily trips out exploring. Sedona was just a 45 minute beatiful drive away and the Grand Canyon was a pleasant 1.5 hour drive through rolling hills and great scenery. Our kids loved the selection of games available (and huge TVs) and the wife loved the brand new kitchen. My favorite part was sitting by the fire drinking a local brewery's (Beaver Street Brewery) beer. Life was good. We had only one issue which was with the wireless modem. They had just replaced it and the password wouldn't work. However, within an hour, Kevin was working on it with the wireless provider and we were up and running in no time. Thanks Kevin for the great service and timely follow up.

Everything was excellent! Beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, central location with everything we needed. There is a lovely park across the street with tennis courts and woods for adults and kids alike to walk and explore. Flagstaff is easy to negotiate once you have driven a little. This house was easy to find and is central to everything we did. We went north to the ski area and Grand Canyon. Sedona is in the other direction and not to be missed. We took the scenic route and our jaws dropped at every bend, from the huge saguaro cacti to the massive red rock formations. Make time for the Lowell Observatory at night, it was worth it! We will definitely stay here again! Thanks, Kevin and Kellie!

It has a brand new YMCA just down the street, literally. The owners were very nice and helpful. Thanks again!

We stayed in the house from Dec 26th through Jan 1st 2011. The description and photos on the website are very accurate. Great house in a great neighborhood, shopping and restaurants nearby. Nice and clean, well appointed, had pretty much everything we needed. We got buried in snow while we were there. Kevin was great, he was there for us every time we needed him, he even had somebody clean the snow from the driveway for us. We really enjoyed the ice-rink across the street and playing in the snow at Snow bowl which was very close. Overall - we had a great vacation in beautiful Flagstaff in a beautiful house. Thanks Kevin! If we come back for another vacation - we are definitely staying here again! Happy New Year!

A great escape from the big city! The home is absolutely perfect for a family getaway - from the nice open, updated kitchen to the warm, wood burning fireplace (which we spent many hours by drinking our wine) and I can't forget about the flat screen, HD televisions... this home is not missing anything. If you are particular about cleanliness, like I am, you'll appreciate your stay here - very clean. The location could not be more perfect. Close to downtown Flagstaff which offers great restaurant choices. One of our favorites was Brix.(pricey but worth it) Also, close to several grocery stores, as well as, skiing and sleigh riding. Literally across the street is an ice skating rink, which we went to twice during our stay. Our last night there, we received 6" of snow which looked like a postcard. Our girls had a blast playing and making a snowman. We are already planning our return.

We recently traveled to Arizona to visit the Grand Canyon and surrounding areas. Kevin's home in Flagstaff was a wonderful place to stay. It was clean, well equipped, and convenient to everything. We really enjoyed the kitchen, which allowed us to have some "home (away from home) cooked" meals after the restaurant food from our previous legs of our trip. It was a nice touch to have the crock pot so we could be seeing the sites while our meal was cooking! The kitchen was stocked with everything one could need to cook, eat, and store leftover food. The grocery store was close by, as well as the downtown area. Several brochures were at the house with information about many things to see and do in the area, if one didn't already have any ideas. We had a great time taking the chair lift to the Arizona Snowbowl...what an awesome view!! Sedona by way of Oak Creek Canyon (which Kevin recommended...thank you!) was very scenic and was a perfect day trip from the house. I would highly recommend this place to stay...and would definitely stay here again if I travel back to the area. Thanks Kevin for sharing your home with us and helping to make our stay in Flagstaff so enjoyable! ~Linda

This home was perfect for a place to stay while we were in the process of moving our grand daughter into the NAU dorms. We felt comfortable the moment we stepped in the door. It was well equipted with everything that we needed to spend several days, in and out, moving into NAU. The kitchen was lovely and the house large enough for all four of us to have seperate bedrooms and baths. We really enjoyed the large table to be able to play games and eat together; and every room with large TVs for individual showings. The bikes and tennis rackets were a plus. Very clean.

My husband and I, our son and his wife, and our nephew and his wife spent four great nights at your lovely home. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. We used this as a hub for day trips and saw some of the most beautiful country we have ever seen(Grand Canyon, Lake Powell & Rainbow Bridge Nat'l Monument, Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, "The Mother Road" Route 66, Red Rock Country, historic district of Flagstaff). The house was perfect for our group of adults. The beds were very comfortable and were a welcome sight when we returned each evening. It was great to be able to prepare breakfast and a picnic lunch for our day trips. The laundry facilities were much appreciated on our last night there. We also appreciated the collection of travel information and sights to see close by. The neighborhood was so quiet and peaceful. Nothing to keep you from a restful night's sleep. The guys really enjoyed early morning rides on the bikes while we prepared breakfast. Thank you for making our trip such a wonderful experience. We will certainly recommend you to anyone traveling in this area.

Absolutely gorgeous home in fantastic setting. Outstanding park right across the street offering tons of outdoor activity options. So convenient to downtown Flagstaff, NAU, shopping and restaurants. Great home base for day trips to Grand Canyon, Sedona, Lake Powell and all sorts of other sights in Northern Arizona. If you're into wildlife and great settings check out the new BEARIZONA wildlife park near Williams, AZ (30 minutes) it's awesome and for something closer go see the live Raptor show at the Flagstaff Arboretum. This house is meticulously maintained and had everything we needed to make our stay unforgettable. Thank you for providing a great memory for our family!

My family of 4 along with my brother stayed here in Flagstaff while touring the Grand Canyon and the surrounding area and sites. We found the house to be amazing. It looked exactly like the pictures and had every amenity needed. The beds were extremely comfortable and no one work up sore in the morning. We took numerous day trips, but it was always nice to come back at night to relax and we felt like we were home. The owner has provided numerous brochures as well as restaurant menus in Flagstaff which were very helpful in choosing a restaurant, nearby grocery store, etc. The house was immaculate when we arrived. We would definitely recommend this house to friends and family and would stay here again if visiting the area again. It was a great base to see all of the wonderful sites in northern Arizona.

This is our second year staying at this rental home and we truly loved it. The furnishings and location are stellar; the landlords are most accommodating. It has everything for a wonderful get away with gorgeous views. Our anniversary trip was so special because we were able to stay here again. Highly recommended for comfortable and quiet vacation - whether you enjoy hanging out or taking advantage of all the outdoor beauty and activities.

Three couples - one from France, one from North Carolina and one from Pennsylvania - we met to tour northern Arizona in mid June with headquarters in Flagstaff. The rented house was everything described on the VRBO site and more. Well appointed, large spaces, pleasant and with a wonderfull patio for breakfast and dinner (of course, during the day we traveled away from Flagstaff). All kitchen equipment, including the gas grill on the patio, is modern and well maintained. We will definitely recommend this house for friends who visit Flagstaff.

Great House in a Great Location

My wife and I stayed here for a week at the beginning of June as part of a two week visit to Arizona (from England). The house itself is every bit as good as described. Very clean with all fixtures and fittings to a high standard. We had a small netbook with us so the wireless internet was invaluable for keeing us in touch with home and for planning days out. The TVs are all High Definition with a superb choice of channels and the kitchen is very well equipped. Alternatively, a good gas barbecue is in the back yard which cooked our steaks very efficiently! The house is located in a very quiet part of town with very little passing traffic and discreet neighbours, and walks in the park are right outside the front door. Flagstaff makes a great base for exploring Northern Arizona. Grand Canyon NP is just over an hour away and you can make a great loop by ex[ploring the south rim eastwards and returning home via Cameron. Other wonderful trips out included Sunset Crater and Wupatki NM, Walnut Canyon, Petrified Forest NP (a long drive but well worth it, and you can take in Meteor Crater on the way back), Sedona and the Lowell Observatory. Being up in the mountains the daytime temps were in the upper 20s Celsius and fell at night to low teens, so you escape the stifling heat of more southern parts of Arizona. All in all a great stay which we would highly recommend.

It was comfy and made us feel just like we were at home, with some extras. :) Your thoughtfulness in every detail provided was greatly appreciated. It was a delightful place for grandparents to hang out with grandkids.

Our trip to Flagstaff was even more perfect because we stayed in this beautiful, well-appointed home for a week! You walk in the door and say, "Wow"! Kudos to Kevin and Kellie for making this a marvelous place to relax after a full day of sightseeing. I appreciated the inclusion of coffee, Kleenex, laundry supplies, and loads of information on things to do and see. Go out on the patio at night and look at the sky. It's neat to be in a Dark-Sky City!

My husband and I along with our 12 year old daughter rented this lovely home. The owner's were very professional and most helpful from the onset. The home was very clean, (cleaner than most hotels!) and the beds were quite comfy. The layout of the house is great, and the size was much bigger than we had imagined. They thought of everything for the renter, and if you are second guessing the thought of renting a home vs. hotel..JUST STOP, and rent their home. Trust me...it's better. You know, when you're in a hotel, and you feel cramped, and there's nothing to do except watch tv, work out or leave your room...or, you don't like walking around barefoot because the floors/carpet aren't that clean. I didn't think twice about anything like that here! This house was more than affordable, and perfect. Renting a home is the only way we'll travel now. They have games there for children and families. The bikes were another great thing to do. It's a biking friendly city. The hiking is good too. We rented a DVD from Walgreen's one night, and had a cozy night in. There is plenty to do for the tourist, and it was a beautiful drive to the Grand Canyon and Sedona. We dined at the Tinderbox Kitchen...my most memorable meal in all of Arizona. My only regret was our length of stay as we spent time in another part of Arizona for the latter part of our vacation.

My husband and I took our parents to a once in a life-time trip to see Sedona, the Grand Canyon and the beautiful scenery of northern Arizona. Kevin and Kellie's home made us feel like we were right at home. The house was impeccable and the location was perfect for the must see attractions. The bed was was very comfortable and the flat screen TVs' were a major plus. All of the appliances worked perfectly and appeared to be fairly new. I would highly recommend this property to friends and family and grade the house and overall experience an A+.

What a great house. We picked this home to be in a central location for our day-trips to Sedona, the Grand Canyon, Wapatki Natl Monuement, etc. This home is beautifully furnished and extremely functional. My kids absolutely loved it. It was a little hard to get them out of the house to go exploring at times. I have been using VRBO for years, and this is one of the nicest, most comfortable homes we have stayed in. Thanks Kevin and Kellie. Doug, Leawood, KS
