If we are booked in the townhome or for an alternative place to stay, please visit our unique center of town 1br Loft at VRBO #377007 for a touch of something different in the middle of it all!
AS AN FYI: ALL TAXES AND CLEANING FEES ARE INCLUDED IN CURRENT PRICING!
DESCRIPTION: Enjoy being walking distance to everything downtown offers but just a couple blocks away keeping the evenings quiet. It is the perfect location for downtown fun with a healthy splash of relaxation!
Fantastic townhome right on Front St. in the heart of the Historic District. The home is 2 stories with 2 bedrooms upstairs (each with a queen size bed and a private bath). There is another 1/2 bath downstairs. Big big plus...we have PARKING. Stroll 2 blocks past the mansions for dining, a drink, shopping or a stroll down the Cape Fear River Boardwalk.
Very well appointed Italianate townhome with flat screen, great furniture, 400 threadcount sheets and duvets, washer/dryer, the proverbial porch with swing (Bridge and River View), etc.
YOU SIMPLY COULD NOT ASK FOR A BETTER LOCATION.
Over the years, the unit was used by the Film Studio when films were in town, by business travelers, and by my wife and myself as a weekend getaway. A few years ago we decided it was time that downtown Wilmington had a vacation rental and we became the first short term rental in the Historic District.
All linens, towels, incidentals, coffeemaker and my wife says I should mention the hair dryer....everything is there
Here are a few quotes from our recent guests...

This was my first trip to Wilmington and I found this townhome to be in a super location, only a 10-minute walk to the city center restaurants and entertainment. I did not need a car. The owners were great and the town home had everything we needed. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed seeing the horse-drawn carriages that would go by the townhome while we were sitting on the front porch! I will definitely be back and stay at this lovely townhome!Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

I stayed here with my mom and a couple of friends...We went for Riverfest. The owners are very easy to work with and have great communication. This house even has off street parking (which is hard to find downtown). My favorite thing about Wilmington is the Bridge over the cape fear...I could see this by looking out the door. That alone made the trip for me...The house is very well maintained and decorated beautifully..The walk to get to the riverfront is not to far..maybe 10 minutes or so, depending on speed...I like to stroll...I would love to come back and stay here again..This had all the charms of home!! Highly recommended!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Our one-month visit to Wilmington landed us in a “home-away-from-home” townhome and we were the first guests. All of the creature comforts were included from the coffee maker to the hairdryer and the ipod friendly night table clock, just to name a few. The location was ideal for 10-minute walks to the city center to enjoy restaurants, music and shopping. We also remarked as we sat on the porch swing, about the charming sound of the horse drawn carriage and the clip-clop of the hooves on the pavement. Now that’s a sound you don’t hear everyday. You will hear traffic from the bridge but, it is really only noticeable during peak commute time, a small sacrifice for such a great location. We would certainly stay again!Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This is a charming, well-kept house with a very convenient location. The owners, Pam and Dave, are very friendly and welcoming. The house is well-equipped with all you will need, and the beds are quite comfortable. It worked perfectly for the 2 adults, 1 child, and 2 medium-large dogs in our party. We hope to visit again soon!Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

This was our second visit to Wilmington in 3 years. Both trips we stayed here. The house is within a lovely stroll of downtown. We really enjoy staying here and feeling like a local in Wilmington. Short drive to the beach. The beds are comfy and air con is lovely. The bathrooms have been remodeled with some nice shower tile too.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are always so happy to have return guests! We know that there are so many choices when traveling and we appreciate it most when our guests return to our home for their stay in Wilmington. Thank you! We hope to hear from you again soon!

My husband, toddler, and I stayed at this townhome last week to visit family. The location was ideal as it was only a few blocks to the riverwalk and shops/restaurants. The home was very clean and furniture very modern. The bathrooms were newly remodeled which was very nice. It was great having a washer/dryer and laundry soap was also provided. The special touches, such as a beach umbrella, beach towels, and beach chairs, were a bonus. We were able to have family drop by and it was so convenient to have an extra parking space for their visit. The owners were very responsive with any questions. We definitely will stay here again!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This townhome was perfect for our stay (two adult women). We each had our own bedroom and bath, and it was very clean and convenient to everything we wanted to do. There was even fresh ground coffee available in the kitchen! We were close enough to walk downtown to the shops and restaurants there, and found I did not have to move my car the entire time. The owner answered all my questions promptly and I would absolutely stay here again.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Perfectly located in magnificent Historic downtown Wilmington, this 2 bedroom 2.5 bath is an exceptionally comfortable house for a couple (with a dog in our case). Pam and Dave are most accommodating hosts who were very responsive to our questions and needs. We were overwhelmed at the broad variety of places to eat, live performance venues, shopping opportunities, golf courses, beaches to visit and routes to walk while viewing the impeccably restored homes dating back to the pre-mid 19th Century and early 20th Century eras. For breakfast you must try Basics on N. Front St; Dixie Grill on Market St and the Jester Cafe, hosted by Jamie, on Castle St between E 6th and E 7th. The first two have spectacular biscuits and the latter two have the best grits I have ever eaten. The first and last eatery has space for you and your dog. For lunch, start with the Wayfarer Deli on S. Front St near Dock st. They have the most creative sandwich menu I have ever seen and the food backs up their boast. The outside tables allow you to bring your dog along. Sweet and Savory Bake shop and Cafe on Pavillion Dr, just before you cross the Intercoastal waterway into Wrightsville Beach, is excellent. The waitstaff are exceptionally personable, professional and dog friendly. Other dog friendly and good places to have lunch are The George on the Riverwalk, the Eat Spot on N Front St, Hell's Kitchen on Princess st for a great burger, and of course the Front St Brewery, make sure to ask about the featured draft of the day. For dinner, the Manna of Princess St is a MUST. Bill, host and co-owner, and Jacob, chef co-owner, have developed a zillion star establishment. Jacob is a culinary genius and their pasty chef creates treats that finish an exceptional dining experience. If you are in town on Sunday, they have a very affordable menu that the 'Locals' love. The Fortunate Glass on S. Front St just off Market, is a great place to learn about and joy good wines that are reasonably priced. Celeste Glass, co-owner,with her partner Ms. Fortuna, has created an exceptional space where you can enjoy good wine paired with food that complements the wine. For an Italian meal, lunch or dinner, Gloria's on Wrightsville Rd and Pavillion is exceptional. If you want to dine on the Intercoastal at Wrightsville try the Bridge Tender on Airlie Rd and sit outside on the deck. Or you can get a Oceanfront experience at the Oceanic on Wrightsville Beach. Will return next year!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in our home! We think you may have gotten to know downtown Wilmingon better than we do! We shall have to do some catch up! Look forward to having y'all stay with us next year! Thank you! Dave & Pam

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2003
About the owner: We moved from California in 2003 where we lived in San Diego and Palm Springs. We wanted a coastal community similar to San Diego and the ability to take an occasional surf. What we found was the perfect spot - 8 months of warm water, great year round weather, and the occasional 'cold' night to keep us honest. Sun, beaches, surf, friendly folks and a great historic downtown...we couldn't ask for more.
Why the Owner Chose Wilmington:
We love the fact that you can walk to restaurants, theater, galleries, shops and the local pubs. We are always happy to offer advice on the town of wilmington and its myriad of businesses.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome:
We enjoy having a cup of coffee while sitting on our front porch swing, saying 'hey' to our neighbors. We wave at the horse carriage as it strolls past our home on its way to work or after a busy day. As an FYI - They rescue all the horses and if you have a chance to support them, well, I am sure they would appreciate it. We are also just a 10-15 minute ride to the beaches (Wrightsville and Carolina Beach).
