We had a good stay in this lovely house. It was a return visit and everything went well with a few glitches. The house is neat and clean, nicely decorated, spacious and very comfortable from the kitchen and den to the beds. A full time housekeeper keeps everything in good shape and is amenable to helping out wherever she can. The rental group is responsive to questions and concerns. The Reserva Conchal beach club is beautiful and includes pool, restaurant, bar and beach.

Our family recently stayed at this home and had a wonderful first trip to Costa Rica. Everything was very nice and comfortable. We especially liked having access to the beach club and the Reserva Conchol concierge. Thanks for such a fun and memorable stay!

This house is amazing! It was perfect with our kids and spouses and we enjoyed the private suite outside the main house. The housekeeping/pool/landscapers kept everything great. It's very spacious and comfortable. We had the chef Miguel one night and wished we had him many more. He was fantastic. Swiss travel at the Westin resort helped with all our excursions and couldn't have been better. We loved coming back in the evenings and enjoying the pool and drinks watching the sunset. My husband is a huge bird watcher and thought the house had such beautiful settings for him to sit by the pool in the late afternoon watching many species. We took advantage of eating at the Beach club at lunch several days and the food is delicious and some of the ladies went to the spa which was great also. This is considered the off season but it rained only a couple of times late in the afternoon and the heat is not as bad as our east Texas heat. We look forward to our next trip back and would go back to Villa Catalina.

This house is amazing!!! This is our 2nd family trip to Reserva Conchal. Our girls are grown and married and we love taking a family trip together. The house was perfect with everyone having their own private bedroom and bath and we had a room separate from the house for us. The house is maintained with housekeeper and lawn/pool perfectly. We had Miguel cook one night and wished we'd had him more. The view is gorgeous and my husband and daughter and son in law being bird watchers loved all the many birds around the house. We've told all our friends how wonderful the house is and hope to come back with a group of our friends and we also want to go back with our family. A wonderful family vacation. Would love to stay longer.

My girlfriends and I just got back from a wonderful time at Villa Catalina in Reserva Conchal. We celebrated my 40th birthday!! The amenties exceeded our expectations and the people and lifestyle are Pura Vida! Although we were there during the rainy season our activiites were not interrupted by the showers of rain that only lasted moments and left the gounds LUSH! A far cry from our home in hot dry Houston. Thanks to Gregory the conceirge and all the staff!!

Fabulous A/C home with infinity pool on R. Trent Jones post card golf course. House furnishing are very, very nice. It's inside a gated, guarded, walled resort compound which includes a Ritz Carlton. beach club, indoor/outdoor restaurants, bar, spa, and pools for everyday use in the resort. The scenery and landscape is gorgeous. Nearby restaurants, shopping, all the water sports, siteseeing, zip lines, rafting, horseback, groceries, and so on. Home is stocked with everything - maybe you could bring a couple of favorite dvd's. A jitney-type bus travels the few streets to pickup passengers for the beach club and takes you back home. The protected, clear water beach has jet ski rental and massages. The Ritz has nightly entertainment suitable for families. I believe you can purchase some type of pass. Nice full-supply grocery store 1-2 miles outside resort. It is hard to find any negatives with this place, and trust me, I can ususally find them. Great place for golf, beach, relaxing getaway for families couples, whatever. I particularly liked the security at the resort. Venture out for shopping and activities - some good restaurants within 5 miles. Take your camera, swimwear, golf clubs and have a great time. You might meet some hometown neighbors, as we did. I'd go back in a second. About an hour drive to/from airport. Suggest renting a car. Check in advance how to rent a car - it's not like grab the keys on the fly. 5+ Star - almost forgot - the beach is white sand (not the black sand that is so hot). Cheers.

My family enjoyed a wonderful week at Villa Catalina in November 2010. Villa Catalina is beautifully maintained, inside and out. Each of the 4 spacious bedrooms had its own full bathroom and balcony/outdoor sitting area. The kitchen was gorgeous and fully stocked – granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, large island with additional seating and fully stocked w/ tools. The dining/kitchen area is very open and conducive to a festive atmosphere while cooking and eating. All of the little touches, like providing bath/pool towels, pool “toys,” dish soap, laundry detergent, etc. made everything so convenient, too. It was such a relief to not have to pack or buy that stuff when we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed amenities like the private pool, access to the golf course, daily maid/landscaping service, free shuttle rides from the villa to the Beach Club, gated security, in-house laundry room, etc. We also took advantage of the Reserva’s chef service and had two of their chefs prepare a delicious seafood feast in the villa for us one night – and they cleaned up, too! The owners and property managers also went out of their way to make our stay extra comfortable and special. I had my 14-month-old daughter w/ us, so we had a few special things we needed just for her - highchair, crib and milk. The owners made sure that the crib and highchair were set up at the villa when we arrived – they even had baby sheets that fit perfectly so we didn’t have to bring them, and the maid even made up her little crib with new sheets each day! Milk was my big concern, and the property manager took the time to make a personal trip to a nearby market to stock the fridge w/ a week’s worth of organic soy milk for us before we arrived. Reserva Conchal is a very short distance to Brasilito – quick cab ride, or about a mile (adventurous) walk. We enjoyed some beach time and several lunches/dinners there. It is about a 15-20 minute cab ride to Tamarindo, where you’ll find more shops and restaurants. Tamarindo is also great for those interested in surfing/paddle-boarding – you can rent there. The Reserva was also very willing to arrange excursions – we did a canopy tour and horseback riding. The nice thing about Villa Catalina is that you can really make your vacation as laid back or as adventurous as you want. It was a truly beautiful home in a majestic setting. I hope to have the opportunity to visit again someday!

We just returned from our honeymoon in lovely Costa Rica. When we arrived at Reserva Conchal it was like being in paradise. The landscaping was beautiful and it was in a secure area close to the cute town of Brasilito, where we later had many sunset dinners on the beach. We arrived at Villa Catalina in the evening and the house was pleasantly lit and awaiting our arrival. The home was nicely decorated and the concierge and management team was very helpful. It was wonderful to cook dinners, sit by the pool, and enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony. We enjoyed many dips in the pool, sunrise views over the ocean and golf course, a few rounds of golf, and of course many trips to the lovely crushed-shell beach. It was such a romantic setting, but we also plan to return and enjoy the whole house with other couples in the future. I would highly recommend this relaxing, Costa Rican get-away. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

We were able to stay at this house for a month and it is the nicest rental we have ever taken. The house is grand, simply and beautifully decorated, perfectly sited and immaculately taken care of. There is lovely rattan and deck furniture, abundant shade during all times of the day and many outside fans to keep the air moving all situated around the infinity pool. We particularly enjoyed morning and sunset outside. Most of all it is warm and comforting; the type of place where you drive up to a gorgeous house with expansive tropical gardens, breathe a sigh of relief and say- I'm home.

We found Villa Catalina at Playa Conchal to be a beautiful place surrounded with so much natural beauty. We had so much fun exploring the Arenal Volcano, beaches and all the activities that Play Conchal has to offer. We felt in love with the house as soon as we arrived. It was very beautiful and comfortable. The maid service was a plus to our comfort during our stay. We left Villa Catalina relaxed and re-energized with a desired to come back again.

Beautiful, spacious, comfortable…Villa Catalina was perfect for our stay. I loved waking up in the morning to the sound of birds and howler monkeys. It was nice having a cup of Costa Rican coffee on the veranda while deciding what to do for the day. We had lots of activities to choose from; exploring the nearby villages, driving to the thermal hot springs and mud baths, sailing, canopy tours or sun bathing (by the pool, at the beach or at the beach club). We ended every day on the veranda with a glass of wine, watching the sun set. Villa Catalina has it ALL. –Janine Ramonda and friends. Los Gatos, California

When I sauntered down to Costa Rica, Villa Catalina at Reserva Conchal to be specific, I was in need of some R&R. I was coming to the completion of a 2-year MBA and working. A comfortable, turn-key vacation sounded very, very appealing. Fortunately I had the right combo of fellow vacationers and accommodations. Villa Catalina is virtually spotless with gorgeous marble floors, pretty furnishings and a full-time housekeeper to keep everything fresh and shiny. I stayed in the "rancho" which is a casita that is attached to the house by a plant-filled breezeway and was really lovely. I had a lot of privacy in the rancho but at the same time felt connected to the other members of my group. Every morning we'd wake up, sit on the patio with our Costa Rican coffee and enjoy the beautiful view. What makes it nice is that the house is on a golf course so you feel like you are on a 100-acre property rather than jammed into a tract-home area. The amenities were great at Villa Catalina. Through the concierge I was able to go on a zip line-trip (highly, highly recommended) and took a very magical half-day horseback ride on the beach. I also snorkeled and hung out on the white sand beach that is close to the house. There is a really international flair in the area and I met quite a number of Canadians, Europeans and South Americans. I suppose Costa Rica has become an international destination. If nightlife is desired in your experience as it is in mine, Tamarindo is a quick drive down the road and has plenty of nightclubs and evening haunts. You can also shop and get the requisite chatchkies there to take home to relatives. I had a fantastic meal in Flamingo Beach and there are plenty of gourmet restaurants to choose from. However, we cooked in the Villa Catalina most nights as the kitchen was pretty buffed out and the fresh produce in Costa Rica is delicious. We often mixed rice, mango, avocado and some chicken and had a nice meal on the back patio next to the infinity pool. (Most nights were spent eating, drinking wine and sitting under the prolific stars. There was actually an eclipse while I was there, too cool!) I'm not a golfer but my uncle golfed and seemed very impressed with the course. I would recommend this house to friends. In fact, it was a little depressing to come home to Vegas where I live. I live in a nice home but Villa Catalina is so new and clean makes one look at their own home and asses things a bit. I will go back soon.
