Swimming, surfing, sunbathing, jet-skiing, water-skiing, windsurfing, boating, sailing, golf, mini golf, cruises, walking/biking trail, Fun-center with go-carts and laser tag all very close. . See rocket launches from the beach. Fishing off of the beach and from the fishing pier at Jetty Park is very popular.
Port Canaveral, home to numerous cruise ships is a 10 minute drive. The Port also boasts two casino cruise-liners, Suncruz Casino and Sterling, with twice daily departures and numerous restaurants and two wonderful fresh fish/seafood markets. Charter boats and Jetty Park fishing pier are located there as well.
The Cocoa Beach Pier with surfing and restaurants is a few minutes away. Kennedy Space Center is 20 minutes away. Daytona is one hour north. Airboat rides on the St. John’s River to see alligators, birds, and other wildlife is just 20 minutes on Hwy #520.
Orlando attractions (Disney parks, Sea World, Universal Studios, etc.) are an easy 45-60 minutes away. Orlando International Airport is 45 minutes away too.
The heart of Cocoa Beach is 10 minutes away as is the world famous Ron Jon’s Surf Shop. A new grocery store is 5 minutes away (Publix). Many popular stores and a shopping mall are 15 minutes away in Merritt Island. Macy’s, Dillards, JC Penny’s, Super Wal-Mart, Target, Barnes and Noble, Pier One are just a sampling of easy access shopping. In downtown Cocoa 20 minutes away are antique stores, boutiques, and casual and fine dining.
Many elegant and casual restaurants are close by too. Some favorites are Thai, Thai 3, which is Thai and sushi. Greek diners, pizza, Chinese, seafood, well, just about everything is available here in Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach and Merritt Island.
