Merida is the largest city on the Yucatan Peninsula, situated 30 kilometers (20 miles) to see the beach. Rental car available for $350 Mexican pesos (cca 35 USD) per day. Local tropical weather is humid and hot during the Summer time, but Winter months are warm and lovely sunny with temperatures between 20-30 °C degrees (68 - 77 °F). There are two rainy seasons, in the late Summer months and early part of the calendar year.
Connection flights to Merida - from Miami takes 1.5 hour, from Mexico City 1.5 hour, from Cancún 1 hour. Driving from Cancún 3.5 hour by speedway. There are direct US flights from Houston, Atlanta, and Miami via Cancun.
