This was our family home until last year.We built it for ourselves so it is finished way beyond your average rental.I was an engineer and an antique collector and dealer so the house interior looks antique but is remodeled with with all the latest conveniences.Please enjoy the property-we did.

We spent our pre Christmas 2011 holiday at this rental with our family and close friends (8 people total and 1 dog) and had a fantastic time. The house was clean and had that warm feeling. Everyone had their own bedroom and own bathroom. We planned a dinner event each night and with the great kitchen set up everything worked out great. The location is also great with easy access and one block from both Lake Tahoe and the trail that was perfect for running, hiking and taking the dog for a walk each morning. We do rate this as excellent and will be back again. In fact we are already looking at dates for December 2012 to again rent this property.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children.

I couldn't disagree more with the previous review. The house was very clean on our arrival. The coffee pot was a normal size. We checked the mattresses, and all appeared new or nearly new. There are a lot of things in the drawers in the kitchen, but there is every imaginable appliance and supplies. We appreciated not needing to buy spices and condiments etc. The swimming pool at the beach was closed for the season and the rates are kind of high for just the beach. Great location.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, pet owners, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

The house is large and with an excellent floor plan.It is perfect for a large gathering.The location is ideal, 2 minutes walk from a private, family friendly beach.Also plenty of outdoor space to sit or play The house is incredibly cluttered.The kitchen drawers are overflowing with junk. The dishes were caked with old food and we had to hand wash every utensil. The dishwasher is broken and tiny coffee pot. The mattresses are in need of replacement, a great deal of the house needs to get cleaned and emptied out
