Last December, our family chose to spend the last week of the year at "Villa Las Palmas", a 5 bedroom house located in the "La Punta" residential complex in Manzanillo. Our group consisted of 9 adults of ages between 26 and 77 years and a 10 month old baby. I can confidently say that we all had one of the most relaxing holidays ever, let me make that more precise: The house itself is big enough so that we could either spend time together in comfortable spaces such as the open concept living room or dining patio or alternatively, if desired, there is an office for getting some work done, satellite TV for those who craved to watch a sports event, a movie or whatever else, Wi Fi for those who need to send a quick e-mail, a couple of warm pools or the Jacuzzi where we could sip a delicious fresh strawberry or lime Margarita while enjoying the view of Manzanillo bay. Finally we could just sit quietly to read a book in one of the many small terraces. We enjoyed swimming and snorkeling as the water was crystal clear and filled with all sorts of fish, eels, small sting rays, crabs, snails and the like. The sand and the surf were a success with the baby who spent hours discovering the pleasures of sand play and being splashed by the surf. All the above was compounded by the housekeeper Juanita and her daughter Yuri. They prepared not only the previously mentioned Margaritas but the most delicious meals, including a gorgeous New Year’s Eve special dinner. Juanita´s husband is a local fisherman and we had a daily supply of freshly caught seafood that was converted by Juanita into mouth watering ceviches, grilled fish, kebabs, cocktails and all the yummy things you can imagine. They also kept the house in impeccable condition and made our stay all the more enjoyable. You can find beautiful houses and beaches all over the Mexican coast, ¡but you cannot find Juanita-Yuri clones! They were definitely the main reason why we would go back to "Villa Las Palmas". We wish future guests the same amazing time we had. Thanks Nelly for a wonderful Holiday vacation. The Brody-Pellicer-Rumbos family

Nelly, I was in the party with Marco Herrejon. I just wanted to let you know that this was a wonderful vacation. The house was absolutely beautiful, the view was spectacular and the three woman, Juanita, Judy and Marta were wonderful. We could not have asked for anything more. Thank you. Beatriz Grant

Nelly, All I can say is that the Villa far exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, and until the last day, the staff pampered us like we were in a five star resort. The food and presentation was incredible. Juanita, Judy and Marta were very nice and accommodated our every need. We had visits from Enrique and Jean Pierre to make sure that everything was in order. Thank you. Marcon Herrejon

Hi Nelly We thought it was wonderful and we quickly found that Juanita cooked the best food in all of Manzanillo!! She was just incredible. The internet service was off and on but it wasn't such a problem because we were on vacation. We just cannot say enough about how well Juanita took care of us. El Tamarindo was singularly the most beautiful golf course that Doug ever played on. It was an unsurpassed birthday experience. You could actually stay at La Punta and never leave during your vacation!! Thanks Nelly. Nonie

Hi Nelly: I apologize that it has taken me so long to sit down and thank you for recommending Villa Las Palmas to us...I just couldn't bring myself around to believing that I was really back home and in the rat race again! We all cannot begin to tell you what an incredible vacation we had! People donot believe me when I tell them that it was the best vacation that I have ever been and then go to ask why...I start with the fact that we walked off of the plane into 85 degree weather and were met by Baldo, who took us wherever we wanted and needed to go for 8 days. He was a wealth of knowledge and the kids really enjoyed him! I then move on to walking in the front door and being overwhelmed by a view that the website pictures didn't do justice. The house was perfect for the 8 of us. Everyone had their own space if they wanted it, but we could all be together when we chose to. By the end of the week we each had our favorite place to drink coffee, sit in the sun, read and nap. The pools were the perfect spot to cool off. When we got home I kept looking for Juanita, the wonderful woman who made us coffee in the morning, yummy breakfasts, tasty lunches, scrumptious dinners and delectable drinks, the woman who made sure that our beds were made, our rooms cleaned our clothes laundered. I couldn't find Juanita or her wonderful daughters, Yuri and Laura who helped her every day. It took me a while to realize that Juanita was still in La Punta and I had once again returned to my familiar role as "Juanita" at home. Juanita, Yuri and Laura were incredibly warm and friendly, with their help we were able to relax. We were also able to thoroughly enjoy ourselves and our children, we cannot remember the last time that we sat down as a family for 3 meals in one day, let alone 3 meals a day for one week. It was time spent with our children that we will cherish forever. We know the risk of writing such a glowing review is that Las Palmas will be booked the next time we want to visit but such a wonderful house with such an incredible staff deserve the recognition. It was also nice getting to meet you while we were in Manzanillo and we look forward to working with you on another vacation in the near future. Thanks again for everything. Cathy Kinney

This is my review of our stay at Las Palmas in October. We were blown away at the accommodations...the photos do NOT do it justice. We took a family vacation as our son is leaving for college next year, it was to be one of our last ones while he is till at home, we went with another family with 2 kids as well. The home is outstanding, furnished impeccably, the view is breathtaking! The home is clean and so well furnished for all of our needs. Now onto the food!! It was fabulous, I put 5#, Juanita was our cook along with Shelly. We would talk every AM what we had in mind for the day, fresh caught fish, Mexican food, whatever we were craving. The meals were not only delicious but the presentation was worthy of a 5* restaurant in the States. We would eat every evening out next to the pool as the sun was setting. We had Arturo and several gentlemen as our official drivers in a suburban for the week. It was great for side trips, etc. They arranged all of our activities such as snorkeling, horseback riding, surf lessons, etc. We had a wonderful time. This was not the kind of vacations any of us had ever been on. I was not sure I would be comfortable being waited on by staff, but I was amazed how quickly I adapted!!! The adjusting came when I returned home, no more fully prepared meals, immaculate bedrooms, baths, etc., We had left Paradise. I would strongly recommend this as a great away for any family, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Eileen Massie Eagan, Minnesota.

Hi Nelly Had a great time in Villa Las Palmas, loved the staff and the house, the only bummer was not having any golf carts available until last two days. My wife left a necklace in the top floor master bedrooms...any word? Might want to reserve again for next year...how long in advance do you accept reservations? Ted

Hi Nelly, Here is a picture of our crew as we're (sadly) getting ready to head for the airport. We had to include Juanita and her daughters because they were such a big part of our stay! We had such a wonderful time - the house was perfect for our two families; plenty of room to gather, yet plenty of space for quiet. My husband took full advantage of the office, as he generally needs to work a bit everyday. The equipment was all ready to go and he was able to leave everything set up for the week, making his time there very efficient. As I mentioned, Juanita and her girls were wonderful. Everything was waiting for us just as we had requested. We coordinated the basics of our meal planning, and asked for generally healthy food (grilled or steamed food, healthy oils, plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables), but wanted her to prepare some traditional specialties. We love to cook and eat, and one of the things we enjoy most when we travel is eating unique and interesting food. We thought we'd be going out to dinner at least a few times. Juanita's meals were so delicious we couldn't bear to miss one! Every meal was delicious, and her initial wine selection was excellent - we ended up buying a bottle of one of the wines to take home with us. La Punta was lovely! We all got our exercise in walking up and down the hills! The beach was beautiful and very quiet the week we were there. Thank you for all your help in arranging our vacation. I think my husband will be contacting you about next year. Thank you again Nelly, Anne
