The house and yard are beautifull There were problems heating the pool but we got the spa working well. Very annoying was the gardener showing up BEFORE 8AM on Jan 2, a holiday, with one of those gas leaf blowers making a lot of noise. I thought those things had been outlawed. In fact, I am going to contact the City of Cathedral City to if a bill should be passed to outlaw them.

What a TREAT!

Let me just start off by saying that this place is really an oasis in the desert! My family and I recently rented this charming house on Labor Day Weekend. This is our 5th stay and I finally had to write a review. This 3 bedroom 2 bath house is spacious and clean. The rooms are large and the decor makes you feel right at home. The house if fully stocked with everything you need. The best part is the backyard. It has a beautiful lap pool and lush landscaping. It has a bbq (which we used every day), 2 bonfire pits, lounge chairs and seating for large groups, plus an array of water toys for the kids. Every time we go, there is sometime new. This time there was a new front lawn with 2 fountains and a bistro area which was great for breakfast and checking my emails. I can't wait to see what the next additions will be! We are a Middle Eastern family and we loved the fact that it had coffee cups for our middle eastern coffee and skewers for the bbqing. This place is Middle Easten friendly ;-) I can't wait for my next trip back to the rock garden retreat!!

During our stay I found the property very clean, very comfortable, and it felt like home. It's an excellent place to relax and forget the outside world for a couple of days. I will strongly recommend it to my friends and relatives to rent this property at any time to get away for a couple of days. It was convenient as well such that it included towels, pool items, amenities and etc.

Ideal vacations home!

From the moment we arrived at this beautiful house we felt right at home. We are a family that likes to get out of town very often even for a few days at a time. I must truly say this was one of the cleanest and comfortable houses we have stayed at. Palm desert isn't to far from where we live and Rock Garden retreat is a place we look forward to visiting over and over in the future! If you've been misinformed in the future with vacation rentals and broken promises, you know how important it is to stay somewhere thats well worth your time. With Rock Gardens you cant go wrong!!!

Awesome holiday home

We booked for the entire month of February 2010 and loved every minute of it. Had our families come to visit for short periods and the setting was perfect for visiting, playing and relaxing. Have booked again for this winter. Owner is very approachable and immediatley looked after the few minor concerns we did encounter (mostly our own doing). Quiet area of town with friendly neighbours. Clean and well decorated. Pool and hottub were all we expected and more. Heating actually a lot quicker than we had anticipated. Will consider this home on a yearly basis. Had several friends over for visits and they were totally impressed and are considering renting as well. Overall great experience in a terrific home Thank you Shahen and Annette

Great getaway!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at the Rock Garden Retreat rental property. The home was conveniently located a few minutes from downtown Palm Springs, and other convenient shopping locations. The beds were very comfortable, linens were wonderful, and the Hawaiian themed bathroom was a nice touch. The pool and spa were fantastic (the pool was heated!). We cooked every meal and used the BBQ daily. The kitchen was well stocked, with all kinds of cute serving items (like a little cow that serves milk. The owners clearly took a great deal of time to think of all the personal touches someone would like and appreciate while on vacation. We were seeking a restful, luxurious, low maintenance, high quality, and stress free environment - we got that, and more. Thank you for making our vacation so memorable and we look forward to our next visit.

Rock Garden Rocks!

This beautiful house is truly a home designed with love! Pristine yet warm and comfortable, the Rock Garden Retreat's sparkling, clean tile floors and appointments throughout are gorgeous. The Hawaiian-themed bathroom is totally fun. But the "piece de resistance" is the patio with pool and jacuzzi -- the perfect setting for a midnight swim or a peaceful poolside breakfast! We will come again, and will recommend the Retreat to our friends!

Great Escape!

We really enjoyed the Rock Garden Retreat. It is beautifully furnished inside and has an awesome patio with pool and jacuzzi outside. The house is pet friendly and we enjoyed hanging out with our dogs here. It was immaculately clean and the master bedroom has a separate bathroom as large as a bedroom. It is so quiet at night and the pool lights up very romantically. It feels like staying at a five star resort. The owner was accommodating and the fully stocked kitchen is a real plus. I would definitely stay here again!

Rock bottom retreat

Didnt enjoy this trip as much as I thought I would. We were told the house was 3 br but we were stuck with 2 one night because the door was locked with no key to open it up. Other than that it's a nice private house. Wouldnt stay here again though. The owner never picked up his phone and never called me back. I even made a special request to speak to the owner through the manager but had no luck. Overal not a very fun getaway. maybe a C- at best.

Owner response:Welll, this was our most problematic rental every. Actually, Henry seemed like a nice guy and tried to be very communicative, albeit somewhat after the fact. Unfortunately one of the first nights of their stay, they locked the master bedroom door before checking if there was a key to unlock it. Then they called at midnight, but didn't leave a message, and by the time we called back they next day they had drilled the lock out of the door. This forced us after their stay to replace the baldwin doorknob at over $100 just for the knob. Then, when we inspected the property after their stay, and the controls for the hot tub were completely broken. These were hand levers to change the water flow that are VERY HARD to break. We still don't know how that happened, but that cost us over $300 to replace. Since we had to take these damages out of the deposit, Henry was not happy. Of all of our guests that have ever stayed, this was our most problematic by far. The previous two guests who stayed for over a month got all of their deposits back, and left us nice thank you notes.

I stayed there for a weekend -- what a great house! Spacious, clean and well-stocked for a fun weekend, and the owners are extremely helpful. Highly recommended.
