At Home in London

Guest: California Dreaming (Southern California)
Date of Stay: 12/08/11 Review Submitted: 01/06/12

Thanks again Catherine for our wonderful 2 1/2 week stay in the lovely garden flat. Everything was perfect, from your warm welcome (the muffins, cheese, biscuits, and wine were much appreciated) to all the amenities. The apartment is well situated and is a tranquil place to relax at the end of the day. We felt instantly at home. We were quite comfortable and already have plans to return next time we’re headed to London.

Just like Home -- Only Better!

Guest: Ken & MJ (Tallahassee, Florida)
Date of Stay: 11/19/11 Review Submitted: 12/06/11

What a gem of a place in North London! In a quiet, lovely residential area only five minutes' walk to the Tube, this flat is a cosy and comfortable base to explore all of London. Catherine met us at the flat at 11:30 am (much nicer than waiting for a late-afternoon check-in at a hotel), and it was immediately apparent that she has given the apartment much care and attention: bookcase chock-full of tourist information and general reading, well-stocked kitchen and bathroom, warm & cosy bedroom, and lovely garden. We picked up steaks and vegetables at foodie-fantastic Borough Market (Southbank near London Bridge), hopped on the Tube, and within 20 minutes were back at the flat cooking Thanksgiving dinner! Other days, after museums, we stopped at the Junction Tavern (five minutes' walk from the tube, just past the Sainsbury's), where Johnny welcomed these two Americans as if we were long-long friends with a couple of pints of excellent real ale (microbrews). Atmospheric Highgate Cemetery is within walking distance (although we took the long way around through beautiful Hampstead Heath). Otherwise, all the museums, parks, and other well-known tourist sites are easily accessible from the Tufnell Park Tube station. What a fantastic place to pretend you are not just a tourist, but a Londoner. Thank you, Catherine!

Amazing flat in cute neighborhood

We couldn't ask for more in a place to stay near London! We fell in love with the Tufnell Park neighborhood instantly. The flat is on a very quiet street, close to the tube, restaurants, grocery and a wonderful playground for our 15 month old daughter. The place is well equipped with wifi, washer and a great modern heater (which was needed from time to time during our stay in late October). The nearby Tufnell Tavern has great food and beer and is very kid-friendly. Best of all, Catherine was so incredibly helpful and friendly throughout the whole process. She made us feel so welcomed and it was apparent that she took great pride in her property. We are sure to be back!

Great time in London

Guest: Sandy (Virginia Beach, Virginia)
Date of Stay: 07/23/11 Review Submitted: 09/05/11

We absolutely loved the Apartment it was only 4 blocks from the Tube so we got everywhere we wanted to very easily. The pictures are ture to what the apartment looked like. We loved the Tavern around the corner and went three different times the week we stayed. The first time we went for a drink and light food, the pizza's were great. The second time we went late after we arrived back from a long day and had tea and desert. The last time was on Wed. night which was buy one entry get the second free and the entries were wonderful. We also liked the small grocery store which was across the street from the tavern. We purchased breakfest items and made our own breakfest which we enjoy on the back pattio. One afternoon my husband got sick and it was so nice to have a great place to return to he could sleep inthe bedroom while my daughter and I visited and watched a movie in the living room. I can't say enough nice things about the apratment it was everything we needed and more. We will be visiting London again I am sure and will stay here again.

Great place to come home to while visiting London

Guest: Rich (Los Angeles, CA)
Date of Stay: 05/11/11 Review Submitted: 07/17/11

Cozy apartment. Very clean and well maintained. Owner was very good about maintaining correspondence before arriving and then making sure that I got in OK once I arrived. Great for having your own place to come home to at night while visiting London. Convenient to central London and most tourist attractions via the Tube. Short walk to Hampstead Heath, which is a great place to go to for a nice walk and to enjoy London in a different kind of way than the typical tourist experience. Bull and Last is a nice gastropub (if you like gastropubs) near Hampstead Heath and only a short 5-10 minute walk away.

Cute, clean, quiet neighborhood - highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed here for a week and this was probably the best VRBO home that we have stayed for the price. And we have rented a lot of homes from VRBO! It has everything you need and is quite roomy. It's very comfortable with cute decor, lots of books, a nice patio out back. We preferred the quiet, more remote neighborhood and with the tube stop just a couple of blocks away, it was very convenient.

Great flat, in a quiet neighborhood

Guest: Shelley (Calgary, Canada)
Date of Stay: 05/19/11 Review Submitted: 06/20/11

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights in May and really loved the accomodation. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. I was pleased with how much space we had, and I loved the large sized tub in the bathroom. The neighborhood is quiet and within walking distance to grocery stores, restaurants and the Tube station. I would recommend this place to others.

Wonderful stay in a lovely neighborhood! Excellent host!

Guest: Karen (Grand Rapids, Michigan USA)
Date of Stay: 05/06/11 Review Submitted: 05/21/11

A friend and I spent 2 nights in London during a recent European adventure. We had a busy itinerary - 2 nights in London, 3 nights in Paris, and then off to Austria and Switzerland. Our 2 nights in London at this flat were perfect!! The owner, Catherine, is a wonderful host. She met us at the apartment and gave us tips about the tube, dining options, banking, etc. She recommended the Tufnell Park Tavern and our food/service was excellent! The flat is only a few blocks from the Tufnell Park tube line - very convenient without any transfers when you head south towards the sites of London. When we left the flat, we were taking the Eurostar train to Paris and it was very easy - only a couple of stops to the St Pancras station. The apartment was very clean, in a wonderful neighborhood, and we loved coming home to a quiet place after our "busy" days in the city. Would definitely recommend this to family & friends who are visiting London. Thank you again, Catherine, for a most comfortable stay.

Charming Apartment

Guest: Jane (Templeton, California)
Date of Stay: 04/29/11 Review Submitted: 05/20/11

My daughter, friend and I stayed at this lovely apartment for a week. It was well-stocked with everything we needed, including food upon our arrival. It is conveniently located near shops and the underground with just a short walk. Beautiful flowers from Catherine were awaiting us, and the garden out the front window was blooming as well. We had a wonderful time, and would recommend this location highly. We miss it already, and hope some day to return. Thank you Catherine!
