Snow Creek Ranch is a wonderful property located about 10 minutes away from the old mining town of Mariposa. It features a spacious home with plenty of room to relax, cozy interiors, a sprawling deck overlooking the creek, a beautiful infinity edge swimming pool with spa, and much, much more.
The secluded 150 acres include rolling hills, forests and pristine hiking paths. It's home to deer, bobcats and an occasional coyote. The views from all sides are peaceful and inviting. It's perfect year round. In the fall visit to watch the leaves turn and the rains arrive. You can relax by the wood stove in winter, or ski in Yosemite National Park. Spring and summer are perfect for outdoors activities.
The property includes two ponds stocked with bass, horse corrals -- where you can bring your own horse, a pool cabana for hanging out by the water, barbecuing for lunch, or a romantic dinner by the pond.
No neighbors are visible anywhere around the property. There is hardly a better place to get away form it all, gather with friends or family, or concentrate on important decisions away from the pressures of daily life.
IMPORTANT: JULY AND AUGUST ONE WEEK MINIMUM REQUIRED. OTHERWISE, MINIMUM IS 2 NIGHTS.

Why the Owner Chose Mariposa
I fell in love with the Sierra foothills in California while visiting Yosemite National Park during the summer of 1997. It's an old school county, very laid back, the original hub of the Gold Rush in 1849. North of Mariposa, driving up Route 49, you can visit the original mining towns, some of which retain their original charm. Places like Jamestown, Sonora, Murphys and Columbia bring you back to an earlier image of the West.
The Unique Benefits at this Farmhouse
Snow Creek Ranch is unsual. There are two ponds on the property, and Snow Creek which cuts the ranch diagonally. Fishing in the upper pond will yield some sizable large mouth bass. You can hike within the ranch, and also cross over to neighboring properties while not encountering a soul. We have our own falls which run from October to May. Sitting with a good book by the flowing water is one of life's great pleasures. If you are into horses, you can bring your own and ride some wonderful trails.
The pool area is elegant, fun and extremely comfortable. You can set a fire, eat by the pool in the cabana or enjoy a relaxing time in the spa.
And all this is within a short drive of Yosemite National Park. What else could you ask for?

I am originally from Argentina, where I grew up riding horses and chasing cows. I have lived in California for over 30 years, and my dream was to own a property where I could keep my animals and enjoy nature all year round.

This is a nice place to get away from it all. It is a comfortable home and user friendly. There is plenty of space for the whole family to spread out. We hiked, used the hot tub, went out on the pond in a row boat, played table tennis outside, games indoors, watched movies etc. (It was too cold to swim in the pool, it was iced over) We enjoyed watching the llamas, turkeys & horses as well. Oakhurst is about a 30 minute drive, Yosemite Valley is a little over an hour depending on traffic. We would love to come back & enjoy the property in warm weather as well.

We loved our stay at the Ranch in June. The pool, spa and the variety of outdoor areas to read, eat or just sit and enjoy the view were just great. The stars at night were the most abundant and clear that we have ever seen, and the fire pit was perfect for the cool nights. The trails were also wonderful, and the friendly horses as well. For dog lovers/owners like us, it was great to have the company of the Ranch dogs, and know that they keep the critters away at night! It was great to come back at the end of a hot day of hiking and find that the house coolers had been turned on by the caretaker, without waste of energy. All in all, a great stay.

Perfect Family Get Away! A nice large living room with plenty of room for Dad to do a puzzle, mom to read a book, the kids to play Wii and the older folks to fight over Texas Hold'em all at the same time without impinging upon one another. The Ranch is a very nice balance of subtle opulence and country splendor. A gorgeous infinity pool/spa featuring a cascading waterfall and two tall pine trees blends tastefully with the simple boat dock and small fishing pond. Truly a comfortable and elegant getaway. You could spend a week and never get cabin fever.

We went to visit our daughter and family in Merced Ca. and wanted to try a rental thinking it would provide a vacation environment for all. Snow creek ranch provided that and much more. Our Granddaughters were able to bring their horses to the ranch and our grandsons enjoyed the swimming, fishing and exploring. The kitchen and large BBQ pit allowed easy meal preperation and the very large (the picture does not do it justice) living room provided lots of space for evening gatherings. The large selection of games and books offered something to everyone. Comfortable bed and bedding are important to me and I was prepared to give that up for the others. I was pleasantly surprised that the mattress, bedding and pillows were of a fine hotel quality. Thanks for sharing your home with our family, it made for a great visit. Jeane

I can not express in words the wonderful time that our family had at Snow Creek Ranch. It provided memories which will last a lifetime. We enjoyed spending time with the animals; the horses, llamas, turkeys, and occasional deer and geese sightings. Your property is beautiful, comfortable and relaxing. The vanishing edge swimming pool and jacuzzi created a resort-style element that added to our enjoyment. Thank you for sharing your home with us-we would love to visit again in the future!
