SUMMER-VERY CLOSE to the famous Torch Lake Sandbar with a space for your boat OR rent our pontoon and enjoy the many colors of Torch Lake! Parties, festivals, and an assortment of activities for every age.
FALL: How about private acreage with awesome, breath taking views from a secluded log chalet overlooking the splendid beauty of hardwood colors with sky blue lakes! After a day visiting the nearby shopping towns, touring or fishing on our fine waters, come back to a bon-fire and roast your marshmellows and hotdogs or take that needed walk while sneaking up on wildlife grazing on the property.
WINTER: CENTERED in the middle of ski and snow-mobile country. Snowmobile, snowshoe, go sledding (tubing), or cross-country ski on our property or at nearby trails. Many things happening in nearby Traverse City and Turtle Creek casino too!
SPRING Time in Northern Michigan means Morel mushroom hunting!! We are famous for our mushrooms and thousands of acres of public woodlands. Three nature walks are also closeby with more just within a 30 minute drive. Trout season opens the end of April but our popular 'Rapic River', you can fish all year for rainbow and brown trout.
We are just 3 minutes from the south end of Torch Lake, our cozy chalet offers panoramic views and leisure activities. There is plenty of room to park your boat and other vehicles. The public boat access is just 3 minutes away or use our included boat slip located on Torch River at the South end of Torch Lake. The log chalet is just ten minutes from Turtle Creek Casino, 3 minutes from Torch Lake and it's many public accesses, 3 minutes from kayaking down the Rapid River, 20 minutes from Traverse City, 20 minutes from Ski resorts, 5 & 15 minutes from nature walks, hunting, fishing, ATV trails, snowmobiles, skiing just minutes away.

This review is excellent, partially because of the stunning winter weather that accompanied it. But, that's part of the charm of this place....the incredible views and nature surrounding it. Dale was a delight and very helpful. The chalet was immaculate and provided all the necessities for a weekend away. If you're in the area, you need to check this out. Much more memorable than another hotel room.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

Our family of 5 rented Dale & Mike's place for a few days over New Years. We had a great time - sledding and snowmobiling the huge hills on their property. The property is pretty secluded but close to many things. We skied Shanty Creek (1/2 hr away) and rented a couple of other snowmobiles for a family ride along the Jordan Lake trails. Grocery store and some good places to eat within 10 minutes of the house. We put the washer & dryer at the house through it's paces. Pretty much everything we needed was available at the house. We would definitely love to come back up and enjoy the beauty of this area during the warmer weather.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, families with young children, age 55+.

We were surprised when we saw the cottage and location! Pictures online cannot describe the beauty here! Wildlife and the peace we found were exacvtly what we needed! Thanks for allowing us to share a great area of Michigan! NOWHERE else can you combine the atmosphere of a secluded cabin and the enjoyment of a lake! Torch Lake is fantastic! Last year, 2011, was the first we discoved such a fine lake. We had to come back! The cabin adds such a great flavor to the evening, sunsets, campfire! The deck is beautiful too! Thank you so much for allowing us to use the chalet and your pontoon! Torch lake is the best! We had fun at the sand bar and Dockside. Derek had an amazing time catching fish.
