A one year old house in the new Cottages at Bay Ridge development on the Sound (unobstructed Sound view across sea oats, cattails and similar vegetation) at Atlantic Beach, approximately 2 miles from the bridge across the Sound to Morehead City. This quiet, self-contained development of some 40 new houses has a fenced, central swimming and playground area great for a quick dip after a hot day on the beach or for letting the kids burn off excess energy without collecting more sand. It is a 5-7 minute walk to a small shopping center with a movie theater, Food Lion grocery store and some other small shops and fast food. Easy drive to shopping (both nice fashion and beach stuff) and all kinds of restaurants. Fort Macon historic park is maybe a 10 minute drive and the renovated North Carolina Aquarium is about 5 minutes away. Golf, fishing and other activities are all in easy reach, either in Atlantic Beach or across the Sound in Morehead City or Beaufort.
The house itself, which was bought this past September, is all newly furnished and appointed, with modern kitchen and baths, and has both a deck (with gas grill) and screened in porch on the back overlooking the sound and a front porch as well. Easy to find a place to read a book and drink coffee in the morning or unwind and cool off in the evening. There is a 2 car garage, and an outdoors shower outside at the garage level.
We spend a few months a year there ourselves and so have outfitted the place more as a second home than a rental. You would be most welcome. |
