It has been an absolute pleasure staying at your Waitsfield home this week. It was perfect in so many ways. The location was very convenient for the Green mountain stage race and the boys rode their bikes up Bragg Hill on the first day to warm up for the real test—which was to ride up the App Gap at the end of their 65 mile race through the countryside. They located a couple of great swimming holes in Warren and Bristol and made several visits to cool off after their rides/races. My husband and I played golf twice at Sugarbush and otherwise relaxed and took in the races. The property was minutes from the charming town of Waitsfield which had everything we needed . The chalet was spacious, open concept with very comfy beds and having 3 bathrooms was a bonus for sure!! We'd certainly return.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

This is our third summer renting this home in Fayston, and it gets better every year. The home is perfect for a family with kids (we have three young ones), and nothing beats Vermont in the summertime (the hottest day in July was around 85). The house is comfortable, with an airy, wide open kitchen, dining room and living room. There are beautiful views of the mountains at every turn. You awaken to chirping birds and croaking bull frogs. We picked a half pint of raspberries from the yard every day!! It really doesn't get any better :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks Peter and family! We love to have you rent the house. We are so glad you love Vermont the way we do! And we are glad you enjoyed the raspberries!

I have to say that your log home near Fayston was wonderful. We were pleased to find that there were many sights of interest to us just a short drive from the cabin. Some of the places that we visited were Burlington, Montpellier, and the Rock of Ages quarry near Barre. We also drove south of Burlington to see the Vermont Teddy Bear company and a variety of interesting stops in that direction. We went as far south as Middlebury where we strolled through the downtown area and had lunch at the Two Brothers Tavern. Our northern most trip was the ski area at Stowe and the road up to Smugglers Notch which was a fascinating and picturesque drive. We shopped at the factory outlet stores in Essex Junction and we all enjoyed the Ben & Jerry's factory. We took their factory tour, bought t-shirts and brought home much more ice-cream than we ever thought we could eat ... but we did manage to eat it. The children also loved swimming at the watering holes along the Mad River. We managed to do quite a bit of hiking in the areas along the Mad River valley which was wonderful. As for the log home cabin, it exceeded our expectations. The children enjoyed sleeping in the basement where they could get away from their parents. We enjoyed coffee on the deck in the mornings and wine on the deck in the evenings. Shopping for groceries was easy in the store in Waitsfield. We used the barbecue once but mostly cooked our evening meals in the kitchen which was well equipped for everything we could possibly need. Before bed we often watched movies using the DVD player that was there. The wireless internet was also a nice bonus. It allowed us to keep in touch with our families by e-mail, and to look up some phone numbers or restaurant hours before leaving in the morning. I retreat that is highly recommended for anyone interested in relaxing in a picturesque environment. And who isn't?Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.
Owner response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at our house. It sounds like you visited many wonderful places in the Mad River Valley area. We hope you will return again soon. Best, Kathy
